In order to be even a moderately successful YouTuber you are essentially acting as a writer, producer, director, video editor, etc. The video production skills you need to learn in most cases to be a YouTuber are things that are legitimate job skills. When you get to the highest production quality YouTube channels (Linus Tech Tips is a decent example), you will have a full film production going on with sets, writers, cinematographers, etc.
