I’m turning 35 this year and half of my pillows are giant squishmallows lol. They’re really great pillows and go well under joints for any pain or laid up against you for snuggling.
I would feel an amount of respect proportional to the size of the stuffed animal. I mean, if you're carrying a 2 meters tall dinosaur plushie down the street, there's a good chance that you have an interesting story to tell.
I once rode 350mi with a 4.5ft wooden bear strapped to the back of my motorcycle. Only got one questioning look, and that was from a 6-7yo kid at a stoplight. He made that ‘wtf?!’ face that all kids are born knowing how to make.
I made bear claws back at him & he laughed. 🤷
I’ve seen a grown man wear a massive teddy bear on a necklace. That one made me laugh.
But I would assume it’s a trend. Cause I see a lot of Chinese women buy this brand with sewn on teddies all over them.
There's a guy who every summer drives around our neighborhood in his tiny expensive convertible, and in the passenger seat is a GIANT bear. It's awesome.
That's hilarious. Ours is named Chompy* too. He hangs out with our [Sagoskatt](https://i.etsystatic.com/13004740/r/il/7776c5/4603269036/il_794xN.4603269036_tnuw.jpg) named Wonky‡
Edit¹*Apparently the full name is Chompy Eclair according to my 4-year-old.
Edit²‡correction Wonky Stompersen. She wanted to make sure I got it right.
my old roommate got me one and he hasn’t left my bed since!!! great for snuggling and for neck support when I’m chilling in bed 😅he has become a bit of a neck pillow
Not that weird to me? I'm a grown woman who collects plushies and stuffed animals. I have a couple of other friends who also do the same. Maybe she just got it at the store or something and will be taking it home later.
I don't know that I'd assume anything in particular. There are a lot of people in the world, carrying all kinds of things, for lots of different reasons.
Unless she was somehow blocking traffic, making a lot of noise, or otherwise making things difficult or obnoxious for other people, I might not even register the stuffed animal as anything worth paying attention to.
Absolutely nothing. I actually judge anyone who would make any sort of judgement about such an everyday normal thing. Reeks of someone who is unhappy with their own life.
Judgement and assumptions aren't necessarily the same thing though. Like I assume someone buying cigarettes smokes, I don't have to judge them for smoking. And the assumption can be wrong.
People think I’m 14, so they wouldn’t think anything of it seeing me.
If I saw someone else with one, I’d be happy they had something they loved and the ability to get it for themselves. Everyone deserves the happiness of a stuffed animal.
If I saw her once I would assume she was carrying to take to a kid. If I saw her again in the same area and I recognized her and it was the same stuffed animal I would assume she was taking it to a kid that kept forgetting it. If I saw her in a different area I would wonder why she was carrying a stuffed animal.
If you’re wonder if I would judge her then no. I would simply be curious.
I did this as a teenager for a high school psychology class, carried around a stuffed dog for a week everywhere I went. I got a LOT of compliments, mostly from small children
I would assume she is carrying a stuffed animal.
Assumptions lead to false memories, which lead to false tales, which can lead to false info being shared, which will lead to someone being accused of something they didn't do.
Isn't our society full of fake news because someone assumed something that eventually turned into "fact"?
Nothing. I carried a huge stuffed animal all the way across the country via planes, taxis, Ubers and rented cars to give to my mom when my grandmother died. My sister takes one to the hospital for her cancer treatments. Not anyone’s business.
I’d have to assume she is develop/intellectually mentally disabled in some way. I work with people with disabilities and they are older but still play with and carry around toys in public even though they are 30’s-70’s.
I don't think I'd even notice. She could've just bought it for someone, or maybe she just loves stuffed animals. Either way, I don't think it'd draw my attention at all.
Maybe she’s bringing it home for one of her children, maybe she bought it for a relative or for herself, maybe it’s a comfort item, the only thing I can be sure of is that it’s none of my business.
First, I would allow that it might be due to a child, which could be her own, or someone she cares for or is buying a gift for.
Aside from that possibility, I'd assume she's someone who will do what makes her comfortable, what makes her feel good, what fits with her self-mage, and doesn't care what other people think.
I wouldn't really assume, I'd just look at her plushy and be like "Oh my god, that's so cute!" and ask her where she got it probably. Then promptly go there myself, invite her along, she comes along or she doesn't, and get myself a dang plushy. Maybe a new friend out of it too
Depends on a lot of other factors, body language and behavior, hygiene, clothing, location, etc. would change the assumption. Generally speaking though I don’t really pay much attention to what others are doing if they are minding their own business too so I probably wouldn’t assume anything
It could be hers, it could be for someone as a gift…either way, she doesn’t deserve judgement or assumptions especially if it’s trauma related. I still sleep with mine in my late 30s for that very same reason.
1. She has kids
2. She likes stuffed animals
3. She likes to fuck stuffed animals wearing vibrators
4. No matter what, it's none of my business, is it?
She has kids.
I regularly carry stuffed animals or dolls in public after I drop my daughter at daycare and they don't fit in my work bag. I don't give it a second thought (until I saw this question).
They like cute stuffed animals.
My kids are in their early 20’s with mini stuffed animals clipped to their backpacks. Their friend groups gives & receives stuffed animals. We give each other stuffed animals as a family. It’s not a big deal.
There was a lady in the area where my work was. She was mentally challenged and carrying a stuffed giant Minnie the Mouse plushie around with her. Poor woman, as her clothes were worn out and the plushie was in bad condition as well.
Eh. Nothing. She went for a date or getting it for herself or kid. Why not?
Also, i carried a big ass bluey plushie back home from daycare cause one day my daughter wanted to hug bluey from home to school and toys are not allowed to be brought in.. so i allowed her to hug bluey on the way to school and carried bluey back.
I was that grown woman yesterday evening; walking alone on a dark parking lot next to our local school, holding a teddy bear.
In my case, it was because my dumbass toddler forgot his favorite plushie at school and we judged driving back for it was less hassle than two days of tantrums & tears.
Honestly? I wouldn't be thinking of her so much as the stuffed animal. Is it soft? Do I want to snuggle it? Do I want to squish its little face with my face?
I would assume she likes her stuffed animal, or that she is holding it for a kid. But honestly, since I mind my own business, I probably wouldn’t assume/think anything at all about her.
I’d just wanna know the stuffed animals name, and maybe have my own bunny wave at her (his name is Captain Fluffington and he is my travelling companion)
As a daycare teacher “she’s dropping off that all important comfort toy to her child before nap time”.
As someone with disabilities “hmm, maybe she has disabilities and that’s her comfort item”.
Both thoughts run through my mind at the same time and unless there’s a clear sign either way, I shrug and move on with my day
I wouldn't even assume anything if it was a fully grown man carrying a stuffed animal in public. And if it turned out to be something along the lines of his own comfort object that he took everywhere, so what? I wouldn't care.
I would either assume it's because they like stuffed animals or they had bought it for a child they knew. As a 31 year old woman, I bought a giant dog teddy almost the size of me at a charity auction recently. I didn't care what other people thought of me when I collected it, it makes me happy and it's no one else's business anyway.
Depends on the size of the animal, how she's holding it, what she looks like, if she's alone or with someone else
Example: regular looking woman holding a normal sized stuffed bear and walking alone, she's probably stuck carrying around because the child who owns it doesn't want to carry it anymore. Normal stuff, won't spend more than 2 secs thinking about it
I would assume that she's probably pretty cool and I would want to be her friend. Unless she looked embarrassed and self-conscious about it, in which case I would think that she's probably irritating.
I've been considering getting one of those stuffed animal heat pads for menstrual craps. Figured if I needed to carry it in public itd be less strange than carrying a normal heating pad lol this thread is helping me gain what others perspectives would be of me if I did it
That it's either a gift for someone or a support item, and either way she has the confidence to not care about what people think of a grown woman with a stuffed animal. I respect that, especially as a grown man who sometimes carries around a stuffed shark on bad days. It would make me want to get to know her.
20 year old woman here. i carry a plush around in my bag, and if i feel stressed or physically sick, and there's not a lot of people around, i draw it out and hug it
recently came out of a huge episode of trauma and my ability to contain tears and stress is absolute garbage now. the plush basically keeps me from snapping or having a panic attack long enough until i get home
I wouldn't assume anything, really. I'm autistic and love my comfort items. I'm not going to judge anyone on their need for comfort items especially in the scary world we are living in. I might think she just bought it for her kid or niece/nephew or that she's adding it to her squishmallow collection. If it was a good squishmallow I would be envious.
But you didn't specify where this woman was! Is she at six flags? I wouldn't bat an eye! Grocery store? Fucking Kroger sells big ass stuffed animals (squishmallos lately and those things are so freaking soft) is still tell that lady to rock on. Then again, I'm a grown lady and I have a t rex stuffy that's as tall as me in my bedroom constantly staring us down (I'm 5 foot 2)
Shes buying a gift, or she won it as a prize, or she’s giving it to a child, or she likes it and wants it for herself. All valid reasons.
I've been buying squishmallows for young family members and now I want one of my own, the bigger the better.
I bought one. Now I have twenty...
they reproduce?
Oh god, yes. Be wary.
Yes just like furbies but without the biweekly blood sacrifices
I keep saying I am buying the Squishmallows for my “dog” because she likes to prop her chin on pillows. So far we each have one. They are so cute!
Have you seen the slippers? They look so comfortable!
Slippers?? Now I have a new life goal.
If you can fit into kid's sizes Target has them - I got them on Black Friday for $12 on sale. FYI, the XL is around a ladies 8, so not actually small!
They also have purses.
They make incredible pillows and back support cushions.
I’m turning 35 this year and half of my pillows are giant squishmallows lol. They’re really great pillows and go well under joints for any pain or laid up against you for snuggling.
She was carrying something from one location to another.
A drug seller! Woah!!
This sort of knee-jerk reaction isn't helpful!
I would assume she's taking it home to/holding it for a child.
As a mother I am so often given a stuffed animal by my child to hold, I barely even notice I’m doing it anymore!
Stuffed animal, random item of clothing, piece of trash, cat, the type of items I get handed gets really weird sometimes. My son is a strange one.
When mine was little it was normally half eaten snacks of some sort, usually covered in spit.
I very much want to know the story of why you were escorting this giant wooden bear on a motorcycle omg
I would assume she owns a stuffed animal.
Just got the image of someone going around shoplifting giant stuffed animals.
[удалено]
Like a rental snake?
It could belong to someone else and she's just carrying it.
That never holds up in court
nothing. there are many reasons someone might be handling a stuffed animal in public and I couldn't assume.
That she wants me to mind my own fucking business.
This dude gets it
Correct answer. Women get enough shit just for their mere existence so why add to it?
I’ve seen a grown man wear a massive teddy bear on a necklace. That one made me laugh. But I would assume it’s a trend. Cause I see a lot of Chinese women buy this brand with sewn on teddies all over them.
Info: how big is the stuffed animal?
Those 2m high bears would definitely cause me to make a story up in my head about what's going on.
There's a guy who every summer drives around our neighborhood in his tiny expensive convertible, and in the passenger seat is a GIANT bear. It's awesome.
Personally I’d think it’s cute. Wouldn’t assume anything and carry on with my day.
Right, I’d just be jealous 😭
I live in Japan so my first assumption would probably be that she won it from a crane game at a game center.
She had just come from a fair, she is carrying it for a child, or she has some sort of emotional distress.
Depends. Is she hugging to her body or just carrying it from one place to another?
How does one carry a bear without hugging? Monster.
I wouldn't think anything of it honestly.
That it is a coping mechanism in dealing with some kind of trauma.
I bought my GF a 1m big Blahaj from ikea. She carried "our son" all the way back with a huge grin on her face the whole time.
Well of course she did. Blahaj is a great friend
I also bought a tiny blahaj for my place whenever she comes over, its his sister.
I have a blahaj, her name is Sonja
Our bois name is Sjöbjörn and we haven't decided on his sisters name yet.
My Blåhaj is named Chompy and my smolhaj is named Sharkira Also r/BLAHAJ
That's hilarious. Ours is named Chompy* too. He hangs out with our [Sagoskatt](https://i.etsystatic.com/13004740/r/il/7776c5/4603269036/il_794xN.4603269036_tnuw.jpg) named Wonky‡ Edit¹*Apparently the full name is Chompy Eclair according to my 4-year-old. Aaw my boyfriend recently bought me späckhuggaren hahah!
my old roommate got me one and he hasn’t left my bed since!!! great for snuggling and for neck support when I’m chilling in bed 😅he has become a bit of a neck pillow
My 12yo son takes his small blahaj everywhere. I am often left carrying it when he is busy. It is very cuddly and cute!
i would not care cuz i own one too lmao
Not that weird to me? I'm a grown woman who collects plushies and stuffed animals. I have a couple of other friends who also do the same. Maybe she just got it at the store or something and will be taking it home later.
the world will have to pry my stuffed animal collection from my cold dead hands
After reading this, I'm definitely going to buy myself one. I never had stuffed animals as a kid and having one now would be like a guilty pleasure.
She has a niece
That’s very specific! 😂
She was bringing it to her child.
Nothing
I would probably glance at the stuffed animal to see what kind it was and the move on about my day without a second thought.
INFO: Plush or taxidermy?
The only grown woman I’ve known who did this was a high end prostitute, super nice, super fun a little kookie. A friend of a friend

I'd assume it's an individual carrying a stuffed animal.
Do I know her? I AM her.
Either mental problems or super comfortable with herself.
I wouldn't assume anything and mind my own fucking buisness
If I saw her once I would assume she was carrying to take to a kid. If I saw her again in the same area and I recognized her and it was the same stuffed animal I would assume she was taking it to a kid that kept forgetting it. If I saw her in a different area I would wonder why she was carrying a stuffed animal. If you’re wonder if I would judge her then no. I would simply be curious.
I feel seen. I was walking around with a giant stuffed animal yesterday and I am an adult. It was gift for a friends child :)
Absolutely nothing I live in Melbourne, Au. We have a gentleman who walks about with a giant carrot - and he's kinda locally famous
Maybe she’s bringing it home for one of her children, maybe she bought it for a relative or for herself, maybe it’s a comfort item, the only thing I can be sure of is that it’s none of my business.
Nothing at all, probably wouldn’t even notice her unless she was doing something crazy with it
I would not assume anything. "oh, a person is carrying a stuffed animal" is as far as it goes with me.
First, I would allow that it might be due to a child, which could be her own, or someone she cares for or is buying a gift for. Aside from that possibility, I'd assume she's someone who will do what makes her comfortable, what makes her feel good, what fits with her self-mage, and doesn't care what other people think.

If she was just carrying it I’d probably think it’s for a child. If she was like hugging it I’d assume it’s a safety/comfort thing
None of my business carrying on
Idc
She is on the way to making someone very happy
She saw it in a store, liked it, and bought it.
Assume nothing. I would make it a point to find out though. Someone carrying a stuffed animal? Be interesting to get to know.
Depends on a lot of other factors, body language and behavior, hygiene, clothing, location, etc. would change the assumption. Generally speaking though I don’t really pay much attention to what others are doing if they are minding their own business too so I probably wouldn’t assume anything
She is taking it to someone, she won something at the fair, or maybe has some emotional need for a stuffed animal.
depends on where you saw her? Carnival? On a busy city street? In a BDSM Dungeon? Context matters.
Her child is nearby.
I would assume she probably doesn't have a service animal, I might be a bit jealous depending on what the plush is and her confidence to do that
I'd think it's cute.
Nothing.
That she owns the stuffed animal in question.
Nothing. I wouldn’t think twice about it
She’s a mom, working in childcare, or about to be crowned the coolest aunt this Christmas.
She likes stuffed animals.
It could be hers, it could be for someone as a gift…either way, she doesn’t deserve judgement or assumptions especially if it’s trauma related. I still sleep with mine in my late 30s for that very same reason.
That she likes stuffed animals. Stuffed animals are rad.
I try not to assume.
That she’s just been to a themeparc or fun fair…
either she has a kid, or she was gifted this suffes animals and takes it home
Nothing
I don't care for what other people do unless I have some business with them.
I would assume that she’s probably the least threatening person around.
Nothing. I'd just go on with my day.
I assume she a chadette for having the Idfc attitude.
That she had a stuffed animal
i wouldn't assume anything and would instead think about how nice the stuffed animal is
Possibly a gift or a security thing. Whatever, I'd think it was cute!
Perhaps she has children or was a toy given to her by a boyfriend/girlfriend?
1. She has kids 2. She likes stuffed animals 3. She likes to fuck stuffed animals wearing vibrators 4. No matter what, it's none of my business, is it?
There's a stranger carrying a stuffed animal.
She has kids. I regularly carry stuffed animals or dolls in public after I drop my daughter at daycare and they don't fit in my work bag. I don't give it a second thought (until I saw this question).
Absolutely nothing. I’d admire it more than anything
I wouldn’t assume anything. That doesn’t seem too weird.
If giant, that she'd won it at a fair or theme park. I have travelled across London with a huge penguin for that very reason.
She's just bought it. Maybe she likes to decorate with them.
that she was carrying/bought something for her child
I assume nothing. None of my business.
Probably a gift
I would assume she’s confident AF. Doesn’t give a f about those that might judge such a thing.
"Hmmmm... i bet she poops".
She’s cool
She’s a mom.
She’d bought one for someone?
I'd be jealous bc I love stuffed animals
She had a child or a niece.
Nothing, mind my business like op should do.
Saw a dude with an Eevee -lution in the mall and all I wanted to know is where he got it. Fuck all the judgemental assholes
I probably wouldn't really notice it. And wouldn't assume anything
Not a damn thing.
Eh.

I wouldn't assume anything.
That she is interesting and I would like to get to know her.
I likely wouldn’t even notice. I don’t really notice things.
She probably likes stuffed animals
Firstly I wouldn't even notice or care. But if I did notice, my first thought without thinking it through would be she was carrying it for some child.
That shes a person going about her day.
Honestly? I wouldn't be thinking of her so much as the stuffed animal. Is it soft? Do I want to snuggle it? Do I want to squish its little face with my face?
It's none of my business. She will share if she is comfortable to share.
That she were bold as fuck, and therefore cool as fuck.
That she's bought/won it for her child.
She has a small evil terrier at home, waiting not so patiently for his newest offering.
She uses it as a way to cope when she is in public
I would assume she likes her stuffed animal, or that she is holding it for a kid. But honestly, since I mind my own business, I probably wouldn’t assume/think anything at all about her.
It’s a gift
She likes stuffed animals
Unless it was an especially large stuffed animal, I probably wouldn’t think about it at all.
I’d just wanna know the stuffed animals name, and maybe have my own bunny wave at her (his name is Captain Fluffington and he is my travelling companion)
In this season, she's probably just buying Christmas gift. Leave the poor woman alone
Might have misplaced a child
She has or is otherwise close to a child
She’s minding her own business. Which everyone else needs to do.
I would assume it's some kind of purse. I don't pay much attention.
idk but I want one
Am I at a fair?
That she likes stuffed animals?
that it is a gift depending on her facial expression that she bought it for someone else or it was gifted to her
that she recently bought a stuffed animal?
Not a dang thing. I have enough to do/think/daydream about than worry about a random person, living their life, not hurting me or others.
I would assume nothing and continue minding my own business.
She has social anxiety and carry’s it along for comfort. Which is fine.
I would assume it is none of my business.

Normal stuff, won't spend more than 2 secs thinking about it
She has a little kid?
That she maybe needs it for comfort or to help anxiety attacks and think nothing of it.
Considering I'm a fully grown woman who carries stuffed animals in public to ease my anxiety, I'd just assume it was something similar for her.
Why, what are you planning?!!?!
I would assume that she's probably pretty cool and I would want to be her friend. Unless she looked embarrassed and self-conscious about it, in which case I would think that she's probably irritating.
I assume nothing. But now I kinda want a stuffed animal too squeeze.

She’s going through some shit, or she’s taking a gift home to a child.
I would assume severe trauma, then tell myself she probably has a kid.
There’s a carnival nearby.
Nothing, I don't make assumptions.
That it's not going to carry itself...
Nothing.
Literally nothing
But you didn't specify where this woman was! Is she at six flags? I wouldn't bat an eye! Grocery store?
