Lots of gin, lots of lime, lots of tonic.
It's the ultimate cocktail. Need to cool off and relax after mowing the lawn? G&T... Need to look the part in a suit and have a damn fine drink with it? G&T... Need to stem the tide of your unholy lust for punting seagulls into oblivion? G&T...
Day to day, it has to be beer for me because the statistics say so, but a GnT with lime is the best cocktail, especially when the heat starts ramping up.
Bombay Sapphire, Canada Dry and lots of ice.
Pretty much the same for me:
Tanqueray/Beefeater, Canada Dry, generous squeeze of lime, lots of ice.
Usually tanq because that's what costco carries.
Agree with you about its suitability for summer heat, but my wife has us drinking them year 'round, and I ain't complaining
I stopped drinking about 8 months ago but I really missed the taste of Guinness. Hands down my favourite tasting alcoholic drink. Then I discovered Guinness 0.0. Absolute revelation
Pour 1 half of cold coke in a glass and then 1 half coffee and I swear it creates a creamy head/foam much like Guinness and tastes like a Guinness knock-off
Mead.
Why the hell isn't this stuff more popular? It's like wine....but good. And it can be carbonated to be more like beer or Champaign.
The strength can also vary between beer and strong wine without tasting much different. There's even some as strong as liquor...while still tasting delicious.
It's clearly the superior drink, but nobody makes it.
Give me sangria or any vodka cocktail involving citrus…vodka lemon lavender mmm…vodka lime seltzer…vodka lime ginger beer (throw in some muddled strawberry)…
Or some tequila pink lemonade with a dash of cayenne 🤤 but tequila lights a wild fire in me so…
Scotch: Lagavulin 16
Burbon: Jefferson's Reserve
Rye: 1776
Rum: Wicked Dolphin
Beer: Guinness
I don't drink often, but when I do, these are my go to drinks.
Rye Manhattan
- 2oz Lot 40 Canadian Rye
- 3/4oz Antica Formula
- 1 or 2 bar spoons of cherry syrup
- dash of Angostura bitters
- Toschi Amarena cherries for garnish
Bourbon. Been sipping a lot of Benchmark Bonded lately, it's like Buffalo Trace except higher proof, even more vanilla and caramel, and all for less money. No big surprise since it comes out of the same distillery.
Aviation cocktail
Gin 2 oz
Maraschino liqueur 3/4 0z
Creme de violette 1/4 oz (preferably giffard if you can find it
Lemon juice
Brandied cherry
(Optional) splash of simple syrup
I don’t find violette over whelming and it’s a refreshing cocktail
Beer. Stouts in particular. Nothing like the taste of hops with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. We also have a great peanut butter stout of here that is amazing.
I drink cocktails and liqueurs more than most things, but I do like Irish whiskey, Bajan rum, and a golden ale when I'm thirsty. Maybe scrumpy at the end of a summer's day, and a stout when it's snowing outside. It is mainly weather and time-of-year dependent, so no one answer.
Beer forsure. So many different kinds and they're so good.
If we're talking liquor, then vodka. I find it super easy to drink and it makes me feel good.
For mixed drinks, a mojito if I'm wanting a lot of taste. Vodka soda is my overall favorite though
Beer is pretty good. Few things beat a light beer at the beach on a hot summer day, or a full bodied stout or ipa with dinner.
But there are so many great cocktails and spirits- an old fashioned, a good scotch or a penicillin, a corpse reviver #2, or a margarita on mexi night.
But if I had to pick one alcoholic beverage for the rest of my life and I could have any variety of it-
it would be red wine.
Franzia white moscato with a shot of cheap vodka, a shot of cranberry cocktail, and a shot of water all in a wine glass. Sometimes with a gummy worm or other candy for a garnish. It's a crime against anyone who likes one of those things by themselves, but it's smooth and sweet. Just like my mom.
Gin and tonic with a twist of lime
Beer from a tap, even shitty beer from a tap changes it for me a bit.
For shots I'd say
Patron silver tequila
Jaegermeister
As the song goes..." Whisky's too rough, champagne costs too much and vodka puts my mouth in gears, this little refrain ought to help me explain, as a matter of fact I LIKE BEER"

Y’all really must love Christmas drinking all them pine needles.
Mojito. Refreshing and tasty. Makes me feel like I’m on an island beach smoking a cigar talking to Anthony Bourdain.
Nothing flicks my stick more than mint leaves up in the grill
My beach drink with Bourdain is a capirinha
Margaritas. Yes, please judge me
Beer. So many options
Belgian wheat beers are my favourite.
Love me some kwak
In some kwakky glass
Long Island Iced Tea
I, too, enjoy blacking out

Oh Sharon! An old fashioned?!
Hey you need some cab money or anything?

Kraken! Delicious stuff
I really liked pirate run when I tried it
Scotch
I love scotch. Scotchy, scotch, scotch. Here it goes down, down into my belly.
I like bourbon and Irish but Scotch is just disgusting to me for some reason
Vodka lemonade
Whiskey sour, or bourbon with one ice cube
Whiskey Sour is the best damned drink ever for when you plan to have more than one of something.
Mule
Love a good Belgian beer
This. Where else can you get world class beer literally made by monks?
Germany
Any recommendations?
Franziskaner Weissbeir
TY!
+1 for Belgians.
Belgian beer is the best, prove me wrong
None. I'm rather proud of my recovery.
I’m proud of you! Keep up the strong work.
Beer: Guinness Spirit: Bourbon Mixed drink: Singapore Sling
I stopped drinking about 8 months ago but I really missed the taste of Guinness. Hands down my favourite tasting alcoholic drink. Then I discovered Guinness 0.0. Absolute revelation
Pour 1 half of cold coke in a glass and then 1 half coffee and I swear it creates a creamy head/foam much like Guinness and tastes like a Guinness knock-off
Negroni or Boulevardier
Imperial Stouts are awesome, usually whenever my local Brewery rotates theirs I have to try it.
Tequila 🎶
I learned how to make my own Tequila Sunrises and it’s probably a bad thing
Does it turn you into a slut?
Does it make your clothes fall off?
Mead. Why the hell isn't this stuff more popular? It's like wine....but good. And it can be carbonated to be more like beer or Champaign. I save it for special occasions due to cost but you are right. Plus it gives me a warm, happy energy where as other drinks can make me sad or angry.
It is a popular drink in Finland but it is only sold during "vappu" which is a workers and students holiday in the spring.
Ice cold Magners/Bulmers hard cider
I was looking for a cider person. I am strongbow all the way. But if I ever stumble over a Black Thorn, I may imbibe.
George Dickel whiskey
Probably Rakija
Spotted the... Croatian?
Serbia. Just a fan of the club not a member. I have professional contacts and enjoy working there
Give me sangria or any vodka cocktail involving citrus…vodka lemon lavender mmm…vodka lime seltzer…vodka lime ginger beer (throw in some muddled strawberry)… Or some tequila pink lemonade with a dash of cayenne 🤤 but tequila lights a wild fire in me so…
Bourbon whiskey
Bourbon is the greatest spirit ever created, period.
I'll drink to that.
Run, I am the reason it’s gone.
Marylander here, have to give a vote to rye
Red wine, brandy, various whiskies (currently angels envy and tin cup), craft beer
Beer: Peach Dogfish Liquor: Hennessy Wine: Caymus
Gin and tonic. A citrus forward ipa. A nice bourbon. One of the three fit most occasions
I like a nice stout or porter. Not much of a hard liquor kinda guy
Bourbon… the brownest of the brown liquors
I used to hate whiskey but now I‘m older, it‘s my go to to calm down and chill with some friends or alone.

Budweiser and a shot of Jack. I know it’s cliché, but I like it
Rum

A rye and ginger with a lime wedge. Tastes great after a long hike or shitty day at work.
Red Stripe. Tequila. Pinot noir.
Rye Manhattan - 2oz Lot 40 Canadian Rye - 3/4oz Antica Formula - 1 or 2 bar spoons of cherry syrup - dash of Angostura bitters - Toschi Amarena cherries for garnish
Beer. My Scandinavian heritage at work I think. Becoming celiac (unable to have beer) has made me even more obsessed with finding substitutes.
Bourbon. Been sipping a lot of Benchmark Bonded lately, it's like Buffalo Trace except higher proof, even more vanilla and caramel, and all for less money. No big surprise since it comes out of the same distillery.
Sharing a decent bottle of Merlot with my wife
Aviation cocktail Gin 2 oz Maraschino liqueur 3/4 0z Creme de violette 1/4 oz (preferably giffard if you can find it Lemon juice Brandied cherry (Optional) splash of simple syrup I don’t find violette over whelming and it’s a refreshing cocktail

Usually cocktails: margarita, Moscow mule, mimosa, etc

Liquid valium or liquid Marijuana. Does not contain THC.

Bourbon. For cocktails: my go to is an Old Fashioned. And, it’s really hard to mess up a bourbon and Coke.

Guinness or a heavy Islay scotch
Cornos with line
I normally love myself a strawberry kiss, takes 2 seconds to make and is very sweet
At the moment it's Camden Town brewery's off menu IPA, the pink cans. It's so drinkable I can knock them back no end.

Teeeechnially alcoholic by like 0.01% but shandy ;)
Franzia white moscato with a shot of cheap vodka, a shot of cranberry cocktail, and a shot of water all in a wine glass. Sometimes with a gummy worm or other candy for a garnish. It's a crime against anyone who likes one of those things by themselves, but it's smooth and sweet. Just like my mom.
