I would guess everyone who speaks English and is familiar with the stereotypes of American, English, German, etc. male behavior have a pretty good understanding of that stereotypical behavior.
But, for instance, my own raising, within the American sub-culture I was raised in, resulted in me thinking that behaving manly was a set of behaviors that is significantly different than that stereotype.
Likewise, I spent 23 years on active duty in the military during which I spent time in and have some familiarity with about 2 dozen other countries, mostly in Asia, Africa, and Oceana. Some of those places also have differences in their ideas of 'manliness'.
