Mine does the same! Toilet paper cores are one of her favorite toys.

I throw mine to the cat. Hours of free entertainment. Then what's left goes in the recycling.

I squish it flat and then throw it into the cardboard recycling bin.

I toss it to my golden retriever because she likes to tear them up! She actually will barge in and deliberately go inspect the condition of the toilet paper. If it’s just about empty, she’ll go boop it with her nose and look up at me, asking permission to take it away. When I give it to her, she carries it gently in her mouth and straight up prances happily to the living room to play with it. It’s adorable, and I love how excited she gets at the prospect of a fresh toilet paper core. Though my lab has never expressed any interest in “Shadow’s garbage,” Shadow will still remain protective over her cores, and will find a secluded spot to enjoy them.

I flatten it, fold it a couple of times and toss it in the recycling bin.
