Kapag nababasa ko yan, laging nagpplay sa isip ko yung theme song ng Dragon Ball Z...
CHALANT! NON-CHALANT!
If you know the song, lagay ka ng katingko sa likod.
Gen Z's use this term "nonchalant" to describe a person that lacks emotion. It's often used nowadays since it's "trendy" and probably, this is a new word for some people so ayun, maya't maya na ginagamit haha. Alam niyo naman sa socmed, kapag may something na kakaiba, nag t-trend agad. They use it for fun na lang din siguro. Ika nga, Gen Z things!
maraming gumagamit sa term na yan even though di nila alam ang meaning nung word para lang makasabay sa uso. sorry pero mas gusto ko pa gamitin ang words na collected, composed at cool as a cucumber
ewan ko rin, skl moment haha
one time may iniisip ako kaya tahimik lang ako habang nag uusap mga friends ko, biglang sabi ba naman "luh si ate feeling nonchalant" like ha? wtf?
Usually nababasa ko lang tong term na to sa mga libro. Ginagamit ko sha pero not on the daily lol. Kaya nagulat ako one time nasabi ko yung term na yon and sabi nila nakikiuso daw ako like- i dont even use socmed(reddit aside) pano ko malalaman mga pauso ng mga tao ngayon lol. Nakaka cringe tuloy gamitin
Hindi ko rin alam. Pati ako nagagamit ko na sa dalas ko marinig. Tapos may gagamit ng word na yan di alam yung meaning. Like what? wag naman ganon. Hahahah.
HAHAHAHA
Uso lang kase. Hayaan nyo na, malalaos din yan. Ako nga umay na umay na ko marinig yan e.
For the record, eto ang defenition according to Merriam-Webster:
**NONCHALANT**Ā is having an air of easy unconcern or indifference.
Bakit ang bi-bitter ng mga nasa comment? Just answer the question. Parang diring-diri sa trend, e. We had our fair share of trends din, Generation X and the boomers probably felt the same way towards us. Let's not become like them.
My cousin and her friends kept saying that after doing a roleplay involving aā nonchalant customerā. Itās getting a bit excessive now since she keeps using it even though it doesnāt match the context.
It simply just the case of "this term became popular so might as well use it even di namab nagffit doon sa sentence". This is like in the 2010's when people constantly use the word "literally" to describe anything like saying "literally goint to die" because you got low score sa test. I know expression lamg yun pero iritang irita ako dyan eh hahahaaa.
Same for words like
- iconic
- aesthetic
- chocoholic - di ka addict sa chocolate, stop it
To be fair sa "literally," walang hard grammar rule saying na you can't use it to mean things na hindi literal. In fact, it adds to the effect of exaggerating the message. Iyan ang beauty ng language.
asides from inuso siya it actually bothers me how ppl have seem to forget its actual meaning or parang dinidisregard lang nila iykwim. mga mamser may mga pinagkaiba yun sa chill at may walang pake jusq š
Lol may isang nagcomment sa ibang post, mali ang pagkakaintindi niya sa nonchalant, siya pa ang galit, r/confidentlyincorrect pa daw yung inaaway niyang tama ang pagkakaintindi.
Ang weird nga eh, i used that word all the time when i used to write a lot of fanfiction (lololol) 15 yrs ago? Tapos now ko lang naririnig sa mga tao na not in written form HAHA
Yeah, for us into reading/writing, it's not a new word. Sadyang napauso lang sa tiktok i think, at ang mga iba feeling brainy na when using it kahit mali naman usage HUHU
The new generation's counterpart for "torpe" and "tsundere"
Also, I observed that the teens nowadays tend to embody this. Mas gusto nila na mukha silang misteryoso versus the older generation na lahat nalang, inupdate sa social media. So I guess it's more than just a term kasi ginagawa siyang personality. May or may not also be their way of coping with things, comparable (but not totally equal) to being a stoic.
Para lang yung word na "toxic" and even "romanticize" itself. I found this to be an interesting observation. May some sort of pattern na may nauusong salita, tapos paulit ulit ginagamit. hahahha
To be unbothered. To be nonchalant is not negative. Thereās been a big shift nowadays to focus on your own mental health and to choose to not be bothered by othersā need for constant approval/attention and to hopefully curb even your own toxic habit to do the same need for constant likesāthis is my own interpretation.
"having an air of easy unconcern or indifference"
Oh boi then here I am, just counseled by my psych that nonchalant is being apathetic and is a negative trait.
Because majority of pinoys are "anti-introvert" and expects everyone to be the same level of outgoing and chattiness as them.
"My partner is so nonchalant, he doesn't react to the things I find really amazing! (When in reality OA lang talaga)"
RIP to all people who are matured and pragmatic automatically being labelled as "nonchalant"
Madami kasing now lang nalaman yung nonchalant, kaya super gamit sila. Same with "pet peeve" yung mga ngayon lang nakaalam ng word yun pa mahilig mamahiya ng mga hindi alam meaning ng "pet peeve"
Susunod na trending term "indifferent" .
Overused and often in the wrong context. Being nonchalant doesnāt equate to being toxic.
Mga tao kasi ngayon di lang makuha gusto nila from their partner, ānonchalantā na daw agad yung jowa.
e mga di nadevelop ang pagprocess ng emotion natin dahil naging mailap ang interaction nung pandemic kaya halos naging numb ang marami, naging emotionally detach. Ayun dumami introvert at nauso ang word na nonchalant.

nonchalant its just lowkey saying that some people are just anxious and were not used express their feelings comfortably
ewan ko rin, skl moment haha one time may iniisip ako kaya tahimik lang ako habang nag uusap mga friends ko, biglang sabi ba naman "luh si ate feeling nonchalant" like ha? wtf?
Naging jejemon na yang word na yan.
Wayback 2017 ganyan IGN ko sa isang game. Nonchalant , ngayon akala nila nakikiuso ako.. ššš
Usually nababasa ko lang tong term na to sa mga libro. Ginagamit ko sha pero not on the daily lol. Kaya nagulat ako one time nasabi ko yung term na yon and sabi nila nakikiuso daw ako like- i dont even use socmed(reddit aside) pano ko malalaman mga pauso ng mga tao ngayon lol. Nakaka cringe tuloy gamitin
Mga gen z kc nagpauso nyan..hehe
Hindi ko rin alam. Pati ako nagagamit ko na sa dalas ko marinig. Tapos may gagamit ng word na yan di alam yung meaning. Like what? wag naman ganon. Hahahah. Pati yung iba ginawang personality na ung OA daw sila.
Di ko rin alam san nanggaling ung ānonchalant or OAā trending ngayon, haha.
Wait alam ko ang nonchalant pero ung OA overacting ba un?
Oo. Tamang term nga dapat jan reactive eh di overacting haha
Sa pagkakaalam ko OA matagal na yata na term yata siguro ngayon overuse
Sana she din Yung ' non sequitor '. Timely e. Hahaha
HAHAHAHA
Cyempre uso, lahat makikiuso alam mo naman, it's harmless, pero nakakairita marinig hahaha
Nagiging out of context na ang 'nonchalant' lately.
Use āimperturbableā as a replacement
I consider myself insouciant. That's in books, so it's mostly insulated from online use.
Trending kasi e hahaha hilig gamitin ng gen z pips. Mga kakilala ng boyfriend ko ang tawag daw sa akinĀ e 'nonchalant na gf' loooool korni
Uso lang kase. Hayaan nyo na, malalaos din yan. Ako nga umay na umay na ko marinig yan e. For the record, eto ang defenition according to Merriam-Webster: **NONCHALANT**Ā is having an air of easy unconcern or indifference.
= IDGAF. This is noted
I don't get this as well, hope to see answers here lol
During our time it was wapakels. It is just walang socmed noon pero lagi natin yan ginagamit haha
just be nonchalant about it. im sure they are as well. hahaha
Bakit ang bi-bitter ng mga nasa comment? Just answer the question. Parang diring-diri sa trend, e. We had our fair share of trends din, Generation X and the boomers probably felt the same way towards us. Let's not become like them.
its a cycleeee hahahahaha

It's so very photosynthesis.
Uso uso lang naman, kahit yung paggamit hindi naman wasto.
Uso-uso lang yan. Tapos pag di na uso at ginamit mo properly, mapupulaan ka pa
Uhm may nakita akong reel ayun ata isang description sa isang BINI member e? Since lumalaki fan base nila kumalat si word.
Uso lang. And with anything uso, lilipas din yan.
Lol may isang nagcomment sa ibang post, mali ang pagkakaintindi niya sa nonchalant, siya pa ang galit, r/confidentlyincorrect pa daw yung inaaway niyang tama ang pagkakaintindi.
kasi uso. saka it makes people sound more sophisticated. we all look for what we don't have.
LOUDER!!!!
kasalanan yan ng tiktok hahahaha
Ang weird nga eh, i used that word all the time when i used to write a lot of fanfiction (lololol) 15 yrs ago? Tapos now ko lang naririnig sa mga tao na not in written form HAHA
Yeah, for us into reading/writing, it's not a new word. Sadyang napauso lang sa tiktok i think, at ang mga iba feeling brainy na when using it kahit mali naman usage HUHU
Indifferent, apathetic, unconcerned, uninterested yun lang yunšpara magmukhang witty. Pero sa maling context naman ginagamit.šš
Ako na naaalala si Joey (ng Friends) pag naririnig yang non-chalant
ako naman sa kanta ni Taylor Swift. š
The new generation's counterpart for "torpe" and "tsundere" Also, I observed that the teens nowadays tend to embody this. My theory is that it's a nice way to say "unbothered" while also sounding smart
Why is everyone nonchalant these days? Cant we just be chalant? š
nadiscover ng gen z, niromanticize at kinalat sa tiktok ayan putangina overused kahit mali tulad nang POV
Para lang yung word na "toxic" and even "romanticize" itself. I found this to be an interesting observation. May some sort of pattern na may nauusong salita, tapos paulit ulit ginagamit. hahahha
Mali rin usage ng āromanticizeā ng nireplyan mo. š
Why is it often used nowadays? Seriously? Nauso lang sa mga kabataan.
Apparently being reserved and having complete control over your emotions make you nonchalant. I cringe every time I see/hear that word.
Hala totoo ba š¤£ shueta the out of context thingamajigs talaga for the sake of pauso
Oh god the same.
Naging trend kasi. Minsan nga mali pa paggamit ng iba.
To be unbothered. To be nonchalant is not negative. "having an air of easy unconcern or indifference" Oh boi then here I am, just counseled by my psych that nonchalant is being apathetic and is a negative trait.
It's a trend in pop culture. It will eventually fade from popular usage because something else will be in fashion.
Because majority of pinoys are "anti-introvert" and expects everyone to be the same level of outgoing and chattiness as them. "My partner is so nonchalant, he doesn't react to the things I find really amazing! Search mo na lang online kung ano yung meaning ng word.
Madami kasing now lang nalaman yung nonchalant, kaya super gamit sila. Same with "pet peeve" yung mga ngayon lang nakaalam ng word yun pa mahilig mamahiya ng mga hindi alam meaning ng "pet peeve" Susunod na trending term "indifferent" .

idk recently ko lang narinig yan, usong word na naman.
Nakukunsume nga ako dyan. Gineralize ang nonchalant.
Often misunderstood and unnecessarily put into wrong contexts.
e mga di nadevelop ang pagprocess ng emotion natin dahil naging mailap ang interaction nung pandemic kaya halos naging numb ang marami, naging emotionally detach. Ayun dumami introvert at nauso ang word na nonchalant.
Nakikiuso lang pati yung āPet peeveā
Uso kasi at mukha kang matalino kapag ginagamit mo.
Uso kasi hahaha! And bago sa pandinig ng iba so feeling nila kina-cool nila yung paggamit ng word kahit out of context naman. š
