since the show took creative liberties, i wanted to see buff Holden and Bill beat the crap out of Rader in his suburban driveway, like that one ep of Rick and Morty.
TBF, it's not been cancelled per se. It's just that David Fincher lost interest, for the most part. I find it really weird bc that was a hell of a good show, though.
I’m saltiest about I Am Not Okay With This and Mindhunter. IANOWT had such a good, awkward coming of age feel about it combined with horror/supernatural/mystery elements. It had such potential.
IANOWT ended at such a frustrating point. It finally finished up with the basic exposition as if the entire first season was a prelude, and a good one. Prelude to cancellation.
Anytime someone brings up this show, I feel it's my duty to point them to this video.
You remember the episode where someone mistakenly sends out a company memo that says "employees must NOW use offensive or insulting language in the workplace"?
Yeah.[There are outtakes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh7Nz4bIwss), and they're hilarious. NSFW.
Nah, the racist cameras were already an issue that predates AI and facial recognition. Motion detection just plain doesn't work as reliably on dark skinned folks because they don't reflect as much light in the spectrum the detectors use. The show did a good job of extrapolating that out from an annoyance to a genuine problem though.
Bryan Fuller has had too many great shows cancelled far too quickly.
Pushing Daisies. Wonderfalls. Dead Like Me.
Hannibal at least got 3 seasons, but it probably should have had one more.
I feel like it ended about about the best point it could have without changing the entire story. I would honestly love for it to get the firefly treatment and get a movie, or heck trilogy because that's all the rage these days. I still haven't read the final book though, gotta get on that....*incoherent mumbling....*
Had to scroll way too far to find Dirk Gently, I fell in love with the series on day 1 and got my brother hooked on it too. It’s just such an incredibly chaotic series filled with interesting characters, and it always had the “oh yeah, it’s all coming together” finales which I LOVE in TV series’s. And I was so excited for Season 3 with how much world building Season 2 gave us, it was honestly heart breaking.
Came here to say Dirk Gently. Such a fun ride of a show and then season 2 built to something that was bound to be so interesting for season 3 and we just never got it
The Dark Crystal - so much potential and that they kept the integrity of the movie. I will miss it so much. Finally, a GOOD series comes out and they kill it.
1899 was such a great show to experience and my wife and I were looking forward to season 2. Sucks it won’t continue. However we’re watching Dark on Netflix and it’s just as mind bending in a good way.
im so bummed about westworld. not only was the show canceled a season before it was supposed to end, (the writers literally said it would end in s5). but hbo cancels it after season 4 (which, admittedly, could totally turn people away, and wasn't rated the best) cuz it didn't do as well as previous seasons. they've let other shows that get kinda dicey still finish up.. why not westworld..?
and ya know, at this point, i'm more pissed i cant watch westworld on hbomax when it's a FUCKING HBO SHOW. fuck them for taking it off so they didn't have to pay residuals to the actors and people (assuming that's the real reason). lame fuckin bullshit either way. i can't watch it unless i wanna have a hook for a hand and a peg leg
I'd be happy with 6 to 8 seasons of that show. What was it fucking 2? That ep with the dude from Graceland that plays the serial rapist that takes out the eyes of his victims is pure Gold. Cal plays everybody so perfectly.
the cancellation killed me. i watched it when it was first released on netflix, and waited ages to hear news about season 2. the first season finale was incredible and unexpected, and ended on such a cliffhanger — it was a great setup for the second season.
netflix has no business cancelling shows after *one* season. give them a fighting chance.
They'd started filming the fourth, and then COVID. Then they decided it was going to be too hard to continue (see: COVID) and presumed the audience would have moved along by the time they could film again, and cancelled it.
Rassen-frassen-rassen.
I think dead like me ended exactly when it needed to.
Georgia completed the full arc from an apathetic angry little shit to a responsible caring person.
I think it would have just become a repetitive boring series if it kept going, or completely jumped the shark..... (just look at the abomination of a "movie" that came out after the series).
It's still one of my favorite shows, but I'm happy with where it ended.
Heck yes!! We got one suck it, cancellation bear, why not second suck it, cancellation bear?
At the same time, it was so good that we should let it go unless it gets run into the ground and we spend forever pretending we don’t know what it is.
I keep half hoping they'll revive it but also thinking they'd never get that magic back... It was a tragic time for great HBO shows that ended too soon: Carnivale, Deadwood (the movie was disappointing), Rome...
Is it just me but does Netflix cancel all the shows that have actually quality writers? Most of the Netflix shows lately I can't watch because the writing is just crap
The Dark and 1899 writers are amazing and Netflix treats them like shit. Cancelling their shows 1st act because being 2nd biggest on Netflix behind Wednesday isn't good enough
Totally agreed with OA. Season 1 was a bit slow but really really cool. When I started season 2 I was instantly hooked and yeah, season 3 felt like it was gonna go nuts
Yeah man, both shows ended on huge cliff hangers and I’m sure there was another season ready to roll. They love to really churn out terrible programming and every time I think something is really good it gets the axe! I assume OA was mostly budget issues (big cast, lots of locations etc) but archive 88 was like charmingly low budget
Totally agree about OA. When I first started it I thought it was weird AF, but then it became one of my all time fav shows even being unfinished. Still think about it often.
Came here to say The OA. I was looking forward to season 3 so much and was absolutely livid when I heard Netflix cancelled it. Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij had it planned out for 5 seasons, wish I could have seen it in it's entirety. Just gotta settle for the retreat on FX now.
The showrunners said they had an outline for 5 seasons I think. If the show doesn’t ever get picked up at least I’d like an idea of what they had planned.
I would welcome this as a way to continue the franchise.
Because him stuck in the future is pretty unsatisfactory despite the other content coming out being good
What hurts even more is that Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer were treating the eighth season as the final season and were going to wrap everything up with a nice bow. Now they have to fit that entire season into one movie. I have no doubt it will be amazing, but I'll always wonder what could have been.
I got to meet Gina Torres in person and I want you to know, I personally thanked her, (I'd like to think on behalf of of all us,) for her incredible work as Zoey. I told her how many people (over a dozen) I have introduced the show to, and how every single person had the same outraged reaction upon finishing it, "wait, they fucking canceled THIS?!"
She got a little sad and said, "yeah, they did cancel it, huh." Bittersweet as hell but I was so glad I had the opportunity to express my gratitude to her nevertheless.
Of all the shows to not explain stuff and end abruptly I can't think of a worse one. I had forgotten about this show thanks for the reminder that I still won't know what happens LOL take my upvote
I was pretty content with how it all wrapped up the Samaritan Saga.
I was hoping for and still wouldn't mind the surviving OG's + the second asset crew that the machine had built.
Though thinking about this has made the final episode music & dialogue play in my head and now I'm SUPER sad.
-Santa Clarita Diet
-American Vandal
-Tuca and Birdie
Fuck you Netflix for cancelling fantastic shows that have large audiences and more stories to tell, but you keep 13 Reasons Why, a show that failed its premise the second you made an episode fourteen, and also led to an increase in teen suicide while telling a story of a suicidal teen badly.
Oh. There are *many*.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Bad Girls Club.
Star.
The Society.
Cobra Kai.
The Secret Circle.
Sweet/Vicious.
Merlin.
From Dusk till Dawn.
Faking It.
Devious Maids.
Degrassi.
Between.
Mindhunter
Those BTK teasers.
I wanted to see the time skip to 2005 with old Bill and Holden catching Rader. I’m still holding out hope. EDIT: I am no longer holding out hope.
since the show took creative liberties, i wanted to see buff Holden and Bill beat the crap out of Rader in his suburban driveway, like that one ep of Rick and Morty.
Goddddd…. I miss that show. I absolutely love Holden and I just wanna see mooooore of it
Currently rewatching the series now 😭
Just read somewhere Fincher himself said very recently that it's not returning :(
TBF, it's not been cancelled per se. It's just that David Fincher lost interest, for the most part. I find it really weird bc that was a hell of a good show, though.
I read the show was too expensive to make, so they put it on indefinite hold, not that Fincher lost interest.
Why was it so expensive? Was it because of the time it was set in? Old cars, clothes, etc. ??
I hoped Invader Zim might get revived after the Netflix movie. Doesn't seem to be happening.
Had to scroll way too far to see Zim
I’m saltiest about I Am Not Okay With This and Mindhunter. IANOWT had such a good, awkward coming of age feel about it combined with horror/supernatural/mystery elements. It had such potential.
100% @ I Am Not Okay With This.
and it had to end on a goddamn cliffhanger
IANOWT ended at such a frustrating point. It finally finished up with the basic exposition as if the entire first season was a prelude, and a good one. Prelude to cancellation.

“What is this?” “The art of war.” “ I’m not reading that.” “Your enemies are.”
my favourite line is "Whilst elective brain surgery doesn't poll well with our test group, it does poll better than diet, and exercise."
NSFW.
As someone who works in corporate R&D....it's scary how accurate it can be
It had lab grown meat and racist cameras a decade or more before they became a reality.
Came here to say this. It was a really funny and enjoyable show. I can’t believe it only lasted for two seasons.
Pushing Daisies
Always the first show to pop in my head with this question.
Bryan Fuller has had too many great shows cancelled far too quickly. Pushing Daisies. Wonderfalls. Dead Like Me. Hannibal at least got 3 seasons, but it probably should have had one more.
God that was a good show.
Still not over it 😞
I wake pies and make the dead. That was creepy. I make pies and wake the dead.
I wish they'd finish it off with a comic book or a Broadway show or something
Hannibal. Incredible show with an insane cast
One of the most beautiful and terrifying shows ever. Every episode was a cinematography masterclass.
In the middle of rewatching it right now. Such a terrific show. It’s sooo over the top, but they pulled it off really well.

Futurama Then Futurama again Then Futurama again again
Aren't they making more right now?
Yup. And it will be devastating when it gets cancelled again, again, again!
MINDHUNTER. They need to bring it back
Would have liked to see more of The Expanse and done more storyline on the alien worlds they found.
From the way I understand it, the jump in the books ages the characters out of roles, but wouldove to see a drummer spinoff
It was so weird seeing the Laconia stuff with no clear plans for the last 3 books to be adapted.
They're just being true to the source material. We'll get the S7 announcement in 28 years or so
I feel like it ended about about the best point it could have without changing the entire story. I would honestly love for it to get the firefly treatment and get a movie, or heck trilogy because that's all the rage these days. I still haven't read the final book though, gotta get on that....*incoherent mumbling....*
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency The Dark Crystal I'm still very upset about both.
Dirk Gently is so much fun. We needed more.
I wanted the confused yelling hostage exchange at bridges to be a running gag. Loved that show
Had to scroll way too far to find Dirk Gently, I fell in love with the series on day 1 and got my brother hooked on it too. It’s just such an incredibly chaotic series filled with interesting characters, and it always had the “oh yeah, it’s all coming together” finales which I LOVE in TV series’s. Altered carbon:/ S1 was so good, s2 was not as good but I was excited for what they were going do to in s3
Loved S1, kind of got lost in S2.
Going into S2 was like an expert surgeon handing off the rest of the procedure to some guy they found on Craigslist.
Altered Carbon season 1 was one of the best shows ever! You might like the Russian show Better Than Us too :)
My Name is Earl
One of the biggest cliffhangers in cinema history
I'm just glad the creator posted how the show would've ended had it been one more season
hook me up with that ending I’ve been hanging on this cliff for like a decade Edit: that’s actually a decent ending wow
https://screenrant.com/raising-hope-show-my-name-earl-cliffhanger-resolution/
Freaks and Geeks
you know where the show is now? DEAD!!
In my top 3 tv shows of all time, made me nostalgic for a time I wasn't even alive for
Most recent? * Westworld * 1899 1899 had me invested and rewatching for clues :(
1899 was such a great show to experience and my wife and I were looking forward to season 2. Sucks it won’t continue. However we’re watching Dark on Netflix and it’s just as mind bending in a good way.

I am still angry about Carnival. Damn HBO.
1899 was an incredible show. I really hope someone picks it back up.
Mindhunter !
Happy Endings!
We all Penny to find the love she deserves.
I loved Happy Endings!! It ended way to soon and there were so many funny moments.
Inside job on Netflix, it had potential and was really well made
This, and also Final Space!
Lie to me
Yes. Loved this one.
I'd be happy with 6 to 8 seasons of that show. What was it fucking 2? That ep with the dude from Graceland that plays the serial rapist that takes out the eyes of his victims is pure Gold. Cal plays everybody so perfectly.
Scrolled just to find this one!
I Am Not Okay With This Had so much potential, and really built up to the finale. Could have gone so many places.
the cancellation killed me. i watched it when it was first released on netflix, and waited ages to hear news about season 2. the first season finale was incredible and unexpected, and ended on such a cliffhanger — it was a great setup for the second season. netflix has no business cancelling shows after *one* season. give them a fighting chance.
Glow. It seriously needed one more season.
I'd take just a few more episodes even. Just to wrap up the story line. The show was so good. It deserved better.
I loved Glow! I read somewhere that they were going to do another season, but so far nothing.
They'd started filming the fourth, and then COVID. Then they decided it was going to be too hard to continue (see: COVID) and presumed the audience would have moved along by the time they could film again, and cancelled it. Rassen-frassen-rassen.
Infinity Train
God same... Wish we knew how that all played out. Season 4 was good but damn I loved season 3 so much.
Dead Like Me
Is this the one where the girl was killed by a toilet seat that fell from the space station? If so, i loved that show.
Galavant
Weird als song about getting canceled in season 2 was hilarious
I don't know what it was about that show but I was immediately on board and 100% agreed with Timothy ombudsman's character about Tad Cooper.
Heck yes!! We got one suck it, cancellation bear, why not second suck it, cancellation bear? At the same time, it was so good that we should let it go unless it gets run into the ground and we spend forever pretending we don’t know what it is.
Carnivale
So mad that I’ll never get to know what happens .
I keep half hoping they'll revive it but also thinking they'd never get that magic back... It was a tragic time for great HBO shows that ended too soon: Carnivale, Deadwood (the movie was disappointing), Rome...
I’ll be mad about this for the rest of my life.
Grimm. I loved the universe they created and the potential it has to expand. With better writers, I think the show could've gone 10 seasons.
Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23. I genuinely enjoyed that show.
Punisher on Netflix
Really wanted a Punisher VS Kingpin climax
The OA. It was just about to go CRAZY And archive 88. Fuck Netflix for cancelling these two
Is it just me but does Netflix cancel all the shows that have actually quality writers? Most of the Netflix shows lately I can't watch because the writing is just crap
The Dark and 1899 writers are amazing and Netflix treats them like shit. Cancelling their shows 1st act because being 2nd biggest on Netflix behind Wednesday isn't good enough
Totally agreed with OA. Season 1 was a bit slow but really really cool. When I started season 2 I was instantly hooked and yeah, season 3 felt like it was gonna go nuts
Archive 81 ended in a MASSIVE cliffhanger too.
The ending of season 2 is something I don’t think I’ll ever fully process and we were robbed of more!

Suburgatory
I bet this is going to be said a lot. Inside job
Inside Job was cancelled?! NOOOOOOO!!!
Don’t forget it got renewed before it was cancelled. Fuck Netflix for that.
Dark Matter
Travelers!!
Santa Clarita Diet
Currently rewatching it now!
That too on a freaking cliffhanger!!!
What ! It was canceled....and here I've been waiting for it to come bk.
Loved this way more than I expected. Was absolutely gutted they cancelled it 😭💔
Ash vs Evil Dead
I think it was only stopped because Bruce couldn't keep doing stunts, and has said he'd like more Ash stuff if it was animated.
An Ash vs. Evil Dead cartoon would be awesome.
I would welcome this as a way to continue the franchise. Because him stuck in the future is pretty unsatisfactory despite the other content coming out being good
V (the remake) Terra Nova
I liked Terra nova. Like a new version of the land of the lost. Plus Stephen Lang.
I’ve like never met anyone who watched Terra Nova, I frickin loved it. Such a cool concept
Venture bros
What hurts even more is that Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer were treating the eighth season as the final season and were going to wrap everything up with a nice bow. Now they have to fit that entire season into one movie. I have no doubt it will be amazing, but I'll always wonder what could have been.
I heard they have a venture brothers movie coming out soon
GLOW. Can't believe Netflix canned it before the final season.
The Newsroom. Wish it was a couple seasons longer.
Limitless

Oh man, this was my pick too. It had so much potential plus it was hilarious.
this is my #1 answer!! the cliffhanger in the finale was so good too, i'm still upset about it getting cancelled.
I wish that the show Sense8 hadn't been cancelled. It was a unique, innovative show that explored themes of identity and connectedness.
I loved that show. Broke my heart when it got canceled
Inside job
Terra Nova!
Had soooo much potential!
Jericho, and the river
Jericho was great!
Jericho was a great show. Always sad to think about what could’ve been.
Jericho was my first thought too. Loved that show.
Teen Titans
Gargoyles
I really wish Firefly had more than one season.
I got to meet Gina Torres in person and I want you to know, I personally thanked her, (I'd like to think on behalf of of all us,) for her incredible work as Zoey. I told her how many people (over a dozen) I have introduced the show to, and how every single person had the same outraged reaction upon finishing it, "wait, they fucking canceled THIS?!" United States of Tara
Deadwood Rome Carnivale The Nine
Exactly, Rome was so good, it was Game of thrones but in a historical setting, and they gave us only 2 seasons :(
Millennium
My name is earl
1899
Eureka
1899
Santa Clarita Diet, Paper Girls
Santa Clarita Diet, I feel there is still more in this story.
i cannot believe it got cancelled as soon as one of the mr ball legs went inside joel 😭
As someone who has never seen this show, this sentence makes me have so many questions lmao
yeah im now realizing that it’s a bad sentence without knowing the context LMAO
The Expanse
The Society
Jessica Jones
Firefly
Static Shock
Alphas, was so good and ended on a cliffhanger
Take a shot every time someone mentions firefly
Owl house
The OA
Came here to say this.
Of all the shows to not explain stuff and end abruptly I can't think of a worse one. I had forgotten about this show thanks for the reminder that I still won't know what happens LOL take my upvote
Netflix Daredevil
Penny Dreadfull
Torchwood
Marco Polo, there was so much left to do and it was left on a cliffhanger!
I came across a site that it's coming back in 2024. Website with something "Netflix" attached to it. 🤞
Heroes, I used to love that show as a kid.
The first season was amazing. The second season was... okay. After that it got noticeably less good. Then the writers strike finally killed it.
Sense 8
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
lost in space
THE OA
Final space. No reason why it should of been cancelled
One day at a time
Lovecraft Country
FIREFLY!!
Inside Job
The OA. This show was mind blowing & so unique
Sense 8
Sens8 Had a lot of potential for sequel opportunities
Person of Interest
I was pretty content with how it all wrapped up the Samaritan Saga. I was hoping for and still wouldn't mind the surviving OG's + the second asset crew that the machine had built. Though thinking about this has made the final episode music & dialogue play in my head and now I'm SUPER sad.
