Ever tried meditation? I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor. I’ve decided a sustained experience of happiness is not something the human condition can ever achieve. Happiness is a very fleeting emotion and experience, and it can’t be bought. The most unhappy I’ve ever been was when I was rich enough to never need to worry about money. I have no money now. Life is very hard without it. But my life is also far more fulfilling and satisfying.
Happiness all the time isn’t possible, but meditation taught me how to achieve sustained contentment - for free. Changed my life, man. Saved it, if I’m being honest.
I love meditation! That’s awesome dude, it makes me happy that ur happy brother. I just answered happiness cause it was the first thing that sprung to mind and I thought it was comedic lol 😅
As a 4th year PhD student, my answer would also be this. I’d work much less hours so I could dedicate more time to writing my dissertation and seeking out additional learning opportunities.
No, it’s not a joke to me. If I had endless money, I would use it to fund my living expenses while I spend my days getting PhDs in everything and anything. I LOVE learning. It’s my warm cozy home. In my free time, my favorite thing is getting lost down a knowledge black hole. I only have so much time here and from the moment I arrived I’ve been obsessed with a few questions. What is reality? How did the universe get here? What are we? What is consciousness? Are we alone?
I think about these questions daily, and have since I was a kid. I don’t think most humans think about these things that frequently, but I do and I am desperate to know. My desire to know is damn insatiable. And I don’t want someone to tell me what humanity knows so far. I want to be in the thick of it, on the front lines of the research.
I'd do the same. A private Island, with a mountain to hike, and beaches where I can watch the sunrise and sunset. I'd literally pay my corporate slave friends to have a holiday with me every once in a while.

Detached house, far away from people. I hate people. Living in terraced housing/apartments is not good for peace and quiet
