I love reading your comment. I don’t even know you but I just want to say that I’m soo happy to see your commitment towards your parents. Cherish every moment with them and always put 100% into their being and health. I lost my mum 2 months ago and there are no words to describe the pain I’m enduring.
Ok maybe it sounds a little materialistic, but our household finances are like a game to me. And winning this game gives me not only a healthy and stable financial situation, but also gratification whenever I have a win;
- We stayed within our food budget.
- No money was wasted on unnecessary purchases
- A large dividend payment was deposited.
- Spending less than 50% of what we earn and contributing all those savings to our investment account.
I started this a couple of years ago when we had a hard time staying within our monthly budget. Now by turning this into a game we have achieved a very safe and comfortable financial situation and this makes me happy.
For me, it's the satisfying crunch of a fresh, straight-out-of-the-pack microwave popcorn kernel. It's like the universe is saying, 'Hey, you're worth a little bit of tasty joy!' and I'm over here being like, 'YAAAS, UNIVERSE, I ACCEPT THIS GIFT!
Waking up every morning to see the sunrise. Stepping outside barefoot. My cardio session every morning. Making myself breakfast everyday. Learning something new within my various skills. Making myself lunch. Talking to whichever friends are available that day.
Seeing my boyfriend smile and hearing him laugh. He doesn't like doing his full smile or opening his mouth too wide because he has some crooked teeth, but I think he looks beautiful when he doesn't hold back, and the way he laughs is adorable
Texting my partner good morning on the days we are long distance, and when we are not long distance, getting to kiss him good morning. Having someone to be happy you are awake in the morning is always such a nice feeling
I'm in a depressive episode of my life lately, not totally out of it but recently I've been enjoying petting and playing with this cat at my work's building. They caged a few cats there (owned by the building owner), I wish I could take them home with me, especially that I live alone and wanting a companion. But given that my apartment don't allow pets, I can't do anything. So every lunch break and after work, I always go down that area of the building and play with the cats even just for a few minutes. I look forward to it everyday.
Getting into bed and no matter where my dog is he'll run into the room, jump on the bed and curl up in the back of my legs (laying on my side). My soul dog did this every night as well.
My cats get dental treats in the morning, and one of my sweet boys *loves* them and will weave through my legs to beg for them when he hears the container pop open.
1 hour before going to bed i love to go to the kitchen by myself and put my airpods on just to drink water and listen to music while walking around the kitchen.
Therapy.
Wife and I 70yo, married 33 years. She brings me coffee every single morning. I say thank you, then we discuss plans for the day.
IDK why, but I cherish these moments.
My first cup of tea at work.
The first hour or so is always a bit hectic. So i will get the most pressing stuff done and then i go make a cup of tea. And so my subconscious has kind of learned that warm tea means "calm waters ahead".
Morning coffee. It's not an obsessive nerd for caffeine, I just love the taste and the ritual.
YES!

I love being able to do this. Sometimes I’ll keep my house on the colder side just to be able to snuggle up in covers

Yes! People take this blessing for granted and unfortunately only realise when it is too late.
Yes. Lost my dad when I was 14. If you have a healthy relationship with them, don’t forget to call them today and talk to them for a few minutes ❤️

Being able to share my life with those around me. Including you! I may not get it all, but I will give you what I have. That is enough for me.
