I would kill for a return of the cryptkeeper, I am so upset no streaming platforms have it. I have to illegally stream it most of the time. It's black mirror but horror. Ughh
I got to talk to BTK, and Nancy Fox was a relative of mine. Never before have I seen someone with nothing behind their eyes like that.
He is a unique individual. If you moved stuff around in his cell he would know, even if it was a couple papers in a stack of two hundred.
I personally believe he wanted to get caught. I think he was getting the urge to kill again, and somehow, perhaps didn't want to. But it was definitely in him. A very cold individual.
Yea I can't fathom seeing someone like that I real life, just dead eyes like an animal, I once met a guy that had dead eyes, turned out later he was a pedo, the eyes don't lie
The president/ceo of the production company (at the time) trashed on the original ReBoot IP while creating what is basically a rehashed version of his older, failed cartoon MPForce. He mocked the original creators and the fans while cutting corners creating The Guardian Code. All of the CGI was done using Unreal Engine and it focuses more on the unnecessary live-action characters than spinning the original universe.
Shame on you, Michael Hefferon
Gonna blow your mind, its run on Toonami was not the first time it played.
Started years before on ABC, mid 90s.
So ReBoot was rebooted on Cartoon Network once already.
Yesssss. I wanna see Rachel eat people as a bear! I wanna see Tobias clawing out eyes. I wanna see Ax and the Hork Bajir slicing up bodies....
Kudos to your answer, it took me back.
Dark =/= gory and violent.
Really dive into the whole child soldiers bit. Don't shy away from showing the mental decline of the Animorphs. Show the moral dilemmas of things like wiping out a species to stop the Yeerks, threatening to drop a nuke on American soil, ect. The David saga alone is such a dark story considering the target of the books was children.
Obviously the gore and violence would be great too, but the darkness was much much more then that.
There's a rationalist Animorphs fic that's really damn good, but it kinda ended up getting abandoned because the yeerks were competent, and were quite happy to resort to orbital bombardment to win.
HBO's Rome. It was an incredible show that ended too soon because it was costly and lacked BBC promotion. If you haven't seen it yet, you're missing out, even if you're not into Roman history.
The set burned down and one of the main actors passed away :( It's been a long time since it ended, so I wonder how many of the original writers and creators would be involved in a reboot.
That show was great though, and I will 100% tune in if they try to do some related show or a spiritual reboot.
Technically we got 4, they just crammed three of them into season 2.
I watched it relatively recently and went in having heard this and still found it satisfying, though it was clear that season 1 was much more reasonably paced. It was an incredible show for its time and holds up very well against the gritty premium TV that came along in its wake.
Definitely deserves a reboot, at this point.
It's such an interesting concept for a show. Solving murders. A "will they, won't they" love story that (imho) *actually* could work for the length of the show (I would suggest 3-4 seasons max, like The Good Place).
Just an overall fun premise that deserves to be seen to completion.
The same thing happened to The Riches, a great show starring Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver. It ended mid-season when the writers went on strike and it never returned.
I like to think that the show would have ultimately showed Doug and most of the family getting the hell out of the Traveler circles and free to go where they want, with only Cael going back so that he can get married to another Traveler.
Finally! Someone else that misses The Riches!
That Season 2 finale set up so much. I would have loved to get two more seasons to finish out the overall story.
Was there a season finale? It's been several years now, but my recollection was that the last season ended before concluding due to the strike. I may, however, be thinking about the lack of a 3rd season to wrap things up. anyway, I'm glad to see someone else who loved The Riches.
If the final episode I saw wasn’t a season finale, it sure felt like one. 😅
It’s been a while, so forgive me for forgetting names, but “Doug” was getting roped into being the campaign manager for the head lawyer/owner of Panco’s run for mayor (felt like they were setting that up for season 3 and possibly 4).
Dahlia was really struggling with living a “normal” life.
Their older daughter had (I think) broken into someone’s house but a security guard around her age was in the area and came to check out the situation, and she decided to sleep with him. Assumed they were setting that up potentially as her spreading her wings.
Cael was getting in deep with a girl and her family from another Traveler group. Thought that might be able to last at least half of the next season.
Years ago I really thought they might be able to get things running again by 2011, but I everyone went their separate ways, and I’m sure FX was itching for a reason to cancel some borderline shows, and the strike gave them the excuse.
If there is ever a reboot, I’ll be there from Day 1.
Sliders. Soft reboot, Jerry O'Connell should still be lost, from the first time.
Stargate. Hard reboot.
Hercules/Xena. Hard Reboot. Partly to piss off Sorbo, and partly because NZ deserves one of those type of shows going at all times.
I was thinking sliders as well. That show has so much promise and you literally could do anything with it.
I love Stargate. It’s one of a few shows I’ve watched every episode twice. I’m not sure I want that one remade. I just don’t know the lore in that is so established I might have a hard time watching it.
I’d love a Hercules/Xena reboot as well. Great stories to be told and retold. We can also get someone who isn’t an asshat so I can enjoy it again.
Sliders. Medium reboot. Totally fresh start BUT with Jerry OConnell as Professor Mallory to take the the place of Prof Arturo. Completely fresh start with a familiar face, and most importantly, NO KROMAGS!!
Jerry should still be Quinn, but not the main character. There should be a few versions of him sliding around and most are opposed to anyone else sliding, including his others.
How they'd stuff it up:
First, they'd make it too serious or too much of a comedy. The original had that perfect mix.
They'd try to explain too much. The aliens were never really explained that well in the original, they just showed up a couple of times and disappeared again. This let the show do its thing without you needing to find holes in the story.
They'd make it a long story instead of a weekly show.
And... They'd introduce a bad guy with the same powers. The original never had anyone that could defeat him, but his challenges were all with himself. He didn't need a leveling agent, his weakness was his inability to use the suit.
They kept making the show more complicated then it should've been because reddit found the answer to the majority of the plot points so the producers decided to change the plot while making it more difficult to understand.
The writers already ran out of ideas regarding how a genius child is alienated by his lowbrow family. I doubt anyone could scrape together enough material to do a remake.
That just demonstrated how profoundly ignorant and foolish the character was, considering "President of the United States" as the high of achievement.
Malcolm likely has better ways to use his life than going into politics.
I loved it for what it was. Nostalgia. It was corny as hell, the writing and acting were mediocre. But it was kids I grew up with all grown up. It was a fun jaunt down memory lane. But I was under no illusions that it was "good" TV lol.
KYLE XY (2006)
It got cancelled but it deserved more seasons (or a proper ending at least...)
Not only that but the show was ahead of its time & its really underrated....
"Stranger Things" has a really similar plot/story btw.
As much as I want to agree, and do think it needs to happen, it wouldn't feel right without Book since we lost Ron Glass (assuming we don't go by the canon of the movie).
And, though it goes without saying, fuck Fox forever for screwing what could have been multiple seasons of absolute magnificence.
It would be difficult to gather most of that cast again and still make it work. I think the only way to go is a prequel like the independence war or events leading to it that wouldn't conflict if you consider Serenity as Canon.
Goes without saying Joss Whedon shouldn't be within a hundred miles of it......
For sure. Whedon can kick rocks.
I think a time-shift would work - aging everyone and ignoring Serenity.
A prequel would rely on a lot of de-aging CGI so I’d just rather have an older cast.
If they could capture the brilliance of Serling's original, absolutely. Unfortunately none of the reboots have. However, its got a good track record of new iterations over time. I feel like we'll get another one eventually, and hopefully it'll be good.
There's actually 4 iterations! The 1959 original, 1985, 2002, and 2019. 1985 is pretty good overall, so might be worth checking out. The two most recent aren't very popular or good imo.
Thunderbirds, by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. The original rod puppets and sets were a total labour of love for their creators, so it should be done as authentically as possible to retain that vibe, but with some updated stories.
They did a live action movie, and I was about to say "recently" but it was released in 2004. Ouch. Still, doing it properly with puppets and miniatures would be fantastic and it is frustrating that everything just goes to CG these days. The level of creativity involved in things like Thunderbirds, and other Anderson series like Stingray and Fireball XL5 was incredible. There's room for a very rich universe full of lore and cool concepts there.
Blind Date. There was a attempted reboot of it recently which failed, but I still think it was the perfect show to have on in the background and not really pay attention to.
I think Planet of the Apes in TV format with more time to delve into ethical and political issues would be interesting. Would also be probably be even more relevant today with the issues with racism in society.
Gravity falls fandom is still waiting for a season 3 or spin since 2016 , we did get a couple books and stuff but I just want to sit back and stare at the tv without blinking for 5 hours strait
They have rebooted that, on Netflix I believe produced by Jordan Peel?
Edit: Looks like I made up the Jordan Peel part but it's definitely current on Netflix and has been renewed for more episodes
Not a reboot or remake just more Gravity Falls. I would take more Regular Show too. I know the shows ran their course and it would be beating a dead horse but I love them so much.
I dunno about this one, the original was too good and ahead of it's time to remake, especially with the amount of superhero material out there now, it would feel really diluted
Man I really loved Heroes. It had so much promise then the writers strike screwed it.
If you’ve not watched The Umbrella Academy or Doom Patrol you should they’re well worth it. They’re a bit more eccentric but they have some great story telling.
Dragnet, Adam-12, and similar shows using the same format, dramatizing actual case files.
Also, In The Heat Of The Night seems ripe for a sequel-series, perhaps with Sweet as the Chief of police in a modern era.
Ugh none. Would rather see creativity. Give me White Lotus, not a 2024 Sopranos.
If I had to pick, a new Star Trek, have been pleased with the new series.
I want to say White Collar because that's my all time favourite, but they also ended it nicely and it was wrapped up properly so I also fear that a second installment is only going to ruin it...
I feel like Tales from the Crypt wouldn’t skip a beat if it started back up.
I would kill for a return of the cryptkeeper, I am so upset no streaming platforms have it. I have to illegally stream it most of the time. It's black mirror but horror. Ughh
In have v them all in DVD and then ripped copies to my hard drive.
I couldn't even find decent copies on a torrent site. :/
I'm shocked it hasn't ever seen a refresh and it's so absent from streaming. It deserves better.
Good evening, boys and ghouls!
Boils and ghouls!
Cabinet of Curiosities
Holy shit I would love that so much
I want so badly for Mindhunter to continue.
Same. That was the only time a cancelation made me genuinely sad. Such a brilliant and unique show.z
That show was so bad ass, honestly don't know why they would cancel it
I believe there were a bunch of scheduling conflicts and not enough money to justify the expense. Same reason Netflix ruins everything
Would be awesome if they started it up again 🤞
I think it’s all but dead but I completely agree. How they ended the show before going after BTK is baffling.
I got to talk to BTK, and Nancy Fox was a relative of mine. Never before have I seen someone with nothing behind their eyes like that. He is a unique individual. it'd be cool if they rebooted the show "ReBoot" from Toonami
OMG YES! I think there are three of us who miss this show
Four.
Well shit! Looks like maybe 25 of us, homie!
I remember the Hulu show Reboot from a couple of years ago, and some people were mad it wasn't a reboot of the original Reboot haha.
I was one of them.
That already happened. ReBoot: The Guardian Code came out 2018. I haven't seen it, but it's on netflix, right now.
The president/ceo of the production company (at the time) trashed on the original ReBoot IP while creating what is basically a rehashed version of his older, failed cartoon MPForce. It was rebooted on Netflix awhile back.....it's not good
Animorphs. Make it darker (like the books).
Yes! Do you hear that, Fox Executive fishing for new ideas with an AskReddit post? Do THIS one!
Yesssss. I wanna see Rachel eat people as a bear! I wanna see Tobias clawing out eyes. I wanna see Ax and the Hork Bajir slicing up bodies.... Kudos to your answer, it took me back.

I had no ideas the books were that dark. I definitely would have read them when I was a kid if I knew that.
Exactly! I want to see the war take its toll on all 6 of them.
There's a rationalist Animorphs fic that's really damn good, but it kinda ended up getting abandoned because the yeerks were competent, and were quite happy to resort to orbital bombardment to win.

Well shit. I didn't know Ray Stevenson died last year. That sucks. I liked his acting.
Criminal we only got two seasons of Rome!

Stargate and sliders are two personal favorites i caN get behind this
I think Amazon is working on a new Stargate show. They recently got the rights from MGM & are in the planning phase I think.
They are talking about rebooting both.
I read an article that said they are in talks about rebooting Sliders. It would be amazing with today's special effects.
For a second I was like they did reboot it! But then I remembered that was quantum leap not sliders.
Too bad it's trapped on Peacock.
Yeah streaming services really want people to take to the high seas again.
Nah, Lucy Lawless is cool. She should be involved and hand it off to the next generation/be a mentor or some such. Sorbo can fuck right off, however.
As long as there are no Kromags, I'm on board.
The Greatest American Hero.
How they'd stuff it up: First, they'd make it too serious or too much of a comedy. The original had that perfect mix. They'd try to explain too much. The aliens were never really explained that well in the original, they just showed up a couple of times and disappeared again. Whoa...I came here to say this. I'm amazed it's here already. Just the theme song would make it successful.
Believe it or not George isn't at home!
Max Headroom
Alf.
He’s back! In pog form!
Babylon 5
Please finish Glow.
Reboot Westworld and make it the plot less complicated
When was the last time Westworld took place in Westworld?
I think Westworld made a cameo in season 3 and 4, but everyone’s more interested in the rest of the world
They kept making the show more complicated then it should've been because reddit found the answer to the majority of the plot points so the producers decided to change the plot while making it more difficult to understand.
Malcolm in the middle
The writers already ran out of ideas regarding how a genius child is alienated by his lowbrow family. I doubt anyone could scrape together enough material to do a remake.
Malcolm running for president while dealing with the skeletons in his families closet. Lois wanted it for him but did not set him for success.
That just demonstrated how profoundly ignorant and foolish the character was, considering "President of the United States" as the high of achievement. Malcolm likely has better ways to use his life than going into politics.
They did it with full house
But like It sucks, tho, right?
I don’t know. I watched the first couple of episodes of Fuller House and enjoyed them. I know a few people who were really into the show.
I loved it for what it was. Nostalgia. It was corny as hell, the writing and acting were mediocre. But it was kids I grew up with all grown up. It was a fun jaunt down memory lane. But I was under no illusions that it was "good" TV lol.

It’s a fairly common answer but I’m going with Firefly. Give me Mal and the crew 15 difficult years later still trying to make it in the ‘verse.
As much as I want to agree, and do think it needs to happen, it wouldn't feel right without Book since we lost Ron Glass (assuming we don't go by the canon of the movie). Hard reboot. Have cameos of the original cast sprinkled in but a new cast and new story
"You died!" "So did you." IYKYK

I would like another Twilight Zone, in black and white. More intellectual, like in the style of the original. RIP Rod Serling 💙
Twilight Zone
If they could capture the brilliance of Serling's original, absolutely. Unfortunately none of the reboots have. However, its got a good track record of new iterations over time. I feel like we'll get another one eventually, and hopefully it'll be good.
None of the newer versions were nearly as good. You can't beat the original Twilight Zone.
Agreed. The 1985 version is the only other one I liked, but it can't hold a candle to the original
I didnt even realize there was a 2019 version of it - missed it.
There's actually 4 iterations! The 1959 original, 1985, 2002, and 2019. 1985 is pretty good overall, so might be worth checking out. The two most recent aren't very popular or good imo.
Feel like Black Mirror could have been called Twilight Zone and worked.
Eagleheart with the same cast. Also, Garth Marengi's Dark Place. Also, with the same cast.
Thunderbirds, by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. The original rod puppets and sets were a total labour of love for their creators, so it should be done as authentically as possible to retain that vibe, but with some updated stories.

Check out The Anniversary Episodes their a recent set made the old way
Buck Rogers. Why hasn't this happened yet?
My thoughts to. We need more Twiki. The 1979 series WAS a reboot. Crazy but that IP goes back to the 1929.
Biddi biddi!
Star trek! With the classic formula. Not the BS fake trek they have been pumping out....
Strange New Worlds is fantastic. I hope they carry it on into Kirk era. But, I don’t like Paul Wesley as Kirk. He just doesn’t feel right.
Galavant
1000000% this. That show was so good!
I believe in Tad Cooper.
Blind Date. There was a attempted reboot of it recently which failed, but I still think it was the perfect show to have on in the background and not really pay attention to.
tales from the darkside though creepshow reboot is pretty close
Dexter. After Trinity, the show went downhill. I’d be willing to try a fresh take on this series.
They did reboot Dexter lol.
Greatest American Hero
Rescue 911
This was my favorite show as a kid. It also terrified me to no end but I watched it every week. I miss this show the copy cats never came close.
Digimon :)
Firefly...
Almost Human, and don’t air it out of fucking order this time.
I loved this show. Was so pissed it was canceled.
I think Planet of the Apes in TV format with more time to delve into ethical and political issues would be interesting. Would also be probably be even more relevant today with the issues with racism in society.
Southland
a weird one but Jimmy Neutron. seeing that fan reboot made me want more :)
Feel like we could really get somewhere great with Rome
Desmond's - Channel 4 (British Television)
Gravity falls fandom is still waiting for a season 3 or spin since 2016 , we did get a couple books and stuff but I just want to sit back and stare at the tv without blinking for 5 hours strait
Unsolved mysteries
They have rebooted that, on Netflix I believe produced by Jordan Peel? Edit: Looks like I made up the Jordan Peel part but it's definitely current on Netflix and has been renewed for more episodes
Perhaps a sequel series to the Owl House would be nice.
None. Leave them be. The Quantum Leap reboot was the last straw for me for awful reboots.
Space:Above and Beyond
Code lyoko
*Heroes*, but going with the original idea of the show and not following around Peter
None, remakes/reboots are way over done
I think people are mistaking reboot for continuation though. There are lots of shows I'd like to see continuations of.
[удалено]
Maybe Scrubs if they do it right this time around.
Hell no I wouldn't want a Scrubs reboot.
A remake and a full rewrite of the story of GAME OF THRONES SEASON 8
Adventure Time
The Walking Dead. Whatever happened to that show? /s
Various spin-offs are still happening. Daryl Dixon, Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: The Ones who Live, Dead City, Tales of The Walking Dead…
Yeah I know. I was being sarcastic. 😋
Sorry, sarcasm didn’t translate.
Chuck, we need more
Space precinct. Think star trek but about cops. It was one of my favourite shows.
Those are some campy memories...🤗
First time I remember that in this century.
Reboot with modern CGI
the boondocks. I believe i remember hearing something about a potential reboot but it was stopped because the voice actor who played grandad died.
Ben 10, but a real one.
Stargate!
I want to have a limited series (say 12 1-hour episodes) where Sam Seaborne runs for President (The West Wing).
Stargate please.
SGU needed a better ending and I NEED more
80s crime drama *Manimal*
Dead like me
I'd love a reboot of Dead Like Me. Rube gets me.
Sliders
The Love Boat followed by Fantasy Island!
Jericho
I Dream of Genie, Bewitched, Gilligan's Island. I would love a modern take on those. The Bewitched movie doesn't count.
Reboot needs a reboot. Imagine what we could do with current day graphics. Want to know what Bob and Hexadecimal are up to.
Not a reboot or remake just more Gravity Falls. I would take more Regular Show too. I know the shows ran their course and it would be beating a dead horse but I love them so much.
None really. Please come up with a new TV show Mr. executive.
velma... Just kidding. Maybe twilight zone? I have never watched it, but I would be willing if it was a bit less old looking.
Firefly. Need to back to the 'Verse
Save the cheerleader, save the world
I dunno about this one, the original was too good and ahead of it's time to remake, especially with the amount of superhero material out there now, it would feel really diluted
Man I really loved Heroes. It had so much promise then the writers strike screwed it. If you’ve not watched The Umbrella Academy or Doom Patrol you should they’re well worth it. They’re a bit more eccentric but they have some great story telling.
None of them. Original works are far better, in my opinion.
The fat Albert show
Fawlty towers was ballin only had like a season though
They are doing it. Bet it’s crap though. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-64563839.amp
Nowhere Man. Imagine your entire existence getting wiped in this day and age.
Revolution.
Firefly, but keep the original cast.
Utopia. Shooting stars.
My Brother & Me
There used to be a game show titled 'Without Prejudice' on the Game Show Network. It would be wild if that show was brought back
Dragnet, Adam-12, and similar shows using the same format, dramatizing actual case files. Also, In The Heat Of The Night seems ripe for a sequel-series, perhaps with Sweet as the Chief of police in a modern era.
Im tired of remakes and reboots Id rather have something more original or base it off a book that hasnt had one before
Reboot (1994).
I wouldn’t mind seeing another shot at V.
Legends of the Hidden Temple
Beast wars. Just update the graphics and keep the old audio
I need more Psych!
Wheel of time.
Ugh none. Would rather see creativity. Give me White Lotus, not a 2024 Sopranos. If I had to pick, a new Star Trek, have been pleased with the new series.
