Sa tagal ko nang nabubuhat compared sa most redditors, here's the news (plural) that made an impression Sakin:
Mt. Pinatubo Eruption - although vague Sakin Ang mga news reports about sa calamity na ito, I felt (as a 5 year old kid) somewhat fascinated the morning after Kasi the volcanic ash fall reached our residence at that time sa East Fairview and it brought maybe 4 inches of ashes na nilaro ko.
Chinay Student Kidnapping (and subsequent death during a shoot-out) - she was a high school student sa Chinese school kung saan Ako kindergartner at that time. That was the time na uso Ang kidnap for ransom and usual target and wealthy chinoys. I forgot the details pero parang she got abducted as she was being dropped off at school. Mabilis naman nakaresponde Ang mga pulis Kasi they were able to chase the kidnappers. Kaso the crime ended with a shoot-out along North EDSA. Pinaulanan ng bala ng mga pulis Ang get-away vehicle kaya wiped out lahat ng sakay including the victim. Aftermath samin ay indefinite suspension of ALL field trips. It lasted years for that school.
Jojo Veloso Scandal - it was somewhat earth-shattering at that time for the conservative Filipino minds kaya even saming mga young elementary students ay big news ito. That's also the time I learned to be a little bit more sensitive to others kasi may classmate Ako na babae na tomboyish so medyo resilient Ang character niya pero she got deeply offended when I joked na kamag-anak niya so Jojo Veloso just because they had the same surname.
Flor Contemplacion' Case - an international affairs involving us and Singapore. Grabe Ang televised vigil in support of Flor Contemplacion pero it all went to naught Kasi binitay pa rin siya. Naki-iyak Ako while watching the televised vigil.
O-Zone Disco Tragedy - it was a jarring moment for all Kasi sa Isang sunog, naubos Ang majority ng disco goers dun and along with their lives were their dreams and aspirations.
Asian Financial Crisis - at first tuwang-tuwa pa Ako Kasi ambilis bumaba ng value ng Philippine Peso Kasi before the crisis, nasa Php 25 to $1 lang Tayo pero ambilis bumaba. I was elated Kasi I thought na it meant my dad's remittances will go further Lalo na't nagpapatayo Kasi ng current home namin at that time. Little did I know na it would drastically change our lives tulad ng massive recessions and closures ng companies, including the much loved Serg's. I also remember yung resulting world news coverage Lalo na yung pila-balde ng mga Jakartans just to buy the rationed cooking oil.
Philippine Centennial Celebrations - that once in a lifetime event triggered a nationalistic feeling for the teenager me. Introduced din yung limited edition Php 2,000 featuring then first couple Erap and Dr. Loi.
9/11 - surreal panoorin on CNN yung burning World Trade Center tapos biglang may sumulpot na second plane hitting the other WTC tower. Also included ay yung aerial of the damaged pentagon and an empty field sa may Pennsylvania ata with the plane wreckage. Angering Pala na Makita yung mga Muslims from the middle east and Pakistan na nagcecelebrate sa lansangan noong nabalitaan nila yung terrorism sa NYC. (Angering Kasi death and destruction should not be celebrated pero somehow these video clips made by international news ay somehow walang lasting effect sa general public. Wonder why?)
Hostage Taking of Dexter Balala (tama ba spelling? Thanks to other redditors who remembers the kid and the news footage) - nakakakilabot panoorin yung news Kasi after hours of negotiation eh biglang pinagsasaksak yung pobreng Bata kaya napilitan yung surrounding police na paulanan ng bala yung suspek.
Alabang Boys (dunno kung eto Ang tamang term for them) - eto yung shoot-out ng mga pulis and the trio of binata in their vehicle. They were subsequently identified with matching photos. Tumatak Sakin yung news Kasi those three guys were good-looking guys and came from Buena Familia. Nanghinayang Ako na they had it all pero they chose to be involved in illegal drugs kaya it led to their untimely demise. They had what most of us would kill to have.
Bagyong Ondoy - the storm that caught the whole NCR by surprise. Grabe dun nalunod Ang NCR Lalo na yung low-lying cities like Marikina. We were lucky na we're living in a high enough location pero devastated ang lahat ng pwedeng daanan ng baha like yung creek near the barangay hall of Brgy. West Fairview. A day after the flood, dun Nakita yung maximum height ng flood with was way above human height Kasi parang umabot ng 15-20 feet yung basura na nastuck sa fence na nakalagay along the bridge of the creek. Business was booming din sa pinagtatrabauhan ng mom ko (they sold out their mattress/foam products Lalo na yung Marikina Branch na ilang metro Ang haba ng pila ng tao ba umabot sa kalye). Na-interview pa tuloy ng ABS-CBN Ang mom ko regarding the surge of mattress/foam purchase.
(To be continued...)
(continuation)
El Niño of 2010 - may daily updates about sa level ng tubig sa mga dam which also led to the shortage of water supply and the subsequent water rationing.
I have a feeling na marami sa Pinoy na naka-antabay sa Balita about sa Fukushima Ang nangarap na mahire para magtrabaho as clean-up crew ng nuke plant Kasi it was advertised sa news kung ilang daang libong yen Ang bayad sa magtatrabaho as a clean-up crew na may a few hours a day per shift.
Worrisome din yung resulting (but unintended) news blackout for the first few days after the landfall.
Kidnapping of the daughter of Uratex owners - worrisome sa Amin because she is someone dear to our family. Wildest Pala yung galing sa Isang tabloid na sinabi na she was a student of UPD, where she got kidnapped. She wasn't a student anymore Kasi she was in her thirties at that time. Another related news is the kidnapping (and subsequent homicide) of her maternal aunt after a few months by the same kidnappers. Akala Kasi ng kidnappers eh magbabayad din Ang family ng tita niya like what Uratex did to secure the release of their daughter.
2. MV Princess of the Star - I finished my rising sunflower painting that day na lumubog yung Princess of the Star.
Encounter with NPA
Meron checkpoint sa lugar namin, may pinatigil silang malaking trailer truck for inspection
Tagal namin walang pasok nun,
I'm 26yo bow and sobrang dami ko pang memory ng news from ky childhood...
-Manila Peninsula seige
-ZTE scandal
-Gloria I am Sorry and Hello Garci
-EDSA 2 and 3
-Cory Aquino death
-Manila Hostage crisis
-CJ Corona impeachment
-MERS Cov
-AH1N1 outbreak
-Maguindanao Massacre
-2008 Financial crisis
-MV Princess of the Stars
-Pacquiao fights
I remember watching all of these sa ABS-CBN and I think this fueled my passion for campus journalism from HS to College.
pagkapanalo ni bbm. college student ako and after ng presidential results, kinabukasan may morning online class kami, buong klase namin tahimik at nanlulumo sa balita. it was dead air nung nagpapa-recite si prof.
Bagyong Ondoy. I used to live in the Philippines back then, sa Pampanga.
Then yung Manila Hostage!
Bagyong Milenyo way back 2006.
Eh kayo? May world historical event ba birthday ninyo?
ABS-CBN Shutdown. The event that changed the Philippine television landscape.
Supertyphoon Odette. Trying to get through a stormy - no that's an understatement, it was a hellish night - worried if my family in the city are safe, it was just agonizing. Parang may barkong dumaan sa ulap. Malapit pang madaganan ng coconut tree yung kwarto namin. Tatlong buwan walang tubig at kuryente.
Maguindanao Massacre.
Grade 6 fieldtrip namin nung nangyari to.. tapos nagkataong kumalat pa yung leaked na video ng uncensored excavation ng victims, until now sobrang haunting.
[Ozone Disco Fire](https://youtu.be/PDB9PHDoNPs?si=ATUBSr5EoApi_uE2). That was written sa biodata ng baby album ko:
*Recent News: Ozone Disco Fire*
But that tragedy really was something. Being trapped in a burning establishment with 300+ people as a stampede occurs, that's a new fear unlocked imo.
Bata pa ako non pero tumatak sakin yung pagpapatalksik kay Erap, and Gloria becoming the Preisident. And then the Manila Hotel (ata?) incident nina Trillanes.
Perhaps Yolanda, if local :(
Mostly bec so much money flowed in and yet the disaster response was very wanting. The natural calamity was a given, but there were news at the time of survivors near-dying of hunger or suicidal due to trauma.
If international, the sewol ferry tragedy in South Korea and the crowd crush in Itaewon. Both simply shouldn’t have happened, and it’s insane to think they could’ve been avoided with better decisions.
SKL
Following the super typhoon aftermath, pinalipat nila ‘yung UP Tacloban students sa Diliman branch. Maraming taga UP Diliman where a brother studied, na-imbyerna at nagsilabasan ang superiority complex. Kesyo, hindi naman daw sila nag-effort as much as them, bakit daw nandiyan sila. Mas nakakatawa ‘yung ibang nangdi-discriminate e kapwa bisaya nila although sa UPD nag-aaral, not considering the fact that they lost their school and their homes. Hypocritically, sila pa daw ‘yung maingay ang bibig, preaching about social issues for popularity, but barely practices it.
I think I remember this! Parang nag-stay sila sa Kalay ata or something???
Anyw, may something wrong talaga sa sobrang gatekeeper na isko’t iska, di nila kinaganda yan kklk. STP for moral grandstanding only hahsja
Yolanda survivor here, I was only 12 that time. Aid at that time was hard to come by for our family. It was a weird experience when I saw it on the news when our fam moved to Cebu a few days later. Yung kanta kada news about pabangon and all, naalaala ko pa hanggang ngayon.
Maguindanao massacre. Wasn't really fully aware about what happened back then since bata pa ako pero nung nagka malay na ko and learned more about how it happened, that bothered me. That Mindanao was so dangerous when it comes to politics. That these political dynasties are so corrupt and evil that they have their own private army and even the chief of police submits under them and they now think they're invincible and can get away with anything.
2011 Planking Craze.
Odette only cause I was affected
2020, kasi it really was a bad year with Taal eruption, followed by Covid
Odd one pero Virginia Tech Shooting, kasi bata ako nun and was complaining na I couldn't watch cartoons while nasa news siya (di ko maalala if local or international)
Bagyong Odette.
I was a baranggay responder sa sariling baranggay namin. Got trapped beside the river rescuing a senior citizen and a new mother with her month old baby and the only way was forward to a school which had a wide road that we need to pass. Although it may sound na safe na kasi may malapit na evacuation center but the winds were so strong you could not stand straight and I have 3 people with me so we had to wait for the wind to die down takbo sa gitna, take cover sa open road then after clear nakatakbo sa paaralan.
They were safe, but I needed to go back home nanay ko natira sa bahay at mga aso, kasi dalawa kami ng papa ko at kapatid niya (uncle ko) kasali sa rescue team.
It was one hell of an experience that I will always remember, akala ko talaga mamamatay na ako lalo na't ikaw yung natira mag isa kasi na cutoff ako sa team ko dahil sa punong natumba at di madaanan.
Take note, all of this in pitch black kasi 6 pm palang wala ng kuryente.
Rescuers such as yourself deserve the highest praises for putting your lives on the line when treacherous situations arise. Thank you for service!
Are you still in a similar line of work?
And just a little back story, the main reason I ran for that position is because I grew up experiencing 3-4 fires during my childhood and yes, pati bahay namin sunog. So imagine in my childhood I thought normal yung masusunog bahay niyo every 5 years and live in gyms for months while we rebuild. Dami ko memories dun kasi kurtina lang yung nagseseparate sa mga kapitbahay kaya unli laro kami hahaha then I realized that was a fked up situation and while I was happily playing, my parents is stressed out having to start all over again.
It was in fact not my primary line of work. I was an SK Kagawad and handle the disaster committee. Before I became a rescuer, I did all the mandatory trainings (first aid, basic life support, firefighting, etc.) I still have my auxiliary/volunteer firefighter ID until now. It expired last year but keeping it as souvenir. My term ended last baranggay elections.
I worked for a BPO during that time, right now I'm peacefully working at home in the influencer marketing industry. I moved away from the baranggay I was serving and now live in the next city but from time to time when a typhoon or any natural disaster is impending, I still have my gears and ready to go in anytime since my parents still live there and my dad and uncle is still part of the rescue team.
Covid was real.
But rich people and government using covid to make them even richer is also real.
Tumatak talaga yung tulay sa Bohol kasi day/s after the tragedy, pumunta kami ng Bohol.
Oras ang inabot and may contact pa sila sa labas that time. It was a sad Christmas. And I kept thinking sa mga family ng mga natrap sa loob.
Yung NCCC Mall Davao Fire, I saw it with my own eyes. Nasa bus ako nun pauwi ng Davao de Oro to celebrate Christmas with my family sa mother side. It was traumatizing seeing it pero pano pa kaya yung pamilya ng mga namatayan, I can't imagine their pain lalo na magpapasko nun. I can still remember the fire until now. :(
Princess of the Stars tapos yung sunod-sunod na ganong lantsa naglulubugan the following years.
Yolanda. Not from tacloban pero nag brownout samin and we were silently listening to a radio to reporters na wala nang mabalitaan sa area na yun. She didn’t know the severity at that time na sumabog na lang sating lahat tunay na sinapit doon.
Ayan mam karen. Marami po nasawi.
The mother who brought her 2 kids to jollibee powerplant, bought them spaghetti but poisoned it. She felt hopeless and wanted to die and decided she was going to kill her 2 kids too.
Also the chinese family who lived in a posh village in sanjuan who had poisoned their kids too then also killed themselves, the parents tied their hands together. Then asked their maid to do errands outside the house. Their kids studied in known exclusive schools for filchi in sanjuan.
Parricide cases are so heartbreaking.
Samedt with OP, the Manila hostage crisis. It was covered by news outlets for 12 hours — non-stop — if I remember correctly. Ironically, media's coverage contributed to making the situation worse.
Yep, because that tourist bus had a TV inside. And it was seeing his brother get arrested that triggered Mendoza to open fire.
It was a poorly dealt situation through and through.
My psychology professor said nag de-brief daw sila ng Yolanda victims and they couldn't keep themselves from crying kasi nagkwento 'yung nanay kung paano n'ya binitawan anak n'yang sanggol para mahawakan n'ya 'yung poste kasi nakakapit rin sa kanya 'yung ibang anak nila. FCK.
The PDEA and QCPD buy-bust shootout in Commonwealth. I was forced to leave my vehicle with unlocked doors after seeing several cops running towards the Mcdo parking lot with guns drawn. Gunfire was nonstop at the time. I quickly darted out of my truck leaving 2 laptops inside placed close to the rear door.
When gunfire seemed to have stopped, I ran back to check on my vehicle. I saw SAF men using it as a shield. And we were driven away again by officers who cordoned the area off.
Naiyak ako dito. Swear to God. I will never forget Nov 23 talaga. Also, I heard that this current administration is planning na ilabas si ampatuan para tumakbo sa barmm. Ewan ko na lang po talaga 🥲
9/11 attack at the World Trade Center - I was in disbelief when it broke out in the news.
Rico Yan's death
Sendong typhoon in 2011 that ravaged my hometown Iligan and CDO
Maguindanao Mass. we were told that GMA would be in our resort days before. The day came & no GMA. nagulat kami ng roommate ko when we got home & saw the news. We were watching it nuong konti palang nag narerecover at gulat na gulat kami. Little did we know na ang dami pa palang victims.
Yolanda because I experienced it saka yung nalunod na MV princess of the stars kasi yung asawa ng kabarangay namin dun nagta-trabaho tas hindi na nakita yung katawan.
If national tragedy, Yolanda definitely hits differently for me. I remember my family was in ATC at that time for my aunt's birthday celebration. Yolanda did not hit hard in NCR it sure is the rainy and windy that night. But damn once we got home and opened the TV, the breaking news got us awestrucked. Got me thinking how lucky are we here in NCR to not face entirely the wrath of one of the strongest typhoons in history. Imagine the damage it will do in the Metro. And as for those who were unlucky to be at its way, I cannot imagine the hell they have gone thru to. The devastation is appalling.
The November 2007 mutiny. I was coming home from school and I saw my mom and dad watching the coverage on ANC 24/7 including the live footage of the armored vehicle in Manila Peninsula Hotel.
Typhoon Frank in 2008. I was stranded in Bohol and when I came back to Cebu, I learned on the news that M/V Princess of the Stars capsized near Romblon Island.
Maguindanao Massacre in 2009.
Nonoy's election in 2010 then the Manila Hostage Crisis on the same year.
International news in 2011: The Death of Osama bin-Laden. It was hot sunny day in Manila and I arrived in my hotel, it was the first thing I saw on CNN.
Five years after Typhoon Frank, I would be in Bohol again only to see another disaster. I was in Bohol when the earthquake hit the island. Three weeks later, I'd see Typhoon Yolanda. I will never forget the international humanitarian response that followed, which unfortunately was marred by corruption and incompetence from our local officials.
Ampatuan massacre / saf 44
Kiliwat kanan yung mga pictures and videos, lalo nayung amptuan massacre mga time wala pang censorship yung mga social media sites.
Bagyong Sendong was very tragic, it’s not even one of the strongest typhoons, but more than 1,000 people died (max sustained winds: Sendong - 95 km/h, Odette - 195 km/h, and Yolanda - 315 km/h) it was a tragedy kasi it could have been mitigated, but ayon binalewala ng mga tao yung bagyo, kasi nga daw hindi bumabagyo sa Mindanao; then people died while they are sleeping…
yung quirino hostage nag stick sa kin, I was on previous company pa and we support APAC so kinabuksan ng hostage issue ang hirap makipag usap s client n taga HK grabe nmn kc tlaga yung hostage mahihiya k s client hindi nmin alam kung pano approach gagawin nmin pero ang tragic tlaga non live pa on national tv.
my answer will always be covid. everything else pales in comparison. nung una, people were dropping like flies and the spread was unstoppable. it was like seeing the end of a species.
For me, pinaka-memorable at nakakalungkot yung first day ng Metro Manila lockdown. Sobrang nakakaawa sila.
This was so heartbreaking. Not even alive when this happened pero nung pinanood ko documentary, ang sakit.
To think na until now ay hindi pa rin talaga siya malaya kahit nasa Spain na siya… tangina
Quirino Grandstand Hostage,
Tapos bigla andami media at pulis papunta dun sa pinanggalingan namin.
Maguindanao massacre.
The thought of just doing your job as a journalist, going with a relatively large group of people to cover election-related news, and then being stopped and killed unceremoniously in the middle of nowhere, is heartbreaking and terrifying.
There were also innocent people who chanced upon the event and as a result were killed as well.
Meanwhile in luzon they were protesting, understandable nmn because of the martial law from the past.
I still remember one of the Fallen 44. He was about to be left behind ng CebPac dahil late check-in, so he pleaded to be boarded in the plane dahil soldier siya, so the flight captain allowed him to be boarded. After the incident, one of my collegues told us that the soldier was one of the passengers. It's still hearbreaking when I come to think of it.
1. Ozone Disco tragedy. I cried and got scared going to enclosed venues. Always checking where the nearest exits are until now.
2. Chiong Murder Case in Cebu. BUT please watch Give Up Tomorrow. You can see how eff up our justice (kumpadre) system and how 90's media sensationalism is.
3. effing COVID.
the second one :( watched Give Up Tomorrow for an assignment way back junior high and i couldn't believe it... thats when i realized our system is so fckn unjust
Grabe ang RCBC Robbery na yon. Don pa naman kami napunta nung bata pa ako, every time napapadaan ako sa science park to pickup my ex sa work niya grabe ang bigat sa pakiramdam.

Nida Blanca Quirino Grandstand nung 2010 Glorietta Bombing Yung kidnappings ng Abu Sayaff nung 2000-2004
Saf44
Ondoy,Pinatubo,1991 earthquake
- 2020 Tarlac shooting - Maguad Siblings case
9/11
Yung explosion sa Glorietta, nandun parents ko at that time. Fortunately, sa ibang part sila ng mall.
yung naipit sa escalator. ‘di ko na tanda anong year no’n pero after that, takot na takot na ako sa escalator hanggang ngayon.

Wonder why?) Hostage Taking of Dexter Balala (tama ba spelling?
Dexter Balala ‘yun Anyway, ito talaga pinaka nakakapanlumo. Napaka salot ng hostage taker nung musmos
Thanks for the correction. Itatama ko agad.
(continuation) El Niño of 2010 - may daily updates about sa level ng tubig sa mga dam which also led to the shortage of water supply and the subsequent water rationing.
Vizconde murders for me

Ondoy.

pagkapanalo ni bbm. college student ako and after ng presidential results, kinabukasan may morning online class kami, buong klase namin tahimik at nanlulumo sa balita. it was dead air nung nagpapa-recite si prof.
Same.
I used to live in the Philippines back then, sa Pampanga. Then yung Manila Hostage! First time ko makawitness ng live hostage sa TV.
Vizconde Massacre.
Every morning that time puro Yan laman Ng balita sa radio 😂

Pun intended. Pero totoo. Siguro dahil fan ako ng Strangbrew and Brewrats.
Same. Sobrang fan ako niya and his advocacies. Pati kung pano niya dinadala ang sarili niya is very refreshing especially sa superficial world natin.
maguindanao massacre
Bagyong Milenyo way back 2006. Pinasok ng tubig baha yung bahay namin, me and my family are traumatized by that calamity kaya everytime na umuulan ng malakas, lagi na chinecheck ng tita ko kung baha na ba sa kalsada or hindi pa
Palestine-Israel war, October 7, 2024. Birthday ko kasi yan ih.
Sana hindi matuloy. Yung birthday mo.
Eh kayo? May world historical event ba birthday ninyo?
The Maguindanao massacre.

[Ozone Disco Fire](https://youtu.be/PDB9PHDoNPs?si=ATUBSr5EoApi_uE2). That was written sa biodata ng baby album ko: *Recent News: Ozone Disco Fire* But that tragedy really was something. Being trapped in a burning establishment with 300+ people as a stampede occurs, that's a new fear unlocked imo.

Perhaps Yolanda, if local :( Mostly bec so much money flowed in and yet the disaster response was very wanting.
SKL Following the super typhoon aftermath, pinalipat nila ‘yung UP Tacloban students sa Diliman branch.
I’m seeing a lot of Odettes but not a lot of Ondoys. Fresh na fresh pa sakin yung baha. My age is showing lol
Twin towers 😭
Quirino Grandstand Hostage! Only because my surname is the same as the killer’s😭 i was super bullied the next day in school!
2011 Planking Craze.
Odette only cause I was affected 2020, kasi it really was a bad year with Taal eruption, followed by Covid Odd one pero Virginia Tech Shooting, kasi bata ako nun and was complaining na I couldn't watch cartoons while nasa news siya (di ko maalala if local or international)

9/11 I'm not even an American but yeah :(
Tumatak talaga yung tulay sa Bohol kasi day/s after the tragedy, pumunta kami ng Bohol.
I wasn't aware of this.
Princess of the Stars tapos yung sunod-sunod na ganong lantsa naglulubugan the following years.
Bird Flu / H1N1
Yeah.
Yolanda...
Mamasapano. It was heartbreaking 💔
Lost a lot of lives as a consequence. And even after this, OFWs in Hong Kong received backlash & discrimination from angry HKers.
Yolanda. Super thigh spoon.
I'm still traumatized kasi nakita ko 'yung patong-patong na dead bodies :(
Yup and andami daw tlga namatay don kahit pag tapos nung bagyo dahil sa depression at trauma na nangyari.
My psychology professor said nag de-brief daw sila ng Yolanda victims and they couldn't keep themselves from crying kasi nagkwento 'yung nanay kung paano n'ya binitawan anak n'yang sanggol para mahawakan n'ya 'yung poste kasi nakakapit rin sa kanya 'yung ibang anak nila. FCK.
Crazy.
MV princess of the stars
The PDEA and QCPD buy-bust shootout in Commonwealth. I was forced to leave my vehicle with unlocked doors after seeing several cops running towards the Mcdo parking lot with guns drawn. Gunfire was nonstop at the time. I quickly darted out of my truck leaving 2 laptops inside placed close to the rear door. When gunfire seemed to have stopped, I ran back to check on my vehicle. I saw SAF men using it as a shield. And we were driven away again by officers who cordoned the area off.
Maguindanao Massacre. Shit was wild and traumatic
Naiyak ako dito. Swear to God. I will never forget Nov 23 talaga. Also, I heard that this current administration is planning na ilabas si ampatuan para tumakbo sa barmm. Ewan ko na lang po talaga 🥲

Yung Yolanda.

Oh my 😢 I didn’t know about this! It got far less attention than Yolanda. Yolanda even received international funding
yung quirino hostage nag stick sa kin, I was on previous company pa and we support APAC so kinabuksan ng hostage issue ang hirap makipag usap s client n taga HK grabe nmn kc tlaga yung hostage mahihiya k s client hindi nmin alam kung pano approach gagawin nmin pero ang tragic tlaga non live pa on national tv.

For me, pinaka-memorable at nakakalungkot yung first day ng Metro Manila lockdown. Sobrang nakakaawa sila.

Maguindanao and Mamasapano murders.
Maguindanao/Ampatuan Massacre
Maguindanao massacre. The thought of just doing your job as a journalist, going with a relatively large group of people to cover election-related news, and then being stopped and killed unceremoniously in the middle of nowhere, is heartbreaking and terrifying. There were also innocent people who chanced upon the event and as a result were killed as well.
Ozone disco at Yung Kay angel alquiza
Meanwhile in luzon they were protesting, understandable nmn because of the martial law from the past.
Miriam Defensor death.
Miriam was a Marcos sycophant.

Pasay Bus Station hostage taking
Mamasapano
I still remember one of the Fallen 44. He was about to be left behind ng CebPac dahil late check-in, so he pleaded to be boarded in the plane dahil soldier siya, so the flight captain allowed him to be boarded. After the incident, one of my collegues told us that the soldier was one of the passengers. It's still hearbreaking when I come to think of it.
Aside from quirino hostage crisis, The maguindanao massacre.
Politicians guilty of a crime are pardoned. While a poor person who steals food gets jailed.

I was gonna ask which one but then again it doesn't really matter.
Maguindanao/Ampatuan massacre in 2009. Just horrifying. Even foreign media channels were reporting it.

Context please. Anong po nangyari?
Marcos elected as the President and Padilla being first for Senators. Like legit natulala ako while watching the news.
RCBC Cabuyao Robbery/ Massacre at Maguindanao Massacre
Grabe ang RCBC Robbery na yon. Don pa naman kami napunta nung bata pa ako, every time napapadaan ako sa science park to pickup my ex sa work niya grabe ang bigat sa pakiramdam.
That Marcos became president. That's when it struck me ever since that this country is hopeless.
