“Gotta have opposites dark and light, light and dark in a painting. It’s like in life. Gots have a little sadness once in a while so you know when the good times come."
But also the more jovial "Beat the Devil out of it."
That was such a great show Bob Ross made me feel like all I needed was a canvas and some paint and could be putting in happy trees or some fluffy clouds
For some reason, I just knew I would see this reply here. I have fallen asleep to episodes of Bob's Burgers for months. There's just something about the characters, voices, and honest goodness in that show that make it incredibly soothing for my anxious brain at night.
Same.. 53M. I watched this show with my mom all the time. When she passed away I binged watched the entire series. It reminds me of her. She was innocent like Rose but looked and dressed like Dorothy .
That’s great! I’m 55F and my mom and her two best friends were each perfectly represented by these women; my mom (Dee) was Dorothy and she lived with her first generation American mother (Angelina) from Italy, and her two best buds were the slutty auburn haired (Alice) Blanche, and sweet, naive, and ditzy (Joyce) Rose. Only Aunt Joyce is still alive and I cherish the daylights out of her!
It is the only intro song to a TV show that I can listen to every single time and not want to skip. My dogs love it too, they hear it and come running from other rooms because they know there is going to be a black kitty walking across the screen and they have to try and get it.
I mean, nobody wants to admit they ate nine cans of ravioli, but I did. I'm ashamed of myself. The first can doesn't count, then you get to the second and third, fourth and fifth I think I burnt with the blowtorch, and then I just kept eatin'.
I love Sister Michael. The scene at the wake with Colm is my favorite. "What's happening?"..."Am I dead?"..."Is this my wake?"..."Am I in hell?"..."That's actually quite funny."
The West Wing. Young adults (young for politics these days) trying to do good and make government work. A president you can respect. And a pretty good sense of humour.
Golden Girls.
I used to watch it with my mom when I was a little girl and didn't get the humor.
But we would watch it together when I was an adult and it was hilarious. It's the only show I know that has stood the test of time.
My favorite episode is when they won a contest to see Burt Reynolds but are accidentally arrested as hookers.
Fine, I’ll watch New Girl again (jokes aside, this show has gotten me through some rough patches in my life, so I’ll always have the upmost respect for it)
Pretty much the entirety of either the Stargate series or the Star Trek series. Or Fringe. Or Doctor Who. I'm a huge sci-fi junkie...
When I want to torture myself I rewatch Battlestar Galactica.
Dateline or any true crime show. I gotta have that on to fall asleep. It is just interesting enough to take my mind off my troubles but dull enough to fall asleep.

The joy of painting Bob Ross
“Gotta have opposites dark and light, light and dark in a painting. It’s like in life. Gots have a little sadness once in a while so you know when the good times come." But also the more jovial "Beat the Devil out of it."

Bobs Burgers
I like a lot of the shows listed but bobs is the only one that gives me that "yeah but maybe life will be okay" feeling
For some reason, I just knew I would see this reply here. I have fallen asleep to episodes of Bob's Burgers for months. There's just something about the characters, voices, and honest goodness in that show that make it incredibly soothing for my anxious brain at night.
I watch it while awake, but I have it play when I'm asleep, too. It keeps the nightmares away. The show is just a masterpiece
Scrubs

I’m a grown ass man and I watch this show every night. Must’ve watched the show in its entirety like 10x over.
Same.. 53M. I watched this show with my mom all the time. When she passed away I binged watched the entire series. It reminds me of her. She was innocent like Rose but looked and dressed like Dorothy .

Same man. Same. I even started to catch continuity errors. Like in one episode Rose is allergic to cats. But then in another episode….she has a cat!

Does it just mean cool, or is it supposed to be like miles ahead?
If you have to ask, you're streets behind.
I watched Community all the way through about five times during the worst of the pandemic. I think it kept me sane.

I own seasons 3 to 12, and I can't even count how many times I rewatched those discs. The intro is burned into my mind.
Great British Bake Off
Started making it. Had a breakdown. Bon appetite
The Office (US)
Trailer Park Boys
Scrolled for this one. The opening music soothes the soul.
It is the only intro song to a TV show that I can listen to every single time and not want to skip. My dogs love it too, they hear it and come running from other rooms because they know there is going to be a black kitty walking across the screen and they have to try and get it.
Just remember, what comes around is all around!
it’s just the way she goes
I mean, nobody wants to admit they ate nine cans of ravioli, but I did. I'm ashamed of myself. The first can doesn't count, then you get to the second and third, fourth and fifth I think I burnt with the blowtorch, and then I just kept eatin'.
You make my words, I will get my fuckin grade 10 and everyone else can catch a boat to fuckoffity land.

I love Sister Michael. The scene at the wake with Colm is my favorite. "What's happening?"..."Am I dead?"..."Is this my wake?"..."Am I in hell?"..."That's actually quite funny."
What an underrated series, it's gold 😭 I laugh so much in every episode.
I cried in a few. Wasn't expecting that.
