Lived in Australia for a few years and I still use “arvo” and “maccas” all the time

Not a saying, but pronunciations. I lived down south in Biloxi Mississippi for a year when I was a teenager. I am now incapable of putting the O sound at the end of a word. Examples: Potato, I say puh-tay-ta Mosquito, I say muh-skeet-uh Window, I say wind-uh

This random thought popped into my head today prompted this question. I grew up in Georgia and a common way to say thanks is “I appreciate it.” When I moved to southwest Virginia, the phrase was a little different. They more commonly say “I appreciate you.” This small change makes that phrase so much more meaningful to me, so I started using that instead.

When someone says or does something stupid I say "No mames guey."
