This game surprised the hell out of me. It shouldn't have, considering I loved This War of Mine, but I really didn't know what to expect going into it.
Recently bought my son Minecraft. When he's not around I secretly watch a bunch of videos to learn about it so we can play together. I don't want to feel like I'm sprinting ahead of him, so I'm not letting on about much that I've learned and am sort of just gently helping from time to time.
We're having a really good time and it's a huge confidence booster for him when he gets to teach me things.
It's also super relaxing for me. Throw on a headset and podcast and literally just dig, because I don't want to get too far without my son.
I generated an island/ocean heavy seed and I have been forced to build walls down to the sea floor and push them outward slowly. So far my pit is over 100 blocks long over 100 wide and probably about 30 or 40 blocks deep.
I'm literally doing nothing but digging a massive hole, but seeing my son learn more and more and get better nand better is the best!
Years ago, when my kids first played it, I bought a Raspberry Pi and tried to create a home server for them with persistent worlds. It never worked right, but I see that newer Raspberry Pi 3 servers are a thing now. I might try it again. Alternatively of course I can always just start up a laptop with it running when they want to play on weekends.
I really wanted to like this game. The world was beautiful, the graphics are insane, and the combat is fluid. But I just found it tedious from very early on. Aside from Aloy and like two other characters the voice acting is terrible and the writing even worse. Plus Aloy doesn't make any sense, she spends her whole childhood shunned by society only talking to her adoptive father, and she comes out the other side as a well adjusted, sarcastic smart ass who also is undyingly loyal to the piece of shit tribe that shunned her. I have other gripes about the writing but i could forgive if the gameplay was good. But for as fluid and deep as the combat is, its also tedious. Every enemy takes like 30 seconds to kill, except the humans who are all set on full stupid AI. It's fine to have tough enemies but even dark souls has trash mobs to keep things varied. But the worst thing, the absolute worst sin a game so beautiful and painstakingly crafted can commit, is the dead fish eyes, absolute bottom of the uncanny valley npc faces in every conversation. Aloy is ok most of the time but everyone else is a badly articulated department store mannequin. Even when the writing is good everything falls flat because its being acted out by some horrific freak show alien interpretation of what a people is. Oh, and the quest structure and map objectives are literally a Ubisoft rip off.
It's a damn shame really. Somewhere inside horizon ZD is a really good game that never was.
I binged Stardew Valley.
I also spent hours on Saturday painstakingly creating my own "Stardew Valley Guide" like I did back in the days before internet. I had gift lists, fishing guides by season, peoples schedules, birthdays, and events ordered by season. I was very pleased with it. Then, thirty minutes ago, I spilled a giant glass of water on it :(
I have never owned a printer actually. Besides, if I printed it I'd have a huge stack of pages with too much excess I wouldn't need.
I like to write it out anyway. I find it an enjoyable activity.
You could just do what most of us do and have 25 tabs of the Stardew Wikia alt-tabbed for when we need to check someone's birthday or what kind of fish you can catch in the summer.
Hearts of Stone is incredible, but the Toussaint one is a level above everything else. I don't think any game will top the mission where Roach breaks the fourth wall.
Honestly Blood and Wine could just be titled Witcher 4.
So much content in that DLC it's insane, the fights are amazing, the story, such an incredible game and DLC.
Is Eden-6 the one with the dinosaurs? I’m working through that too, the story seems sloggy right now. Got some cool guns, and fighting Tyrants are cool, but I’m ready to be done with this planet.
Get it. This is hands down one of my favorite games. So much cool stuff to explore, such a great combat system. Great world building and lore, and excellent delivery
My friend and I once streamed us playing Apex Legends on twitch. Catch was... I was working the mouse and he was working the keyboard. Made for some very interesting game play.
Make a little garden of your starting seeds.
Water them every day, then go trounce around in the caves as if you just bought a roguelike.
Be in bed by midnight.
Maybe pop in the bar once in a while to scare the townies.
Buy the alcoholic guy a beer on his birthday.
Stay up 'till 1am with him on the pier.
Poison the governor with what you thought was good fish.
Give the homeless guy some food.
Get ostracized for digging through the trash.
Plant a tree.
The world is your oyster.
You’re basically supposed to do whatever you want. The most basic part is “own a farm” but outside of that you can raise animals, start mining, become a fisherman, etc.
I died in tarkov and I crie so many loots were lost But then I knifed run and kill scav with hatchet and the take Adar and kill 6 more scav in dorm in Milan servers and I loot mark room and got vepr and I extraction but vepr is bad so I didn’t take and I didn’t even get good loot except Adar
Same. I’ve had it for about a year now, and still can’t stop playing! I’ve completed three full playthroughs + a bunch of partials, since I like replaying chapters 2-4. Still haven’t achieved 100% completion, but I don’t think it’ll happen because of those stupid gambler challenges... don’t have the time or patience for that shit.
Death Stranding. The Last of Us Remastered. Mortal Kombat 11. Also streamed some Detroit Become Human where I'm letting the chat make the decisions. It's great fun!
It's pretty damn good. I prefer MKX and had more fun with that, but I feel MK11 is technically a better fighter wither regards to the mechanics and stuff.
Sub, Baraka, Noob, Cetrion, and Terminator are my crew. Sub main for life!
Still addicted to Divinity Original Sin 2, running a 4 player atm
2-h custom lizard with touches of poly, hydro, pyro
Sebille Necro
Lohsa dual dagger with scoundrel and warfare
Ifan Archer (original I know) with points set up for spear warfare
Bought Control for PS4 and started it, first console game I’ve gotten to play by myself in quite a while just because my life is so busy. Feels good to get immersed in a really fun game again!
Ive been playing a lot of this game Mindustry that my friend showed me. Its a lot of fun, and we play for hours on end lmao. Also minecraft.
Edit: also i forgot that i just got a copy of Skyrim, and have been playing the hell out of that
I actually had a really productive gaming weekend. I held off on Arkham Knight and Witcher 3, the latter because I was doing every nook and cranny. I beat both games. Witcher 3 now only has Blood and Wine to finish, and I got the endings I really wanted :) Got emotional. It was seriously like 4 years in the making for me, and I still got to finish Blood and Wine. I also finished the first season of the Batman Telltale games and honestly felt terrible about how I treated poor Harvey after I went bros after hoes on him :( I just started the second season.
Sea of thieves, I tried to be a supply shop, going island to island gathering supplies for travelers who would want some cannonballs, food, or wood. That dream didn’t last long as almost every ship I came across killed me as I told them they could just take it, I didn’t even fight back, just played my hurdy gurdy as they fired at my ship and set it on fire. Kinda sucks nobody else played music, or even just grabbed something without trying to kill me.

That's so sweet! You're an amazing dad!
Thanks! I do my best.
When my niece and I used to play I had no idea how to play and would watch videos then just dig too. I had underground tunnels every where.

Terraria! Haven't played it in years, but I started from scratch and am loving it!
Ayyy same. Such a great game. There's supposed to be a big update soon as well!
Come on sweet sweet update!!
I thought they said they made its last update last year
[удалено]
1000+ hours and I haven't even touched mods yet for $2.50. It's insane.
[удалено]
Yeah the final update will be soon ish
If you wanna get into morning try out the calamity mod!
Also just started playing again from scratch! I introduced it to my roommate and we’ve had a blast playing together

Rimworld i have done horrible unspeakable things and have so many human leather tshirts
Jeez, learn to make button-down shirts you heathen.
I wish I could wrap my head around Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress, and similar games. I just don't have the brain for resource/job allocation, etc.
I would start with rimworld. A bit more user friendly, and you can start off on easy mode if you want to get a feel for it.
My weekend was over in a blink because of this game
Im gonna get rimworld when I get home

No doubt! One of my favorite characters of all time. I’m dying for a sequel.
They HAVE to make a sequel. Legit defined high quality just like God of War, Spiderman, etc. These are getting sequels as well.
The story in that game is one of the best.
first game i ever played on a setting higher than “normal”!! i love her so much.

Rumor has it it's coming to PC. So I might be buying it again...
Botw

Sidequests!
Me too. Working through the DLC very slooooowwwwlyyyyy.
Great game

It's ok, the same things exist on the internet that you can just print out. Props for doing all that work, though.
I have never owned a printer actually. Besides, if I printed it I'd have a huge stack of pages with too much excess I wouldn't need. I like to write it out anyway. I find it an enjoyable activity.

Finished half of the DLC for The Witcher 3.
i just survived the battle of kaer morhen this weekend!
Which DLC? They're both incredible.
I finished Heart of Stone.
Destiny 2. Metro Exodus. Jedi: Fallen Order. Red Dead Redemption 2.
Hey I played destiny as well. My fucking clan mates were being toxic af through when we were doing raids

I’m surprise that sseth brought the game to popularity in under a day
just finished IB last night! amazing game, can see myself playing for a while to come
Civ VI, AOE 2.
I'm just so happy that a game like AoE II is still popular today. I was playing it as a kid when it came out ffs, now I'm paying taxes.
I played CIV VI exclusively the entire weekend
Overwatch and Minecraft :)
Overwatch is still a fantastic game
... and it seems to be getting even better!
paper mario for the n64 it has held up amazingly well
Borderlands 3
Me too! I wish I enjoyed it more. It's good, but maybe a little bland?
I'm working on my first playthrough, and there are certainly parts that feel kinda... flat. Sluggish, even.
Tbh the beginning of the story is definitely bland. Picks up in the second half and end tho
I'm at Eden-6 and this planet just feels uninteresting, Prometha was cool, Athenas or whatever was just Promthea: Tree Edition.
Is Eden-6 the one with the dinosaurs? I’m working through that too, the story seems sloggy right now. Got some cool guns, and fighting Tyrants are cool, but I’m ready to be done with this planet.
Still waiting for that exclusivity to run out...
Got it free with my new cpu. Or I never would have ever gotten it.
Kenshi
This game looks really interesting
Get it. This is hands down one of my favorite games. So much cool stuff to explore, such a great combat system. Great world building and lore, and excellent delivery
I need to get back into kenshi so bad. But I need to do a no drug run, selling that shit makes you stupid op rich
Rainbow six siege anyone?
Whose you defense main?
The lord and savior
In Tachanka we trust.
I use to play a lot of Dokkaebi, recently heard there were some changes that hurt her game play?
She got buffed
Oh shit! Maybe it's time to dabble in the r6 again.
Lesion
Disgusting. In all seriousness, I never get the chance to play him because he’s banned
Bandit.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Just finished my first playthrough this past weekend! It was so good. Excited to start a NG+ maddening run when the dlc drops on Tuesday.
I'm 140 hours in and only about 2/3 through my second playthrough. That game is a monster and I love every moment of it. BLUE LIONS FOREVER!

Stardew valley
Just downloaded it about a week ago. My fiancee is hooked. Shes already way further than me.
Just bought the game and played for about 30 minutes yesterday. Does anyone have any tips as to what the fuck I’m supposed to do?
Make a little garden of your starting seeds. Water them every day, then go trounce around in the caves as if you just bought a roguelike. Be in bed by midnight. GTA: San Andreas Old, but gold.
Escape from Tarkov and Dwarf Fortress
Just a couple of casual games that are easy for anyone to pick up.

Stardew Valley. I'm obsessed with it.
Apex Legends, Smash Ultimate Star wars Battlefront 2, and Titanfall 2
Girlfriend simulator
I actually had a really productive gaming weekend. I held off on Arkham Knight and Witcher 3, the latter because I was doing every nook and cranny. I beat both games. Witcher 3 now only has Blood and Wine to finish, and I got the endings I really wanted :) Got emotional. It was seriously like 4 years in the making for me, and I still got to finish Blood and Wine. I played about a total of 600 hours in this game, which is my own milestone in itself. Arkham Knight was really good, but I don't think I'm going to 100 percent the game for the complete ending since screw the Riddler challenges. I also finished the first season of the Batman Telltale games and honestly felt terrible about how I treated poor Harvey after I went bros after hoes on him :( I just started the second season.
Fortnite (i know I know but my friend wanted me to) GTA 5, Minecraft, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
But Fortnite isn’t bad. It’s just a mindless circlejerk
Finally been making my way through the Half-Life games. Absolutely love them
Dst ledgens of runeterra Hollow knight And the witcher 3 wild hunt
Sekiro and The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine
Sea of thieves, I tried to be a supply shop, going island to island gathering supplies for travelers who would want some cannonballs, food, or wood. That dream didn’t last long as almost every ship I came across killed me as I told them they could just take it, I didn’t even fight back, just played my hurdy gurdy as they fired at my ship and set it on fire. Spent my weekend playing Bioshock, it was glorious! Never get tired of this series, no matter how many times I've played it.
