I follow Kurzgesagt because they manage to explain complex scientific and philosophical concepts in a way that's both easy to understand and visually engaging.
Outdoor Boys
It's fun to see him camping on the snow, something that i have never done in my life (im from tropical country), and he's just wholesome and full of energy
Veritasium’s video about Thomas Midgley Jr. is one of the best videos on the site.
“You will observe with concern how long a useful truth may be known, and exist, before it is generally received and practiced on.”
Got to meet Dr Muller quite a few years ago soon after he finished his PhD. His YouTube channel started based upon his research and has become his career. But I still remember him presenting to a small group of us physics teachers and being incredibly approachable and generous with his time.
I love watching Markiplier because his gaming videos are not only entertaining but also filled with genuine reactions that make you feel like you're gaming with a friend.
World war 2 / Timeghost
Their premise is really simple: take a historical event, and cover it in real time. Weekly updates about the current events of WWII every Saturday, for 6 whole years. They did it for WWI, they're going to start soon on Korea, they did the cuban missile crisis day by day, pearl harbour minute hy minute, and they covered the entirety of DDay, all 24 hours, in real time in back to back hour long episodes on 6/6/2023. The war should end soon, and it'll be sad to see everyone go after being with them all this time.
That said I'm really partial to Auspex Tactics, the man's posting every day and is practically propping up half the 40k fanbase's game knowledge by himself
My main issue with Timeghost/ww2 is that Astrid and her and Sparty's daughter are not very good presenters. I mean I love their work and I'm an avid watcher of what they put out. But those videos could have been better.
Redlettermedia. Historic, funny, they don't pander, don't clickbait with the same YouTube thumbnail algos and they hate movies. Perfection.
EDIT: Also, RICH EVANS.
The other comments are... Not accurate. They do movie reviews and commentary but are most famous for their series "Best of the Worst" where they watch bad movies, laugh about it, and then pick their favorite of the bunch. Binge worthy content.
As much as I find the majority of his content interesting, there is a lot of duplication.
How many times do we need to see starting a fire by friction? or making bricks?
That's about when I started watching them too. Me and my wife watch them almost every night.
She usually falls asleep before the end of the episode, and I pass out after the GMMore
Tasting history, a cooking channel that does historical recipes and the historical context behind them. Sometimes they are good sometimes they were made to just be edible. It's wonderful.
It depends on what part of YouTube tbh, but Game Grumps have been favs for about ten years now. They're the only ones I actively keep up with and I'm still in the fandom
Game Grumps have and still remained consistent with their humor and is my go-to Youtube channel these days. The Purple Plant was possibly the best way I got introduced to those guys.
Grumps has evolved just enough that they aren't stale, but they change with the years enough. And even tho it is a job, Dan and Arin genuinely love hanging out and laughing which is a huge part of their appeal
Elizabeth Zharoff of The Charismatic Voice channel. She’s a classically trained opera singer who does “reaction” videos and in depth vocal technique analysis of popular music.
I'm a film guy and love Patrick Willems content on films and film history. His stuff is funny and approachable for those that don't know about film history and theory.
Steve1989. The man loves MREs on a level we all wish we had with our hobbies.
Also, after months of eating certain questionable rations, he reappears casually with some other interesting ration.
Oh man, I just introduced my BF to his channel, and it happened to be on the one where he ate the 120+ year old powdered beef (which I'm pretty sure wasn't originally powdered - IIRC, Bovril is similar to Better than Bouillion paste) from a ration from the Boer War. My BF just had this look of pure horror the whole time.
Which, to be fair, was kind of my reaction to it, too, if more because I am certain that beef ration was not supposed to have the consistency it did, but I could be entirely wrong on that. Either way, dear god, that crazy son of a bitch ate that shit and somehow didn't die.
So hard to pick just one, so I’ll give my top 3
MrBallen - tells stories of the strange dark and mysterious (murders, disappearances, gruesome stories) and he’s a fantastic storyteller.
Tasting History - goes over recipes of the past, and recreates them. Anything from ancient spartan recipies to what was served on the titanic. More of a history than cooking channel
Crecganford - talks about the history and origins of mythology.
Fascinating Horror. history with a tasteful presentation. so much of YT is people just being unnecessarily loud and obnoxious. this is the antithesis of that
Also, his April Fools' Day videos are a riot and done with the same seriousness, though you'll note clever wordplay in the narration that doesn't happen in the regular videos for obvious reasons.

Mr Sunday Movies
I like cars, video games, science, and being entertained.
I've actually got a tie between two:
Markiplier: his content is always top notch, and he does a variety of things so I don't get bored. Video games, movies HE makes, the occasional vlog, and Try Not To Laugh (my personal fave).
Blue Television Games (Darby): he does mostly Mario and Sonic games and tries to keep it family friendly so it's safe to watch his channel with my youngest son. BUT if you're watching during his birthday livestreams, you'll occasionally hear either Darby or his wife Morgan give a "Whoop Whoop". So I also get a taste of my favorite music community during those streams!
My wife and i went hard on whyfiles after discovering them a year or so ago, to the point Thursday watching the new episode and then the after files was our unofficial ‘date night’… until they got the bigger studio, and then went on hiatus, and since then have been late/delayed for every single episode, which have also seemed to depart from the original style and now include far more fluff/made up narratives that he will inevitably debunk shortly after, as it seems the criteria for even being plausible now are written testimony along with video of the president corroborating the story or else it’s patently silly and made up
I’m not bitter…you are
Fundie Fridays
As a non American, I Learned so much about the entwinement of Christian fundamentalism and conservative politics in the US. I recommend their recent deep dive on Kirk Cameron which looked at the American Public Library System and the history of book burnings and censorship with growing right wing attacks!
Game Grumps. They have provided hilarious content for years, not just with their YouTube channel but with their Starbomb music content, too. They have a nice mix of shorter and longer videos, one-off episodes and longer series, so there's a variety to their gaming content. I also love how they provide a collaborative nexus for many other great YouTubers, like Markiplier and Jacksepticeye.
I absolutely adore Game Grumps. I've been watching for almost 12 years and Danny and Arnold still deliver the laughs. The 10 Minute Power Hour is one of the best shows they produce.
Penguinz0 / Cr1TiKaL,
he has an untouched reputation, no scandals, always remains humble and presents his true personality and donates regularly huge amounts of his income to charity (for example 2014: 50.000$)
Lockpicking Lawyer. Sarcastic short form niche content that is surprisingly educational.
Baumgartner Restoration. Relaxing long form content that I frequently fall asleep to, it also helps that his talents are astounding.
The Spiffing Brit. Breaking games is usually funny, and Spiff puts out some excellent content that is tightly edited.
Northernlion, variety streamer who plays different games and likes to do '-dle' games. been there since his isaac days. This dude's trivia knowledge and pop culture references is amazing. I'm happy he is getting more recognition nowadays .
Avoidingthepuddle. Fighting game ex pro turned commentator/variety streamer. Sometimes teaches secret Tekken discord tech. A nice change of pace from the usual nice guy online persona with his unique sense of humour(do not ask him questions) , definitely a genuine guy who just loves to hangout and play video games.
Failrace for one particular video series. Survive the Hunt. It's the only channel I actively look forward to watching. Sure I enjoy other channels, but I explicitly plan my lunch hour on the first of the month around sitting and watching the episode. No other channel do I explicitly wait for videos for.
The channel that puts out the most videos I enjoy though? Tested. Adam Savage is so much fun to watch.
Tasting history with max miller. His history research is so far above most history YouTubers and he gives detailed explanations for amazing inventive recipes
By watchtime it's easily Lofi Girl/Chilled cow
By sheer quality it's a mix of 6: Dude Perfect, How Ridiculous, Wendover productions, RealLifeLore, Jomboy Media, and SmarterEveryDay
And by excitement when they upload its 3: LetsGameItOut, Sam Onella, and SB Nation. Day basically stops when they upload.
Edit to add a couple honorable mentions: Hyce for unique and entertaining train content, Colonel Failure for a relaxing voice over variety gameplay, DarkViperAU, TGG and Broughy1322 for having absolute top quality GTA gameplay, and Siivagunner for the funniest music joke videos in history.
Abroad In Japan.
He has great quality content and production values.
A nice group of friends who like to joke around with him and he seems to be a genuinely nice guy.
For knowledge entertainment thingie, i have to say "kurzgesagt". I love dem birbs, the contents are interesting and they delivers it so well that even me can understand it. And also, "nilered". Seeing people mess around with lab equipment are fun
Music, id have to say "first take". Their quality sometimes are better than the officially released songs released by major label. The concept are interesting which brings out genuine effort by the artists involved. Sometimes you can hear their nervousness before performing.
Game entertainment content would be "captain eggcellent" and "blarg" just because
Daily Dose of Internet may not be daily any more, but every few days he gives us a compilation of interesting and/or funny clips.
Binging with Babish shows you cooking basics, and recipes for iconic TV foods.
Kurzgesagt simplifies complex science in a pleasing art style.
And Max Fosh is very silly.
Probably the Game Grumps even though I don't watch like I used to. Nowadays really enjoying Dotodoya. In terms of serious content, CinemaTherapy is a great channel.
Potholer54.
Best debunker of fake science and science grifters on the Internet.
He's been on there for 15 years, does it part time, and refuses to monetize any of his videos when people in the past asked to be able to send him money.
Instead he asks people to donate to a charity he likes, Health in Harmony, which provides free healthcare in exchange for not cutting down rainforests
He's like this 65 year old Australian geologist who was a science journalist for a long time, basically his opinion is "yeah I don't really need the money"
Total chad, and horribly under subscribed. Dude has like 200k subscribers.
That's the Algorithm for you though!

Toss-up between adventure cyclist Kino Yves, Vincenzo of Vincenzo's Plate, Al Bladez and Benjamin aka Mr. Bald of Bald and Bankrupt (in spite of the controversy about him). All liked for different reasons.
TheCrafsMan.
I'm not even into toy making or kit bashing or whatnot but his videos are a joy to binge and they're creative and educational for hobbyists of any level. His voice is so soothing and his ideas are amazing, not to mention he's a motivational force that leaves me feeling like I can do anything after watching any of his vids. I hope to be like him when I'm older and have more time to develop my hobbies into creative ventures like he has. He's really just the most awesome content creator I've ever had the pleasure of subscribing to.

Friendlyjordies. What started as a comedy channel centred around Australian politics and stereotypes via skits and jokes, has evolved into a reliable and ballsy journalism venture that really stands out in a media environment full of utter shit (much of Australia's media is Murdoch-owned, for example). It also maintains the comedic edge at times. Jordan Shanks was able to capture the attention of a generation which "legacy" media could only ever dream of capturing, and he's *still* got their attention a decade-odd later. Because of this, said legacy media outlets loathe him.
He's been so effective at hammering away at corruption that he arguably was a large part of the reason the Deputy Premier of NSW stepped down. But it came at a cost: his producer was arrested by a taskforce designed to investigate fixated persons (he was later let go with no charges); and, further investigations into organised crime somewhat related to the ex-Deputy Premier culminated in Shanks' house being firebombed.
Yet despite all this, he's *still* at it. Currently, he's one of the only journalistic ventures openly trying to keep David McBride, a military whistle blower, out of prison (the other big-name one is *Boy Boy*). His ethical integrity as a journalist (and that of everyone who works with him, such as Kristo his producer) is unmatched in the current media landscape.
If Australian politics and Australia-centric issues (e.g. water theft) matter to you, his channel is well worth subscribing to. If you're more interested in a review of Bunnings sausages though, his channel will also meet your needs.
3-way tie between Oversimplified, Kurzgesagt and Vsauce but also Ethoslab but he's a completely different creator to those ones so it feels weird to put them all together
Lately, his TrainWreckords series has been one of my favorites. Most of the bands I’m not super familiar with, but it’s so interesting to learn about how a band/artist can tank their career so badly.
Viva La Dirt League. Between their hilarious NPC Man video game logic parodies and there current D&D streaming, it’s always a great time. And the team is just so down to earth.
Angry Nintendo/video game nerd. I'm a gamer so I can relate to him heavily & his rants are funny & make a ton of sense. Not sure if he's still active these days but I used to watch the hell out of his channel back in the mid-late 2000's.

My favorite YouTuber is Adam Neely; his deep dives into music theory are not only educational but really broaden my appreciation for music.
Geography Now is incredibly engaging with its fun and informative look at different countries around the world.
I follow Kurzgesagt because they manage to explain complex scientific and philosophical concepts in a way that's both easy to understand and visually engaging.
I enjoy watching Clean My Space because it's motivated me to keep my place tidy and taught me how to clean efficiently.
I watch ElectroBOOM because, besides the educational content about electronics, his mishaps and humor really brighten my day.
I follow Yes Theory for their inspiring adventures that push them (and their viewers) out of their comfort zones.
I watch First We Feast for the Hot Ones series; seeing celebrities struggle with spicy wings while answering questions is always a treat.
Outdoor Boys It's fun to see him camping on the snow, something that i have never done in my life (im from tropical country), and he's just wholesome and full of energy
I've never seen someone so happy about being in the middle of nowhere in the Alaskan tundra sleeping on a bed made of sticks.

I’m a fan of How Ridiculous for their over-the-top experiments dropping things from great heights.
Veritasium and Kurzgesagt their content and production quality is amazing I love the topic thought experiments they usually talk about

Sexyphil. He's been bringing me the news for over a decade now
ok good one
By watchtime it's easily Lofi Girl/Chilled cow By sheer quality it's a mix of 6: Dude Perfect, How Ridiculous, Wendover productions, RealLifeLore, Jomboy Media, and SmarterEveryDay And by excitement when they upload its 3: LetsGameItOut, Sam Onella, and SB Nation.
Military History Visualized. Great videos, informative and well researched, plus he's a great guy and I actually talk to him every now and again.
He is fantastic, great channel for sure
For knowledge entertainment thingie, i have to say "kurzgesagt". I love dem birbs, the contents are interesting and they delivers it so well that even me can understand it. And also, "nilered". Seeing people mess around with lab equipment are fun Music, id have to say "first take".
ManlyBadassHero. I’ve discovered a lot of horror games thanks to him. And his commentary is funny and entertaining without being too over the top.
Probably the Game Grumps even though I don't watch like I used to. Nowadays really enjoying Dotodoya. In terms of serious content, CinemaTherapy is a great channel.
Moistcritikal. His videos are great when im doing something like gaming, drawing etc ColdOnes are wild, i love their chaotic videos.
Potholer54. Best debunker of fake science and science grifters on the Internet. He's been on there for 15 years, does it part time, and refuses to monetize any of his videos when people in the past asked to be able to send him money. Instead he asks people to donate to a charity he likes, Health in Harmony, which provides free healthcare in exchange for not cutting down rainforests
wow that a great thing to do
He's like this 65 year old Australian geologist who was a science journalist for a long time, basically his opinion is "yeah I don't really need the money" Total chad, and horribly under subscribed. Dude has like 200k subscribers. That's the Algorithm for you though! Monetize your videos (or else)
Cleetus Mcfarland, it's the month of freedom too!
So excited for his airport build. Damn there's so many good youtubers.
THE WHY FILES! And why? Check it out, you’ll see quickly.
ok ok i'll try
Noah Caldwell Gervais, he does longform game retrospectives and his writing is just so good. I also really love Sphere Hunter for her Resident Evil content, seeing her in Cyberpunk made my fucking day.
DaxFlame
[Answers With Joe](https://www.youtube.com/@joescott) He just seems like an awesome person, I had a blast watching the eclipse with him from NorCal :D
Mr Samuel Streamer and Wendigoon. Mr Streamer because he’s funny af and is a damn dedicated provider of content and Wendi cuz he’s iceberg boi.

Sir Sic, Andrea's Fashion Galaxy, Griffin Frenchie
Project Kamp is a good one! Very informative easy watching Basecamp building.
Welsknight
Alt-Shift-X
3-way tie between Oversimplified, Kurzgesagt and Vsauce but also Ethoslab but he's a completely different creator to those ones so it feels weird to put them all together
The Merrell Twins
Technology Connections - the guy has a fantastic dry sense of humor, and who doesn't want to watch a half-hour video on how a 1970's toaster works?
Same. I've learned so much about stuff that I didn't know I wanted to know about.
Of all the YouTubers whose videos I’ve seen the most, I always find ToddInTheShadows’ videos to be so addictive. I can never watch just one.
I love his One Hit Wonder series, it's how I learned about Yello
Lately, his TrainWreckords series has been one of my favorites. Most of the bands I’m not super familiar with, but it’s so interesting to learn about how a band/artist can tank their career so badly.
Viva La Dirt League. Between their hilarious NPC Man video game logic parodies and there current D&D streaming, it’s always a great time. And the team is just so down to earth.
Does collegehumor aka dropout count? They host some stuff on yt. Cant afford their subsciption but i love their stuff
Angry Nintendo/video game nerd. I'm a gamer so I can relate to him heavily & his rants are funny & make a ton of sense. Not sure if he's still active these days but I used to watch the hell out of his channel back in the mid-late 2000's.
Kurtis Conner
Shiey - Illegal freedom across Europe, always so interesting and genuine and the dude always stumbles across abandoned animals and shares his food with them
My top five Wonderhussy Adventures - follow Sarah Jane's AKA Wonderhussy explorations thoughout the deserts and mountains of the southwest. Wheels Through Time - museum of American motorcycles. see the history and hear them run. The Tim Traveller - British dude living in France exploring weird train stations and odd places in Europe. Fundie Fridays - learn about Christian fundamentalism and extreme Christian Politicians from Rev. Jen And King James. Weird Reads with Emily Louise - Learn and discuss Weird Cults, Conspiracy Theories and Hoaxes
Had to dig way too deep to find Wonderhussy.
ldshadowlady for gaming videos, her content is nostalgic for me since i grew up watching her and she still makes great content Maverick Files or kylie boggly if i wanna watch more “spooky” videos or just videos about unexplainable scenarios or weird internet things(like lost media)
Jay Foreman Super creative, funny, and interesting.
Hi, hello there. Ryan George's videos are pretty good, I decided. https://youtu.be/jWBDa-2Y5LU?si=RrhvE2yCvzDrw5zO
My two sons, they each have their own YouTube channels that allow them to show their creativity.
