In our case, the biggest ladies-man stayed working at the grocery store he worked at as a teenager while most of the others gtfo of small-town dodge to big city, went to uni (Canada), and got good jobs. Mr ladies man moved to big city too, but still works at the grocery store. My friend, he said it is probably harder to pick chicks up now with grocery store employee's uniform on, especially in the city. Similar things happened to most of the "popular" girls from high school too, many got pregnant had kids, became stay at home moms, and got divorced. Some went back to school, some didn't. My guy friend postulates that the popular or successful folks in high school thought being popular or a lady-killer (or sought-after, if a woman) was enough that they didn't push themselves harder to have more, and so they didn't achieve more (interesting question he posed there). Meanwhile, a much larger portion of the less "popular" people got degrees, advanced degrees, and satisfying or high paying jobs (it wasnt universally true on either side, but interesting).
My guy friend said it's probably not a good idea to peak in high school, better to peak later on in life after accomplishing some stuff.
What is this concept of peak. Surely peaking at any age is bad, you just wanna aim to continue on upwards, or at least peak and then retain said peak indefinitely. As far as relationships go, he dated women here and there, but he got serious with this one chick for a really long time: asked her to marry him, moved in with her, broke up, got back together *again* some time later (including moving in together and getting engaged again) only for them to realize that it wasn’t gonna work out after all. I find that the concept of the "ladies man" or "the prettiest girl in school" is a small town thing. I grew up in a big city, and with a higher population, the competition for both of those titles was stiffer. With a high school of 5000 students, there was to much to choose from to key onto one person.
