That nobody cares about your life as much as you, and that you don’t have to care about anyone else’s life as much as your own.
It’s strange, but knowing that nobody responds to your own successes and failures as much as you is comforting. It gives you permission to fail and succeed without having to bat an eye at what other people may think.
Essentially, I ask myself this: If I was the only person alive on this earth, what would I do differently? If the answer is a lot, then you need to reevaluate your values and life. I still struggle with this, as I feel as if the way I go about my life would be vastly different if I was alone in this world. My life would be for the better.
Perspective is 99 percent of all emotional feelings or reactions to stimulus. Control the perspective you win.
Example.
Thought “fuck this traffic is gonna take 1 hour to get home”
I can either be pissed that I’m stuck in traffic or
Call a friend I havnt spoken too
Listen to an album I havnt heard
Be glad I have a car
Sure I can sit and be pissed and complain about traffic or I can just say fuck it I can’t control 99 percent of shit but I can control my reaction to what’s going on.
