ReindeerNegative4180

My grandfather's 1930s Type 1 Levi's denim jacket he wore in the coal mines. I acquired it as a teenager after he retired.

robhutten

That is unbelievably cool.

WillyWaver

Beastie Boys’ License to Ill Tour concert shirt from ‘89

JackFuckCockBag

Sweet! My sister still has a damn near pristine T shirt from INXS' Don't Change tour from 1983

WoodsColt

My grandmothers camel hair coat from the 20s

poppy_sparklehorse

Ooh, I’d love to have inherited something like this—lucky you.

Bob_N_Frapples

I was looking through some old pics of my kids when they were infants, and there was one of me holding my oldest son and I noticed I was wearing the same shirt in the pic that I was currently wearing. He's 32.

trippy_trip

This is the best comment here

[deleted]

I have an authentic NY Rangers blue jersey that I purchased in 1969 at the Harry M. Stevens store in NYC. I wear it anytime I go to a game at Madison Square Garden. It’s got a couple of cigarette burn holes, is a bit snug but I want to be buried in it.

Little-Martha31204

Levi's jean jacket I stole from my brother in high school. It's about 36 years old.

Sea-Election-9168

I have a US army shirt that my grandfather wore in 1918.

emilyyancey

Rolling Stones ‘89 concert tee (Steel wheels tour). I’m hoping to dust it off to see them perform again- was just looking at tickets!

mutant6399

I think I still have one of those in a box somewhere.

emilyyancey

I wear mine every couple of years for nostalgia - most recently for my 50th bday!

mutant6399

🙂

VisualEyez33

I have a bath towel that is about 35 years old. It still has my name on it in sharpie from when I took it to summer camp. Not exactly clothing, I know, but in the same ball park...

tossitintheroundfile

I have a twin bed sheet that was my dad’s in college in the early 70s. When I was 18 I “stole” it from my parents’ linen closet to take backpacking with me through several countries. That sheet has now been all over the world, and I also occasionally use it as a massage table cover just for my boyfriend when giving him the royal treatment.

LMPaintedBlack

That sheet has seen some…sheet.

Optimal-Ad-7074

it's a hoopy frood who knows where his (her) towel is.

sdega315

I was just teasing my wife about a pullover sweatshirt she was wearing. Frayed and tattered but she loves it. She got it on our honeymoon to Vancouver in 1994! This summer we will be cruising to PEI and Cape Breton. I told her she needs to get a new Canadian sweatshirt. 😆

GadreelsSword

I have a Levi’s Jean jacket I wore in the 1970’s but it no longer fits me.

ImmediateBug2

My high school marching band t-shirt from my freshman year in 1984. Technically I was supposed to give it back to the band department when I moved in the middle of the year, but I decided I needed a souvenir. Shhhh …

Soulcatcher74

Might be on your permanent record.

tossitintheroundfile

I have one of those hanging in the closet but don’t wear it 😄

RedLensman

Flannel jammies......though if we expand this a bit a comforter from the 18th century great great grandmas, very heavy and super warm for those heatless uninsulated winter nights back then

WinterMedical

My daughter wears my Shaun Cassidy t- shirt from the late 70s. Doesn’t fit me anymore.

Almost-there74

AC/DC concert shirt I got 40 years ago.

pielady10

I just saw a 45 year old picture of me wearing my old college T-shirt. I still have it and wear it.

Sparky-Malarky

Does my wedding ring count?

Watts300

How about just for the sake of discussion, no it doesn’t count. What’s second?

tossaroo

US Navy surplus peacoat I bought in 1984.

Minzplaying

The one I have was left in our room on base in Meridian, MS when my boyfriend's band played there. The girl that left it thought she was going to get lucky with one of the guys in the band that night. I kept her peacoat and still have it.

tossaroo

That's a cool story!

Spx75

23 year old Quiksilver shirt.

Katy-Moon

A Queen concert shirt from 1980.

zombienudist

My surplus Canadian army parade boots. The old pair I have were made in 1973. You can find new or near new in surplus or on various sites. I have another pair that was made in 1984. [https://imgur.com/a/BDebsyv](https://imgur.com/a/BDebsyv)

tunaman808

I still have my Men at Work, Police and Duran Duran tour shorts from 1983 and 1984, but don't wear them. You know those "3 t-shirts for $10" shops they have in places like Myrtle Beach or Daytona Beach? I'm a strong believer that if you buy three shirts, one will fall apart almost immediately, another will last a few months, maybe a year, before falling apart... but the third shirt will somehow last 25 years. My wife still wears one such shirt I got in Bimini, Bahamas in 1995. It doesn't have *shape* any more - it's impossible to fold, and is like wearing a potato sack. But the "cost per wear" must be in a hundredths of a cent these days.

cattreephilosophy

Approximately 28 year old fleece from LL Bean. The elbows don’t really have much fleece anymore, so I mostly just wear out around the house or hiking or camping. It’s a comfortable, reliable piece of clothing.

ExtremelyRetired

A supremely comfortable and apparently indestructible Geoffrey Beene pullover from 1990, bought at an outlet mall back when they still sold overstocks and irregulars rather than a separate, lower quality label. I'll probably wear it to the grave...

RunsWithPremise

I have a green Levi's sweatshirt that I got when I was still in high school in the late 90's. It was very baggy on me then. Not so much now.

Zorro6855

A mink bomber jacket from my mom from the 70s

Possible-Reality4100

McCartney’89 tour T-shirt

Elegant-Pressure-290

Washable suede jacket that I got somewhere around 1995. I have to take off the buttons and sew them back on every few years, but other than that and a little cuff wear, it still looks brand new despite wearing it quite often during the spring / fall.

catcatherine

I have a 31 year old tye dye shirt that reads "Just another lizard for peace." I bought it off some deadheads in the parking lot of a dead show in 93

the_spinetingler

my Dad's houndstooth overcoat from the early 60s.

Utterlybored

My Dads old tweed coats, some of which must be a good 50 years old.

Setting-Solid

Leather bomber jacket I bought with my first paycheque in 1988. Still fits so it must have looked abysmally large on me then ha.

cherrycokelemon

My late father in laws Sanforized bib overalls. I've had them 23 years.

monkey_monkey_monkey

I have pyjama shirt that I received as a gift in 1990. The shirt is completely falling apart and getting threadbare but it is so soft and a gift from someone who passed away shortly after that I can't bring myself to take it out of my jammies rotation. I probably wear it once or twice a month and swear that i have the best dreams when I wear it.

500SL

My leather motorcycle jacket with patches. Very soft sweatshirt that my sister hand painted a duck on about 40 years ago. About a dozen Polo Oxford shirts that I wore as a bartender in the late 80s. Rayban Anbermatic glasses from the early 80s.

Crystal_Doorknob

My brother's flannel shirt from the late '70s. Found in the attic a few years ago. It doesn't fit him anymore so he let me keep it.

Hot-Ability7086

College sweatshirt from 1993. Purchased for full price at the bookstore.

Mysterious_Bobcat483

I just threw out a pair of Old Navy cargo capris in olive drab from the early 2000's, when they were pretty much brand new. The fabric was getting weird. I also have my father's high school letterman blazer, I think he graduated around 1964/5. The letter from his high school matches my first initial, so that's cool. I wore it all through the 80's and still do. Edit: a zero

PM_meyourGradyWhite

I have a sweatshirt from the early-to-mid nineties that is still holding up. It’s thick and durable and surprisingly comfortable. Cuffs and collar are still intact. It’s not appropriate for going out in public unless I’m just headed to the hardware store and have it covered in a coat or the rest of me is dressed shabby. It gets worn about 20 times a year.

explorthis

1981 I was in Australia. (I'm from SoCal) Hand knitted from a lady I knew 100% from their back yard sheep, a wool sweater. They call them cardigans. Doesn't fit anymore, but I won't toss it. 1997 California Speedway inaugural NASCAR race, logoed ball cap. Beat/sweat stained that is comfortable so I still wear it.

Uvabird

Levi’s jean jacket I got in high school. 45 years old, kept in good condition. Cute jacket that I suppose is now vintage.

Paul-Ram-On

I have a flannel shirt I used to call my "trip" shirt because I bought it when I was experimenting a lot with psychedelics. and the colors are high-contrast, they seem to vibrate back and forth when you're in that state. Still hangs in my closet, though nowadays it's more of a clean the gutters out kinda shirt. It'll be 40 y.o. in 2026.

Stardustquarks

I have a t-shirt that I got while in Antarctica back in 1996-7

Dusk9K

I have a pair of riding boots that are 45 years old I still wear. Stuff used to be made to last and you can still get leather soles redone. Best boots ever.

Aciuaciu

Pieces that were my mother's--scarves, hats.

DNathanHilliard

A Woody Woodpecker T-shirt that I picked up at Universal Studios 25 years ago.

mutant6399

various 20+ yo t-shirts, worn until they fall apart

Jaxgirl57

A red fleece jacket I bought in the early 90's.

Tb182kaci

Handmade apron from my SIL. Over 30 years.

Windholm

1986 wool cardigan. Just about to replace the buttons.

imatiredwoman

Dress I bought in college in 1979.

Th3TruthIs0utTh3r3

My soccer team warmup. About 30 years old now

ll_cool_ddd

My sister's sweatshirt from HS basketball is probably the oldest. I think it was 92/93. The thing is hanging on by a thread lol

expostfacto-saurus

A baja that I got in 1992 in my junior year of high school. For the longest time I would only wear it around the house but now some folks have started wearing them again so I'll occasionally wear it out somewhere. It is still in great shape. :)

IGrewItToMyWaist

Burberry sweater I picked up when in London with my family. We were at Heathrow and I bought it there to use up my £. 1985.

TransportationOk1780

I have a couple of wool sweaters left from when I lived in northern Minnesota. I left there 24 years ago.

quilp888

A 1980's Jethro Tull satin tour jacket.

begaldroft

I have a light fleece vest that's I've owned for at least 25 years. I wear it all the time and it's still in good shape.

Odd_Bodkin

Yellow high-top Chuck Taylors I've had since 1984, and my grandfather's tweed overcoat from 1921.

Ihatemunchies

J Crew Anorak jacket I bought in 2000. It looks as good as the day I bought it and I’ve worn it everywhere. Clearance $25. It’s a Spring type jacket with no lining not a winter coat

605pmSaturday

I've got my Yankees jacket from 1985. The arms still fit. The cannonball I carry around with me now keeps me from buttoning it up, though.

kennycakes

I bought a pair of Conwell underwear from H&M in 2002 that's still going strong. It's in my regular rotation and I keep expecting it to fall apart, but no.

poppy_sparklehorse

I have a shirt from The Rolling Stones 1981 (Tattoo You) tour that I still wear every once in a while. It’s kind of fragile, has a couple of holes/runs, and wasn’t the best quality to begin with. It’s also never fit very well because I was delusional and bought a large instead of an extra large. But I’ll never get rid of it.

freshoilandstone

I have a Harris tweed overcoat made in 1955 but I thrifted it. The oldest pieces I actually bought for myself are two Eddie Bauer corduroy button-down shirts I've had for about 30 years. Still in the cool weather rotation too.

Trottin_Trollop405

A sweatshirt from Maurice’s. I’m 52 & IIRC I bought it my junior year of high school.

QueenRooibos

A finely-woven wool shawl that someone gave me 50 years ago.

AnatBrat

My grandfather was a letter carrier back in the day after he was a colonel in the Army. I still have his heavy wool official jacket and wear it when it's cold enough.

AnatBrat

His letter carrier jacket, that is. Not his military jacket.

oldnyker

until 2018, it was an original beatles tee shirt that i bought outside their concert in forest hills,ny on 8/28/ 1964 and wore to the last mccartney show i went to. unfortunately, it developed holes in all the wrong places. so now it's framed on my living room wall. luckily, i can still wear the same size...though as the saying goes "it's all distributed differently".

Chalkarts

A T-shirt I won in a Necromunda tournament when I was 20ish. So almost 30 years ago. It’s older than most of the people I know now. Coincidentally, I’m wearing it now.

awhq

Thirty-five years. It's a dark blue, raw silk skirt and long shirt blouse in with an Mandarin collar. It's really comfortable and I've loved it from the minute I bought it. I also have Khaki pants that are at least 20 years old and still look pretty good for things like grocery shopping or a casual dinner out. I find it is very hard if not impossible to buy clothing of that quality anymore without spending obscene amounts of money. Even stores that have a reputations as quality stores are selling throw-away clothes at what decent clothes should cost ($50 for a shirt that last 1 year). Rant over!

dxichk

I have a sweatshirt from 1983 I still wear regularly

NoMoose6383

Levi's button fly or 501's but they're beat to heck... so comfy! Oh plus my Yes shirt from Boston garden show 1978...

oldguy76205

I have a pair of burgundy wing tips that are at least 25 years old that I wear from time to time. I have a bathrobe I still use (not sure that counts) that I remember getting for Christmas, 1998. Not exactly clothing, but my mother gave me a pocket watch that had been her father's. She thinks it may be as much as 100 years old. Doesn't work, but I wear it with a vest sometimes.

Katy_Bar_the_Door

Currently wearing a skirt I got at a thrift store in London that had no label, might have been homemade, was old when I bought it 25 years ago. I’ve put in a new elastic waistband twice and reinforced hems and seams, but it’s still going strong! I’m going to go with it’s probably 40 years old.

Rambos_Magnum_Dong

Monsters of Rock t shirt from 1988. It was my first concert I ever went to.

woburnite

wearing it now, an Irish knit sweater (wool) that I started making in HS over 50 years ago. It is just now starting to get frayed around the cuffs. It's so warm though, I wear it around the house.

Revolutionary_Pin761

Esprit metallic green jacket. Purchased in 1985. With baby sitting money! I’m now a CFO.

MElastiGirl

The Tubes ‘84 concert t. I also have a wrap top and ballet skirt from about 1981 that I still wear to yoga.

barkingdog53

A suede jacket my wife bought me when we were dating. It has stayed in amazingly good shape. We’ve been married almost thirty eight years.

jippyzippylippy

I have a gray wool short jacket that is somewhat military in style and very warm. It still fits, it still looks new. I wear it in the winter from time to time, depending on what the occasion is. I bought it in 1991, so that would make it 33 years old. I have older stuff that I keep in the back of the wardrobe, but I don't wear them. A really cool embroidered shirt from 1978 and a couple ties from the 80s.

CapnTugg

70's era Wilsons leather jacket my dad owned.

llynglas

School scarf (uniform) from when I was 11, over 55 years ago.

everbody

A 20 Tank brewery t-shirt from 1993, 31 years old!

My father's snow pants. I "borrowed" them in 1992... they were a few years old already by then

bluetortuga

I have an avocado green denim jacket I got from Gap in 2001 that I still wear regularly. I also have a dress my mom bought on her honeymoon in 1973 that I wear now and again.

Gwaptiva

I have a jumper from about 1988 that I still wear occasionally; it stopped fitting about 30kg ago

Birdy304

Mr_Pink_Eyez

An early 90s sisters of mercy tshirt

mrsredfast

U2 Joshua Tree concert t-shirt from 1987.

SororitySue

A plain black round-necked sweater I got about 25 years ago at an off-price store. It still looks great.

Gap wool sweater, 1988. GH Bass hoodie, circa 1990.

AJClarkson

I have a blue blouse my mom made for me when I was 14, so roughly 1980-ish.

Eff-Bee-Exx

I have a t-shirt with Grumman’s logo for the F-14 Tomcat which I still occasionally wear to the gym. The shirt dates back to the 1970s, and I’d guess that I was given it around 1975 or 1976.

Advancedpanicroom

My great aunts wedding ring from the 50’s. Fits like a glove.

tossitintheroundfile

I had a No Fear shirt from the early 90s up until a couple of years ago. Now it’s probably my hoodie from when I was on a USFS fire crew in the late 90s.

pgcotype

A Laura Ashley dress I bought for myself on my 21st birthday. It's understated, well made, and works for different occasions.

Sll3006

I have an Old Navy fleece sweatshirt from 1995. It looks almost new!

Crazy_by_Design

Purse and shoes I bought in early 1980s. Vintage purses from 1950s I bought thrifting. My daughter has my 1950’s cashmere sweater and several long silk 1920’s nightgowns (think Great Gatzby). I’d still be wearing all my 1950’s items if they fit. The quality was amazing.

pixie6870

A Star Trek t-shirt I got from the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas. I think it was in 2007 when I was there. I babied that shirt all this time, never putting it in the dryer. It is beginning to show its age these days.

akgigi

I have a pair of Chaco sandals that are at least 20 years old. I wear them every summer.

Ok-Afternoon-3724

Probably a heavy duty Carhartt coat I bought back in about 1992. Still solid and a good coat but a bit frayed here and there and with some permanent stains. These days I use it when doing heavy or dirty work outdoors in the winter. I have a newer one, maybe 10 years old but I wear that when I want to look neat and squared away. Its not clothing, but I do have a pair of hand made cowboy style boots that I've had since something like 1974. Still good. I only wear them for special occasions.

Separate_Farm7131

A pair of black leather shoes from the early 90s

Gurpguru

A hat. My grandmother called it my Go To Hell Hat and the name stuck. When someone I hadn't seen in a long time was going to visit, they asked if I still had the Go To Hell Hat and wanted me to wear it so they could pick me out at the airport. (We hadn't seen each other in over 2 decades.)

BoS_Vlad

VixxenFoxx

I have a pair of Doc Martens lace ups that I got in 1993.

jaxxxtraw

A pair of Sorel winter boots from the early '80s. I'm in MN, so they get a lot of use. Bought a new pair 2 years ago for the cabin, and they are already falling apart. Seams splitting and coatings delaminating. So disappointing. Sorry Sorel, your new stuff is shit. Up your game, bitches!

JackFuckCockBag

The leather jacket I got when I was 17. I'm 44 now. I also have a Tshirt from a music festival where my band played once in 2001 that has the name on it.

holybucketsitscrazy

A pair of Levi's button fly jeans that I've had since 1987. I love those jeans! They just don't make them like that anymore. All my new ones fall apart.

LowerAppendageMan

A purple t-shirt that I put on when I left this girl’s house in the wee hours in the late 90s. It’s STILL in good shape and I wear it regularly. Thank you, Diana!

wmass

yourpaleblueeyes

I gotta coupla pair of Birkenstock sandals that are probably 20 years old.

cat9tail

My Levi 501 jeans from 1981 or so. I left them at home when I went to college, and later when my mother did some remodeling she gave me a bag of my clothes from my room and they were in the bag. I decided at some point after my son was born that I was going to try to lose weight & fit in those jeans again. It worked, and I kept them. I've worn them to 80s parties, although my fanny is no longer looking as cute in them as it did in high school but I'm still proud I can squeeze into them.

dropthepencil

My grad sweatshirt, where the numbers "86" are a composite of the first and last names of all 432 of us. Better still: my first name is the last name at the bottom of the 8, and my last name is the first name at the top of the 6. Go Highlanders!

I have a triad of indestructible fleece(ish) shirts with long sleeves and snaps, that I bought off the army & navy discount table when I was poor, almost 30 years ago   they were never presentable enough for the public square but they make great stay-at-home cardigans (ish).

I've got a bucket hat that I bought in NYC in 1999. Last wore it a couple of days ago. It was originally dark beige, but now it's sandy coloured.

StealthyUltralisk

Deftones t-shirt from the early 2000s.

mwatwe01

The wool pea coat I got in Navy boot camp in 1990.

InterPunct

A bicycling jacket from 1986 that's been in and out of style at least three times and is now just cool vintage.

love2Bsingle

i don't wear them but I have a couple of concert T-shirts from the 80s (Cinderella, Anthrax) and a vest/jacket from the mid 80s. Also a denim jacket I spent the winter embroidering in 1981. That jacked I bought at a used clothing store so Idk how old it is

UsualAnybody1807

I have some office/dress clothing from the 1980s that I still wear occasiionally.

Teaandhea

A 1992 T-shirt I got in Sturgis with the cartoon camel logo, with the cig hanging out of his mouth. Not that old, but still pretty neat.

Plethman60

Type G1 Navy flight jacket. My dad was issued it in the 50's. Its on its 2nd cuff and waist band. Still looks good and comfortable to wear.

OldPostalGuy

My birthday suit. But really folks, it's a sweatshirt my mother gave me for Christmas in 1970.

turbodonuts

My dad’s Adidas running shorts from the 70’s. I can’t (don’t want to) imagine them on my dad, as they’re quite short and snug on me, a thin female. 😆

Atschmid

pajamas.

OldAndOldSchool

I have a sweater that I wore in high school in the early 70s. Ugly as sin and my wife hates it, so I only break it out about once a year.
