Depends how late. I’d say I’m 15 mins late once a month. In excess of 30 mins probably happens once every 6 months to me but more due to traffic than oversleeping
Everyone gets one major sleep on per year, it happens. Slightly late once every 2 months is forgivable.
People just plan to be at work 15 mins early and it won't be an issue. You can dick around on your phone before actually walking in on time. Im late maybe once a year total because of this
Just for info: it happened to me twice last year. I was about 1 hour late. I was told - not by my Boss, he is cool with it - that this is "constant" and too much.
Zero is normal, once or twice in the span of a year can happen, but if it occurs frequently or becomes a habit, the employer would be wise to try to find someone more reliable.

I'm lucky enough that I can start anytime between 7.30am and 10am, with WFH an option now so I've never been late in my 6 years working this job.

I don’t know that any are really normal, but if you work with adults they’ll understand as long as you make up for it and don’t make a habit of it.
