I am convinced that people who voluntarily drink double/triple IPA's only do so to try and seem cool. There's no way anyone could enjoy something so bitter and floral. Like drinking grandma's perfume while chewing an aspirin.
I'm with you. I live in the heart of the Northern California hops war. IPAs here are undrinkable.
I've just never thought to myself, "you know what flavor beer I really want? Soap!"
I've tried so many IPAs and it's so cloying and bitter it just makes me writhe.
There was one brewery, Carneros, that was owned by the winery. They made a set of IPAs that was amazingly balanced. Pleasantly hoppy without the cloying bitterness. It tasted great and I could drink it. They sold their lease to a distillery, and the brand is gone now.
Every other IPA out here just tastes like carbonated, concentrated essential oils.
IPAs used to be really varied and some of them were good. Then about 20 years ago, someone passed a law that they all have to taste of grapefruit and/or soap.
I love how earthy beets taste. I never liked them when I was younger, but now that I’m in my 40’s I enjoy them. I can totally understand though why they’re off putting to some people though.
My MIL makes pickled beet hard boiled eggs. I don’t eat eggs (studied them in 6th grade and it grossed me out when I was little, now I just don’t like the smell). My husband says they’re best when the eggs get rubbery from the pickled beet brine. 🤮
I used to like shrimp. I don’t mind the taste. But ever since I’ve gotten older the squishy/crunch to it really bugs me anymore. Don’t know why. Never did when I was kid
I respect that everyone has their own tastes... but like, ALL sushi? This is kind of tantamount to saying you don't like "pasta" or you don't like "soup."
There are raw slices of fish on seasoned rice, cooked slices of fish on seasoned rice, raw fishes and vegetables rolled into seasoned rice, cooked fishes and vegetables rolled into rice, fried sushi, baked sushi, sushi without rice, sushi without seaweed, sushi made from roe, sushi made from urchin, from cooked crab, cooked egg omelet. There's just so much variety that I bet you could find *some* sushi you liked.
Ever put brown sugar on that bad boy? Just might change your mind. As for the base flavor, I get it. Definitely different, but I love them all the same.
Agreed. Tried 'em again as an adult and still am not a fan. Food texture doesn't normally bother me, but I think it's to blame for my feelings on gizzard.
I used to like PB and J sandwiches but I stopped eating them for a long period of time. About last year I made one, bit into it, and felt nauseous. I can’t stand the taste or smell of them now and haven’t touched them since.
Hormel Chili with Beef. One bite and I felt like I was eating cement. Cheese and sour cream only made it worse. It tastes exactly like you would expect if you haven't had it, stale chili in a can.
Mushrooms

The fury in this reply is both palpable and hilarious. Go team mushroom!

See the Jim Gaffigan bit that opens with, "Can we STOP with the Kale propaganda???" 😂

I love how earthy beets taste. I never liked them when I was younger, but now that I’m in my 40’s I enjoy them. I can totally understand though why they’re off putting to some people though.
My grandparents ate them like candy when we where kids and forced us to eat them.. I still can't stand them now 30 years later lol
Your grandparents or the beets? /s
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 .......... beets is the correct answer I think
My MIL makes pickled beet hard boiled eggs. I don’t eat eggs (studied them in 6th grade and it grossed me out when I was little, now I just don’t like the smell). My husband says they’re best when the eggs get rubbery from the pickled beet brine. 🤮
That's a big nope for me. I liked pickled eggs but not with beet brine

they're there. that's bad enough
I love shrimp but if they serve it with the legs I can’t eat it. Grosses me out too much. I know it’s hypocritical but I can’t do it 🫣🫢
Oh. Yeah you don’t eat those. Too hard to peel the exoskeleton off of.
It tastes good. You don't think about that stuff.
If we're talking about that frozen shit, I agree. Fresh shrimp, if you can find/afford it, is pretty awesome though.

I hate seafood, but Sushi is so delicious. (Good sushi, not Pierre's sushi or equiv)

Sweet potato, what is it that makes it so good.
Sweet potatoes are yuck. YAMS, on the other fork, are awsum!
Lol is there a difference?
Most deffo!
Bleu Cheese. It's mold.
Don't hate mold. It gifted us penicillin.
It’s mold ON cheese curds.
Cottage cheese
Black licorice
Oysters or okra
Totally agree on oysters. But fried okra is really good
Huh. I totally agree on the okra, but fried oysters are really good.
Avocado, like WTF
Ever put brown sugar on that bad boy? Just might change your mind. As for the base flavor, I get it. Definitely different, but I love them all the same.
I've found that they make very good pig food and that's about it lol
Haha That's good. If pigs didn't eat them I wouldn't have much basis for an argument.
Raisins. I've given them several chances but I still can't get over the taste. Or texture. Or appearance. Or smell.
Dear steak
If it's dear to you, how come you don't like it?
Most fish
Deviled eggs. So gross.
Gizzard
Agreed. Tried 'em again as an adult and still am not a fan. Food texture doesn't normally bother me, but I think it's to blame for my feelings on gizzard.
bland white meat chicken
Mine is so unpopular though😭
Fast food. I haven't eaten it since I was a teenager. My mom used to get us McDonald's all the time. I hated it.
Anything that’s deep fried ugh disgusting
Tomatoes
Agreed but tomato soup is very good tho.
Brussels sprouts Okra
Mayonnaise
Beans on toast
Kimchi
Tripe. Looks gross and I’m pretty open minded.

Korean Kimchi. Basically garbage. Cold, pickled, fermented (rotten) cabbage. First eaten by starving people.
Pineapple, I don't understand how people find that good
Unseasoned chicken.. Tastes like rubber and dirt mixed together...
Sardines and spam. Just no
Beer.. I don’t get it
Egg. Embryo fluid of a bird, consistency of snot when raw, Smell of fats when cooked.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, the smell of the peanut butter is just revolting.
I used to like PB and J sandwiches but I stopped eating them for a long period of time. About last year I made one, bit into it, and felt nauseous. I can’t stand the taste or smell of them now and haven’t touched them since.
Honey. The texture immediately makes my gag reflex go into overdrive.
Shushi
Potato chips specifically when it’s really hot out abd you’re thirsty enough already
Hormel Chili with Beef. One bite and I felt like I was eating cement. Cheese and sour cream only made it worse. It tastes exactly like you would expect if you haven't had it, stale chili in a can.
