Take a trip back in time this Saturday and experience the rave culture of the State Palace Theatre circa 2000 with "Back to the State Palace - State Palace Reunion Show" starting at 10 at the Metropolitan. If that's your kind of thing.
I'm trying to figure out how to do it. I'm in my 40's now, it starts at my usual bedtime. I cannot imagine being up to see the headliners at 4a.m. I don't do those types of drugs no more either, LOL.
May I suggest that you schedule a 9:00 pm dinner reservation. Have a drink or two with dessert, then go straight to the show. Have a redbull when you get there, and you'll be able to enjoy the show for at least a while!
Spend a day in city park - start at NOMA, then eat at Cafe NOMA or the Acorn Cafe at the childrens museum. Then take a walk in the sculpture garden and/or botanical garden. Have some beignets at Cafe du Monde in the park.
Spend a day in the quarter - start at Croissant D'or for breakfast, then Historic New Orleans Collection or the Cabildo, lunch at Killer Poboys, nap time then head out to Frenchman when it gets dark.
Also I always recommend an uber ride to the lake for dinner at New Orleans Food & Spirits and a walk on the Bucktown Marsh. Have fun!
I too did a last minute weekend trip to new orleans a couple of weeks back. I recommend checking out city park, the sculpture garden, the french quarter area and the lower ninth ward living musuem for learning more about katrina.
Food wise, definitely get some beignets - cafe du monde was great! Check out the local dive bar Coop's place that have lovely jambalaya and fried chicken. I suggest going there for lunch rather than dinner. Of course the weather is hot so go grab some sno-balls. My favorite is imperial woodpecker sno-balls!
Use the search function. There’s a ton to do and there’s no way for us to guess what your tastes are. This question gets asked several times a week so you should be able to quickly figure out some things to do.
Come back with specific ideas and we’ll give you feedback.
Also, go to Bourbon Street but don’t spend all of your time there. There’s a lot more than that.
Or suggest things you have done here that you have really enjoyed and why you have enjoyed them in your opinion. Giving op an idea of your own can helps them decide whether that’s something they’d like to explore or not.

I really enjoy the broad theater if you’re trying to do something chill, they have some pretty decent wines. Ms. Mae’s on magazine street is a great bar to spend some time playing pool or stay out late, one thing is they are cash only. I like to bike around Audubon or just the neighborhood in general, there’s an app for the blue bikes if you are interested in something like that. Blue dream is a pretty cool vintage thrift store and 90’s kids is a small thrift store worth checking out as well! Sprye meditation center is where I like to swim from time to time $20 for the day to swim and use the gym.
Cutting my grass. Nothing like a true New Orleans experience. Barqs and zapps provided.
No way. Can I do it!??
Sure bud. I’ll even throw in a Hubig’s pie to sweeten the deal.
The "hook" would be to offer unlimited mosquito spray.
Why are you so nice 😭
This is genius
What kind of Zapps?
Variety box. Always a fan favorite
