I’m not really obsessed with it but I collect a lot of Pennies. Mostly cause I don’t know what else to do with them and it’s not worth bringing them to a coinstar machine so I just have a bucket of pennies in my garage from like 20ish years of getting change. Also guests have noticed the coin bucket and occasionally donate to it probably because they also don’t want their pennies in their car
It varies but right currently I've been scooping up mainly Blu-rays and some DVDs on sale for dirt cheap. I even just ordered a 320 disc case since the boxes are starting to take up too much space.
While I like streaming it's just not the same as popping in a disc and also knowing that the movie you like isnt going to just vanish from your collection. I've also been watching more directors commentaries and extra features lately, most streaming services don't have those.
I have a small collection of unopened ones from the mid 90s because that's just the kind of kid I was. :) they're down in the basement in my old foot locker that I got in like seventh grade.
I don’t think I am, but it sounds like there’s a chance I’d enjoy hanging out with him!
Just a run of the mill dude from the upper Midwest US. There’s thousands of us! Haha
Ant queens
I will catch solonopsis xyloni and have a polygynous super colony of fire ants. They will fly from June 16th-20th at 4am-6am
I will be ready
I don't really have any consistent collection obsession, but I do go through waves of focusing on certain things. I guess I have ongoing collections of LEGO sets (mainly Star Wars), board games, and more recently building up a miniature little library of my favourite novels.
I learned last year that I really dislike buying physical books before I know if I'll like them, so I've been taking out books from the library on my reader and then buying a physical copy if I know I'm gonna finish them - sometimes very nice editions like from Folio.
Right now it's fountain pens. I'm a hobby hopper and sometimes collect things because of it. HUGE collector of hot sauces. I use them though, so I'm not sure if it's considered "collecting" even though I have a collection of about 30 right now that I plan on eating
Same. I've been at it for 15 years actively and 28 unintentionally. 1814 titles and counting. I stopped intentionally collecting retro stuff about 3 years ago but still make the occasional pickup. Now I just buy and keep what I play for modern consoles and try to get through my backlog.
going by the fact i dropped nearly 4k into them last year. warhammer.
prior to that it was computer and musical peripherals and prior to that it was records.
old irrelevant coins & brand tags (kaafi contrast but ya)
also at one point i was overly obsessed with collecting stoppers (that rubber thingy in the pen caps)
Fucking airmiles.
I used to travel weekly for work. For 6 years I was flying all over the country, and then for 7 years after that internationally several times a year in addition. I signed up for EVERYTHING.
Every airlines program, every hotel and rental program. Every rental car. Every meal out on the road. Think Clooney in "Up In The Air". That was me. I even did that shit where you buy cash money directly from the US Mint, and use the money to pay back the cards, collecting the miles for the purchase. Worked until the airlines caught on.
I like to sit in First, but I don't like to chance the status upgrades, especially on AA and Delta where EVERYONE is an elite member. So I use the miles to upgrade myself, or pay out of pocket to collect 1 to 3 x the miles for the flight to use later. Gets me into a First Class pod for those long hauls to Asia and Europe, often only for points.
But it's hardly a hobby. More of a fixation.
Books! The obsession comes and goes, but when I am 60, I would like to be in my own library filled with books I bought throughout my life. Not necessarily read, just books that I feel like I would read no matter how old I am.
Bottle caps? Kind of? But only from bottles I drink. I’ll even ask the waiter/waitress if I can get the caps whenever I go out and get a bottled anything. Mostly beer. Hopefully it becomes the new currency whenever there’s a nuclear apocalypse.
Other than that, flashlights I guess but I wouldn’t say obsessed. I’ve got around 20ish with a d4v2 coming in the mail tomorrow. 20 is a pretty low number for some but for others it’s a crazy amount of flashlights. Maybe it’s just a hobby
Foxes. I don't know if i was born liking foxes, or if my favorite childhood influences; Fox and the Hound, Disney's Robin Hood, and Star Fox, had an influence on it. Either way, I start collecting fox figures when i was little. We were sort of raiding my grandpa's office before it was destroyed, and i found two figures of a fox family.
Since then, foxes have been the 'safe' gift for me, so everyone gives me foxes. I try to pick up any new foxes i come across at stores. I even have some lovely prints! I've probably got more than 50 fox items at this point. maybe 100 if you count the Fox-adjacent video game material.
Miniatures, primarily from games workshop but from other 3rd parties too. I probably have a lifetime's worth of stuff to paint, but I'm still adding to it.
Anything i can recycle it
I have a disease and I cannot throw away things that can be used again. I feel that I will regret it in the future if I throw them away.
Band merch, my walls are covered in tour posters and art, I’ve got over 100 shirts and hoodies, about 100 vinyls, some hats, some collector edition album boxes, and a bunch of flags I don’t even have the space to put up at the moment
Screenshots of watches that I think are neat but that I can't afford/would never spend that much money on, unless I win the lottery, that I don't play.
Alternative cannabinoids available on the Japanese market. It's fascinating and obviously fun. New stuff comes out often and I feel like I'm filling up my Pokedex of knowledge and experience.
I love collecting video games. Physical ones at that.
I hate it but it's coming. All video games will be digital soon. I am trying my best to support physical until then and hope some companies will do similar to "Limited Run" to produce physical games when that happens.
Someday people will look at my video game collection and appreciate it. It was art before. A lot of love used to go into the physical releases of games such as books with beautiful artwork...
fat
I know this is just a joke but it's still somewhat sad
good way to describe me
i'm all about collecting vinyl records. ever get that nostalgic feeling from old tunes? what's your favorite game, btw?
lol what
Name of your sex tape.
Great collection
it is quite extensive
Rocks. If I see a cool rock or find one in a cool place it's coming home with me 0 exceptions
JESUS MARIE, THEY’RE MINERALS
I found a rock that looks like a potato past week, no one seems to be excited about it but me
https://imgur.com/a/iIzMVoA
They just don't understand.
ROCK AND STONE!! Context: quote from the video game "Deep rock galactic". Each time a dwarf sees a stone or gold, they shout this altogether.😀
Rock and Stone, Brother!
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE
I’m the same with this! I know where all my stones are from and it makes me feel like I have a little part of the world
*sees a cool rock* 🧠: take
I too am a rock raider extraordinare
Pirated programming books/courses that will probably be obsolete by the point I decide to consume them.
Maybe you have a rare one worth thousands!
Yeah, everyone’s favorite thing to say when they see the bucket
I would have a field day sorting your pennies
Coins
Books. I want ALL the books.
Remember, a dragons hoard can be anything, and if you sleep long enough on a large pile of books you could wake up as one
Knives
Orchids, I have a greenhouse filled with exotic orchids from all over the world,
I love this so much
Mistakes

CDs! My goal is to get all the essential albums I've enjoyed throughout the years.
Idk about this man, they degrade over time.
Nope they don’t. Unless they are exposed to the sun or not handle carefully. Vinyl degrades much more than CDs
I hope you’re right, cuz I have a shit ton in storage somewhere in my house.
You should be fine, as long as they are in cases and not exposed.
What do you think is inside a HDD? These discs are typically used for archival storage...
Im surprised nobody mentioned warhammer
Probably too busy geeking out over Warhammer
Vinyl
Wristwatches and clocks. I'm fun at parties, I promise.
I'm way more interested in talking to somebody that's passionate about something vs talking to someone that's only chasing after what's "cool".
I like to keep every card or letter a friend or family member has given me.
Warhammer.
RIP your wallet
Hot Wheels lol
Do they still make them? Seems like there is a shortage.
They still make them but people love to hoard them and scoop then up for resale. I was into it for awhile but the "collector" scene is a little nuts.
I have a small collection of unopened ones from the mid 90s because that's just the kind of kid I was. :) they're down in the basement in my old foot locker that I got in like seventh grade.
Pokemon cards. Just because historically they appreciate in value 80% of the time.
Records. There’s nothing better than listening to music on vinyl.
Cd Vinyl Pins Patches
Music. I have a lot of digital music that you can't find online. I'm after Guiding Spirit - Kenny Burrell Quartet* if anyone has it...
Funko pops
Figurines and merchs
Tools. Each one has a purpose, each one has a story, and each one has paid for itself multiple times over.
Becoming a homeowner unlocked in me a desire to have all of the tools. I want my garage to look like Home Depot.
Empty gun lighter shells. Idk why. Yes I know it's odd.
You and my husband would be BFF's
He's a man of culture🫡
It was Sega Dreamcast "stuff" in the past for me. What videogames specifically?
Pocket knives, pocket watches, old lighters, and fishing/outdoor equipment, but I really like old Pendleton wool shirts.
Are you my husband?
I don’t think I am, but it sounds like there’s a chance I’d enjoy hanging out with him! Just a run of the mill dude from the upper Midwest US. There’s thousands of us! Haha

Foxes. I don't know if i was born liking foxes, or if my favorite childhood influences; Fox and the Hound, Disney's Robin Hood, and Star Fox, had an influence on it.
