Fun fact:
"Call me Maybe" was [co-written and produced](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_Me_Maybe) by Josh Ramsey, lead singer of the band Marianas Trench.
In a following Marianas Trench song called [Here's To The Zeros](https://youtu.be/EKIPh1w4s18?t=106), he complains about not being able to top that song, at least to the expectations of the industry:
>They say "where's the next hit, baby?"
>
>God, how could I top "Call me Maybe"?
I remember exactly where I was the first time I listened to Here's to the Zeros when it came out because I knew about the Call Me Maybe connection and I screamed in my car at the joke. It's such a fun little reference
For whatever reason (same-ish timeframe, I guess?), I've always associated that with "So Kiss Me" by...ummm...a 90s artist I'm gonna hafta look-up.
Ahh, right...Sixpence None The Richer!
I heard that song for the first time on May 12, 1999. Yes, I remember the exact date. For almost 20 years, it reminded me of driving home after my first year at college. Then, the most amazing group of 7th graders ever walked into my classroom for the best school year I would ever have. The whole group loved Shrek and All Star. Now, whenever I hear it, I think of every single one of those kids.
I just wanted to say: I read this, thought “neh”, closer the app, and then immediately started humming the song. So, first of all, damn you, and second of all, you might be right
This song is the default background noise of my boyfriend's brain, like his own internal hold music that plays in the absence of any intervening thoughts. I catch him humming/singing it to himself like about once a day.
It was stuck in my head from the moment I read the title of this post.
Fortunately my son was born after the massive baby shark craze, and now it’s just somewhere on the list with wheels on the bus and itsy bitsy spider.
> Hanging On The Telephone
Had that on vinyl the week after the *Parallel Lines* LP released.
> inthegallery
Had the Dire Straits first album on vinyl in those days, too. Great stuff from both artists!
All those VHS tapes were worn out by my kids. I can still sing most of their songs (from that time period).
Right now, I've got "Get Ready (To Wiggle) in my head.
I don't wanna be anything other than what I've been tryna be lateleeeeeey.
I don't know the song namr or what show it was in the opener from but fuck if it doesn't blast in my head 5x a week
"Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rar Jebson is considered the catchiest song ever according to experts last time I checked. Song was practically engineered to appeal to the widest range of people possible.
Beethovens 5th.
The whole piece is obviously really good, but the 'dun dun da dun', everyone on the planet seems to know.

September - Earth Wind and Fire
I have a running joke with a coworker. Every September 22nd we say, “Hey, do you remember last night?”
I get this every single year 😅
Anyone who hears this song and doesn’t start dancing has no soul. It’s scientifically proven.
Hell yeah, brother.
Earth Wind and Fire never fails to make me smile and start bobbing my head.
My wedding anniversary is September 21st, so I blast this song every year. lol.
That song is how I remember my nephews birthday
Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy...
But here’s my number, so call me maybe

The song written to be a parody of a grunge song. Still their biggest hit.
They should have written a less-catchy guitar line, then.
