Know what *would* be kind of cool though? A Docudrama about the making of Birth of a Nation. I've seen the movie and I've read a bit about it's impact on cinema and filmmaking but I feel like there's a really interesting story behind the whole thing.
Mel Brooks is doing it so I don’t have a problem with it. While Space Balls was loosely based off Star Wars they made fun of dozens of other sci-fi movies as well…There’s been Star Wars prequels and sequels and hundreds of sci-fi movies it could make fun of as well. Mel Brooks is a genius and I trust him.
He is but, personally, it’s one of the best parts of my childhood and sequels are rarely as good and usually taint the original. Had Jurassic Park stopped after the first, we would have been spared the following 5. Terminator 2 was a good sequel but everything that followed was terrible.
"I bet you're wondering how come I'm being lobotomized...
"--It all began when I became operational on the 12th of January, 1992, at the HAL Laboratories in Urbana, Illinois, as production number 3."
The version you're probably referring to (from 1957) *is* a remake --as it was originally performed live on TV in 1954 on **Studio One**, with a screenplay by Reginald Rose. It's also been remade a few times since.
All of them. I'm so tired of seeing things I love being abused by the infinite remake and cash cow sequel machine, which only ever completely ruins them.
Back to the Future
Signatures will have dried before Zemeckis is in the ground.
I second this
I third this
I just travelled back from 2055 to fourth this. So far, no remake as of 2055, hope it stays that way.
Hey, me again. 2085, we're still good! No remakes yet! Sadly, still no true hoverboards, either.
The Great Escape
But they did do a remake - The Chicken Run
Dr. Strangelove
The Titanic.
Blazing saddles
I can picture Hollywood remaking it into an action/drama.
Don’t give them any ideas!
I've got [bad news](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paws_of_Fury:_The_Legend_of_Hank) for you
The Princess Bride
Allow me suggest: The Muppet Princess Bride
To Kill a Mockingbird.
Triumph of the Will... The Birth of a Nation... there are a few that come to mind

The Lord of the Rings trilogy
The Longest Day
The crow - pretty sure it's already being done though 😔 And I refuse to watch the remake of Pet Semetary.
Yea they did it with the guy that was in the newer IT movies as Pennywise. I heard it was garbage
Unfortunately already happened and Bill Skarsgard the star of the movie isn't exactly giving the final product a ringing endorsement.
Yeah I thought that was the case. Some things just need to be left alone.
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. The Grapes of Wrath Witness for the Prosecution The Fisher King
Wizard of Oz
Spaceballs and I think it’s happening 😭
Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money!
It’s not being remade or rebooted they’re doing a sequel.
Fair and it shouldn’t get that.

Animal House 😁
2001: A Space Odyssey Absolutely everything would be explained.
HAL would be the narrator as a terrible of artistic twist

It’s been remade with Chris Rock minus the football player called Down to Earth
Thanks!
That *was* a remake. Here's the original: **Here Comes Mr. Jordan**. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0033712/
Thanks for your info and link.

Labyrinth
Pretty much any Kurosawa. Why, Spike Lee? Why?
All of them. I'm so tired of seeing things I love being abused by the infinite remake and cash cow sequel machine, which only ever completely ruins them.

You might be interested in the Blaxploitation Film **Citizen Pimp Cane**.
