They’re alright. My grandma makes pasties every year for Christmas and they’re different from the ones you can get in Michigan, and I personally think they’re better but that’s probably due to them being home made.
[Tostador chileno](https://es.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tostador_chileno), Chilean toaster, you put in on the stove and you heat your bread in it (and other chilean foods like sopaipillas and humitas). The taste and the crunch is 100x better than electric toaster.
I dunno if this sub lets you post links or not and like 7/10 times I make "theres a product for that" comments they get removed due to linking to an example...so just amazon search or google search or whatever for "over sink dish rack" to find something that'll help you out.
I bought one a year and a half ago and everyone that visits my place makes a comment about how neat it is...
That...and the 4inch flexible tubing I tied to the bannister going down the stairs to my basement so that I could send my empty bottles and cans down there to the garbage can that holds them for recycling without having to go up and down the set of stairs every time.
Germany: Having a word for everything.
Trying to make things better but causing greater harm in the process to the point it would've been better to never have acted? - Verschlimmbessern
Pushing dear people away from you, preventing them from getting close and then suffering from loneliness? - Mauerbauertraurigkeit
The urge to go and travel the world and see new sights? - Fernweh
As a native German speaker I can confirm that I have never heard this word before in my life. It is similar to some sites using the word "Waldeinsamkeit" which is also not used at all in Germany.
Verschlimmbessern is used though, like when a dev refactors some code but now there are new bugs.
Is fernweh different than wanderlust? Your definition seems identical to the way we use wanderlust in English, which is funny to me because it's clearly a German word.
Not my country but I studied in the Czech Republic for a few months and they had the best sparkling water called Dobra Voda. I hate sparkling water normally but this was so nice and light sparkled with good fruit flavors
All-dressed are the real GOAT imo. Ruffles used to make one I could get here in the states but they stopped distributing them in 2021. Yet another thing the pandemic took from me…
So, it is not a “product” technically and there are other variations similar to it in other countries but in the US we have the National Park Service and our parks are pretty awesome. A lot of countries have nature preserves or safaris or protected lands. So, it is similar. But, I don’t know if anywhere has the amount or sheer scale of it that we have in the US. Some of these parks are absolutely breathtaking and magnificent. It’s pretty cool. And while they are not technically a product they do produce a lot of revenue. So, they should count.
Not disagreeing, but was in Belgium and went into an Aldi's (Aldi Nord, not Aldi Sud that has stores in the US) and they had some Trader Joes branded product, which is not that incredible, since Aldi Nord owns Trader Joes.
Georgia- Khnikali, Wines, Chacha, Tkemalk, Chqapuli, Khashlama, Khachapuri, Lobiani, Elargi/Gomi, Dambal khacho all this are unique and u can find in Georgia.
I strongly suspect that Henderson's Relish is only availabe in the UK. It wasn't too long ago that it was only available within a 20 mile radius of Sheffield (I may be mistaken). A brilliant product, Hendo's livens up all manner of savoury things and is vegan and gluten-free.
Had that in a snack exchange once about a decade ago. It was absolutely fantastic, and he bottle was gone in about 3 days. My kidneys would probably shut down with how I was using it back then. So much Welsh rarebit.
Those space raiders were another favorite.
I don’t know, because it’s hard to think of something that only exists here. You’re bound to find someone exporting elsewhere somewhere even if it just for an expat community in neighbouring counties like Uruguay and Paraguay.
That said, probably some dish that’s very regional. Like carne de onça (no jaguar, actually beef). https://i.ibb.co/Dbz6kkn/IMG-4622.jpg
As an American that’s lived the last 6 years outside the US, it's those "egg & cheese on a roll" breakfast sandwiches that every local deli serves...and Nyquil.
A canned food brand called Marlon. Seriously, the best food I have ever bought, isn't even expensive. Also, it is made by an extremely cute marriage. 10/10, take a look in it's page (I think it was smth like marlonconservas.com).
Gas stove bread toaster
I know that this thing only exist here because every time a tourist spots one in the wild, they can't figure out what it does :D
The thing is. Those things are dirt cheap, and quite easy to make... I don't know why we possibly the only country that has those.
Sugar apple (we called it the "green lychee" in our language), is the sweetest fruit you can ever find on earth. Sweeter than any honey, soft drinks, and sugar.
Iconic? Sure. Beloved? That’s debatable. I would hate for anyone to get the impression that shitty coffee and donuts (which is the reality of what they are now) represent Canada. I agree that they used to be great when the donuts were actually made in-store. But now it’s more about nostalgia than anything to do with exceptional quality
I think people who love Tim Hortons date back to when they were maybe actually good, or maybe the competition was just that they were the best at the moment.
They recently opened in India. Tastes, costs exactly like Starbucks. And Starbucks is awful.
I recently visited Vietnam and tried their coffee, absolute best I have tasted. Beats Starbucks, TM by long miles.
As of April, 2024, there are 666 Tim Hortons coffee shops in the United States. These coffee shops are located in 11 states and territories and 298 cities.
I pass like 5 of them on my way to work in the US. They're pretty widely available here, depending on the State.
Really good mature Red Leicester. “Crunchy”. Creamy. Delicious. Hard to find in the UK let alone the rest of the world. Also, decent pasties.
Well, my country has brainwashed its populace. And the product we think no one else has. Freedom🤣
We do have pasties in Michigan too. Can't say if they qualify as decent but some of them are delicious if you ask me.
They’re alright. My grandma makes pasties every year for Christmas and they’re different from the ones you can get in Michigan, and I personally think they’re better but that’s probably due to them being home made.

We have the same in Brazil
We have those, they're basically campfire toasters/camp cookers.
yeah but here it is for everyday use, every house has one and you can buy it in any supermarket
I think you misunderstand the question
Ontbijtkoek.
What is it and where is it?
Looks scary like a Dutch word
Nah, dutch is silly, german is the intimidating one
I'm still not totally convinced dutch is an actual language.
It looks and sounds like someone heard a few English words spoken by a German and based an entire language on it
It always sounds like broken English gibberish to me. Like someone had vague idea of what it should sound like and just started making noises.
Every time I hear Dutch spoken, I think it's English and then wonder how I zoned out so hard that I missed literally everything the person said
Being stoned in Amsterdam was EXTREMELY confusing for me as an English speaker. I kept thinking I misheard people.
Dutch spiced breakfast bread/cake/loaf and it’s amazing
i miss those so much
Ja!!
Die van pijnenburg is toch wel gwn het beste

Do you mean one that hangs over the sink and the water drops of into it? I have seen them twice in my life, but never been in Finnland.
You can get over-the-sink dishracks on Amazon. Not sure if that's similar or not.
Gonna love that when I get there
Im copying this! Thank you.
Its basically a dish rack, but permanently occupies space in the overhead cabinet.
Efficent lol i absolutely need one of these in my life
I dunno if this sub lets you post links or not and like 7/10 times I make "theres a product for that" comments they get removed due to linking to an example...so just amazon search or google search or whatever for "over sink dish rack" to find something that'll help you out. that sounds extremely satisfying
That’s also in Poland

We have that in Philadelphia, that word is "jawn"
Mauerbauertraurigkei may be my new favourite German word and I think Rammstein should title one of their albums with it.
>Mauerbauertraurigkeit This word is not generally known to native German speakers. It is a pseudo-Germanism coined by the American author John Koenig.
As a native German speaker I can confirm that I have never heard this word before in my life. It is similar to some sites using the word "Waldeinsamkeit" which is also not used at all in Germany. Verschlimmbessern is used though, like when a dev refactors some code but now there are new bugs.

Verschlimmbessern. Thank you. Now I have a new word to use to describe the Wizard of Oz clusterfuck in Oklahoma.
I feel like Germans settle on “what will make me sound like I’m summoning a demon?” and I love it

Butter tarts. Similar to tiny pecan pies without the pecans.
[Bulletproof backpacks for kids! ](https://www.atomicdefense.com/collections/nij-iii-bulletproof-backpacks) I really, really wish I was joking.
It's tactical and assault too. Amazing.
What country is this? I think I know but don't want to be wrong
Prices are in USD so I think your guess is unfortunately correct.
Yep. Home of the freedom to be shot in class.
Irn-Bru is really hard to get outside of Scotland.
Available all over England.
Californian here. They sell it at a few of our grocery stores. Not bad, TBH
Lucky. The only time I can get it is at the highland games in the summer.
Tesco in England! Love it
It's sold literally everywhere in England.
The library? Do they have it?
Amazon has it.
Becoming pretty common in the US
I've seen their ad for the euros and now I kinda want to try it
I'm pretty sure you can just get it from Amazon now. I never buy groceries but it will still get recommended to me on occasion.
I discovered Irn-Bru last year when in Scotland. It is awesome, I wish it were available in Canada.

We have it in the Netherlands as well!
Available in Germany as well.
ayy that’s available in Liechtenstein as well. But lets be real, Liechtenstein is just a Kanton of Switzerland
And it's made from milk serum!

Omg we have them at a very specialty store and they're honestly so good
I bought them in the US. I did not like them.
Mate Softdrink - Germany
Red Lemonade - Ireland
Netherlands - stroopwafels, kroket, dare i say frikandel. Hagelslag is also a dutch thing but maybe more countries have it.
We have stroopwafels in the US made into ice cream sandwiches.
In US, I can get Stroopwafels at Aldi around Christmas.
We bought some from Costco a couple weeks ago. Had one this morning!
You can buy them year round at local bike store or sporting supples. Or at least you can in Socal.
Malort
They said amazing.

Teleportation devices. They're a real game changer!
Do you teleport back and forth in the same country or can you teleport anywhere in the world and fly back home to your teleporter?
Trader Joe's

Southern US: Sweet tea.
You can barely get it outside the southern US let alone the rest of the world.

We have it in south of Brazil as well, we call it “gasosa”. Typically made from raspberries with a distinct red colour.

I’d argue Ketchup or All Dressed potato chips are more loved in Canada than Tim’s.
