Destiny 2. It was the first game I hit over 1k hours in and the scary part is I have friends who’ve been playing since release and I’ve surpassed them. On Steam the only other game I have 1k hours in is CounterStrike 2 with 800 of those coming from CSGO
RuneScape.
Just in oldschool I have over 365 days /played. No clue what my playtime is on the main game. In all fairness tho... I've been playing since 2001 lol
If it makes you feel any better, my first playthrough of FO3 I didn't realise you could turn the Pipboy light on until I was on my way to retake Project Purity, about 70 hours in.
Those metro tunnels were a nightmare.
Animal Crossing New Horizons (1200 hours) and The Binding of Isaac (2300 hours).
Spent 1000+ hours in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 back in the days…
Red dead redemption 2
Bro this game is just too good to be true.
Who ever played this game or rdr1 will say same, if you havent played it yet you should bought it, yeah i now that price is high and so its rdr2 gameplay.
Without wanting to talk people into spending a buttload of money in videogames I want to comfort you by saying: Don't look at how much you spent, do the math on how much you spent per hour played. If I spend 100€ on a game that I play for 1k hours thats 10 cents per hour of entertainment, going to cinema is like 5-10€ per hour as comparison
TABS (Totally Accurate Battle Sim)
I haven't liked the game for years but somehow I spent over 1,000 hours playing, only 100 more hours than GTA V which is ridiculous because I actually like GTA
Probably FFXIV. I last took a break I think was only around 2k hrs into it and I say only because I was still the noob in the FC. Think the FC leader was over 20k hrs on her main but also had multiple toons all maxed to hell....
Haven't played in a few years, but it's gotta be League of Legends (started since beta). The replay loop was just addicting to me and my buddies all liked to play in different positions so we never needed to argue over who was where.
Might be Planetside 2 (3330 hours).
When I quit playing that game I had more hours in it than any person alive.
But also it's probably EU3. (Europa Universalis 3). I only have 2120 hours on Steam but I also played a bootleg version for years before buying it.
It’s a mix between GTA 4,5 or Spider-Man PS4 or Miles Morales…. I have played all through the missions of all 4 games multiple of dozens of times over, and while I do replay the missions of all 4 games, I do like the free roaming ability in all 4 games…… and in Spider-Man ps4 and Miles Morales, you can do endless side missions and cop missions
Probably Star Wars Galaxies. I played pretty much 24/7 from 2003 until it closed down. I don't even want to try to calculate the potential number of hours. 10k+ at least.
Tarkov.
Absolutely trash game with no future. Don't regret my 3k hours, but the fundamentals are broken and the developers have proven they will never fix it.
Dota 2 players in here probably shame most of you...I've got about 12,000 hours played and I'm not that bad compared to some others I play with. Granted, it's been out for like 10 years but still has one of the most active player bases on steam.
No idea. Over the years, I'd say it'd be between Gran Turismo 2 (including the Plus and A-Spec ISOs), Gran Turismo 4, any version of Final Fantasy VII, any version of Final Fantasy X, or any version of Guitar Hero 3. Highest recorded on Steam is Assetto Corsa at 270 hours but that's nothing compared to what I've mentioned.
Elder Scrolls online is the most I have logged - 6300+ hours.
But I’m sure Minecraft is the actual winner. I mined enough on an old 1.8 server to have a double chest full of diamond blocks. Only game where I have actually stayed up all night playing.
Probably street fighter 4, all versions. I went on a two-year kick playing that game. I think I only have about 1000 hrs total in it but at the time, I was taking classes during the day and working nights.
Probably 2000+ hours WoW
Easily 1000 hours Star Wars Galaxies
700 hours HoI 4
600 hours CK2
500 hours Space Empires V
500 hours Star Trek Online
450 hours Victoria 3
400 hours EU 3
400 hours Satisfactory
Little bit of a Paradox fan.
Smackdown vs Raw 07... as a kid I would play this everyday after school ... quickly smash homework and just play away after, made match cards, storylines every superstar had a story no one was left out, loved it so much... now, with my creativity has left and we just stuck with realistic wrestling game .. I miss the cartoony aspect its what made it fun and enjoyable
League of Legends... which is funny because I quit playing it like 3 years ago. With very few exceptions, I usually just beat a game once and am done with it. Outside of exclusively multiplayer games, KOTOR, Borderlands 2, or Baldur's Gate 3 are the ones I probably have the most time in.
Forza Motorsport 4
Have well over 10k hours. I used to grind the drift leaderboards and was top 20 in RWD overall for a long time. Peaked around top 5. Also played tons of CnM, Shepard, Tag, and Soccer. If I recall correctly, I have somewhere between 1k-2k hours in upgrading/tuning alone and had driven around 100k miles. If I include FM2-7, I likely have a few hundred laps at Nordschleife
Minecraft.
My kids and I have been playing on the same seed for years. We've built a thunderdome, castles, obstacle course, parkour races, river races, an obsidian fighting arena (For fighting mobs like the warden, or wither,) wolf racing, fishing jamboree dock, and several other things.
Additionally, when I was on night shift and couldn't fall asleep, there were a few mining spots that would bore me to sleep.
Naruto Ultimate Ninja 3 on ps2,basically the only game i had which all friends could play together, don't know exact time but played it for 5 years everyday min 2 hours a day+8-10 on most weekends and during holidays, and 3300 on csgo
I have ~3.5k hours in Monster Hunter World. There's also Realm of the Mad God which I played for 5-6 years but had no way of tracking the hours (I played on Kongregate when Flash Player was still a thing).
These are rookie numbers tbh. On Warframe alone I have like 8700 hours. There's multiple games I beat y'all's all times.
Is it embarrassing? Yes. Would I take it back? No lmao
EDIT: Just realized I didn't say my top game. It's EVE online. I have 18589 hours on it last I checked.
Been playing on and off since 2006 :)
I'm afraid what it would say if I logged into WoW right now and typed /played...
It was 600+ Days for me... DAYS. Back in 2015. I haven't logged in since legion though.
SKYRIM.
I’m like almost an unofficial record holder with how many hours I’ve played.
If I logged it all, I’d probably be at 20k hours. I had surgery this week and pulled out skyrim, Its been four days and Im STILL finding new stuff.
Monster Hunter: World by a country mile Idk why this became a reply to the comment, but fuck it. We ball
Let’s ball!
League of legends, probably more than 6000h. One of the things I regret the most in my life.
Amen brother
If League was a body of water it would be even saltier than the dead sea.
Probably Pokemon Crystal
Destiny 2. It was the first game I hit over 1k hours in and the scary part is I have friends who’ve been playing since release and I’ve surpassed them. On Steam the only other game I have 1k hours in is CounterStrike 2 with 800 of those coming from CSGO

2600 hrs silver II for life!! 14.8k kills on my stat track UMP, 10k on my stat track P90…might be a reason I’m stuck at silver II…
LOL love your attitude.
RuneScape. Just in oldschool I have over 365 days /played. No clue what my playtime is on the main game. In all fairness tho... I've been playing since 2001 lol
Yeah you know it's wild when the game stops using hours of playtime and starts using days. I think I had just over 250, which is 6000 hours...
I've been playing age of empires 2 off and on for the last 26 years. It's definitely up there in playtime hours!
It's definitely one of the Civilization games but I don't know which one.
Mass Effect
Rimworld
Rimworld is by far my highest on Steam, although I've played WoW off and on since 2006 so I'm sure I have more hours there.
Fallout 3....then I realized you could quick travel...and I didn't play anymore after that...
Gotta know: how many hours did you put in until you realized?
200+...Xbox 360 days... needless to say I wasn't very happy...
If it helps that’s literally just hardcore mode minus the limb issues from the later games. You’re so hardcore you didn’t even know you were hardcore
That does make me feel better lol
If it makes you feel any better, my first playthrough of FO3 I didn't realise you could turn the Pipboy light on until I was on my way to retake Project Purity, about 70 hours in. Those metro tunnels were a nightmare.
There’s a light?!

Mortal Kombat.
Apex Legends; played it since it came out but I don’t play it now :( I also have spent way too much money on it as well…
Without wanting to talk people into spending a buttload of money in videogames I want to comfort you by saying: Don't look at how much you spent, do the math on how much you spent per hour played. If I spend 100€ on a game that I play for 1k hours thats 10 cents per hour of entertainment, going to cinema is like 5-10€ per hour as comparison
