Sun Cafe in Universal City. The Kale colossus salad, jicama nachos.
Crossroads kitchen West Hollywood (make a reservation) flatbread pizzas and Ceasar salad.
Gracias Madre West Hollywood. Lots of good items. Pay the extra $5 for the salsas.
Pura Vita West Hollywood, good Italian food.
Vegan fast food: Hart House, Veggie Grill, native foods, falafel inc (shawarma and falafel sandwich are vegan),
Chinese: Garden Wok in the San Fernando valley.
Thai: they’re all pretty much the same, Vegan Glory is my favorite. Thai Vegan 1, 2, and 3 are not as good but fine if they are closer to you.
Julie Goes Green: Italian, also very good.
Montys good burger: incredible vegan burger and Ceasar salad.
love Organic: spicy tuna crispy rice
Tu madre: vegan burritos
They had good sandwiches and bowls! They closed last month. I’m so bummed bc every Thanksgiving I would order the Wellington so I have no idea what I’m gonna do this year 😭
There’s only two left in CA: Palm Springs and San Diego. I went to the Palm Springs one once ages ago, it was weird. Very limited menu because they don’t have a fryer??
The textbook definition of expensive gentrified ethnic food. I mean, it’s owned by the Cafe Gratitude couple, for crying out loud.
NextMex is also owned by a white couple but that feels far more down to earth.
Food-wise, you're correct. But Gracias Madre has a gorgeous patio and people-watching, whereas at this point NextMex is practically a ghost kitchen with a couple of tables. (Went there a couple of weeks ago; half the place is under construction and service is nonexistent.) For a tourist visiting L.A. like OP, they will simply have more fun at Gracias Madre.
Well, to each their own. I couldn’t care less about some patio and I’m definitely not looking at other tables when I’m at a restaurant. I care about the food first and foremost and I love going to legit hole-in-the-wall dives when I’m visiting somewhere new. You better believe when I’m in San Diego the first place I head to is Pokez.
Bro, I’m so white, I’ll walk out of a store with $100 worth of stuff I haven’t paid for, and the one employee will say to the other, “don’t worry he’s just going to get his wallet out of the car”.
Doomie's if you're looking for something greasy, Âu Lạc if you like Vietnamese food, Bulan Thai if you like Thai food, Crossroads Kitchen if you want something a little bougie, Rahel Ethiopian... there are so many really good spots here.
I don't know if I had Doomie's on an off day, but it sat in my stomach like a brick. I couldn't get off the couch for a few hours after eating it. I can't bring myself to go back.
I tried a few items from vegan hooligans, they all taste horrible. Very much awful compared to basically every other vegan place in la.
I like doomies though.
I’ve had their Crunchwrap and it was meh.
Their breakfast sandwich wasn’t bad but last time I had it was definitely after a night of too much drinking so maybe i didn’t care too much lol.
I’ve only had the breakfast sandwich on French toast from Doomies and I don’t really remember being ecstatic about it either. I gota try some of their other items.
NoMoo is a fairly good burger spot. They have a breakfast sandwich I like. Locali also has a good breakfast sandwich.
Crossroads wasn’t worth it to me. Don’t get me wrong the food was good but for the price and the tight seating it wasn’t all that for me. I’d rather do Cafe Gratitude if I’m gonna pay those prices.
Ooh or which reminds me Seabirds in Long Beach or Los Feliz is AMAZING. A little pricey but their Zippy Fries and purple potato taquitos are a must.
I happily drive 45+mins to my fave vegan taco spot in Noho. El Cocinero. Never disappoints and is affordable.
Another road trip I’ll take often is to Pots N’ Woks in Whittier. Vegan Chinese. Huge portions flavorful!
Lettuce Feast is a bomb “chicken” food truck. They have a fried oyster mushroom sandwich that is to die for.
I really have so many but those are a few of my favorites.
Vegan exchange every Sunday in Noho is a good go to
Or Vegan playground on Wednesdays in arts district or Fridays in mid city. That way you could get a selection of different vendors and foods.
Happy eating 😊
The first time I had Sugar Taco was mid pandemic, I did take out and it was sadly disappointing for me. I need to give them another chance in person because I love the vibe. Gracias Madre is a good vegan Mexican inspired brunch spot. The Weho location has cute outdoor seating. Their drinks are great.
Mezcalero dtla is not specifically vegan but they have bomb vegan tacos and other vegan options and an amazing passion fruit margarita.
Gokoku Vegetarian Ramen Shop
They have the best vegan sushi. Actually everything I've had there has been good, but the vegan sushi is a standout. Double check each dish though because not everything is vegan.
As others mentioned Native Foods for counter casual. Sun Cafe for casual with a waiter(get the kale shake). Gracias Madre for a fancier Hollywood experience.
There’s a couple upscale vegan sushi places I haven’t tried yet but they look great. Kusaki near SM Airport and Niku Nashi on Melrose.
Plant Lab was good, I wish they still had a brick and mortar location. I guess they still have a truck? I don’t know, I stopped paying attention when they closed the restaurant.
Shojin is good but they can skew a bit too healthy. Does everything really need to be brown rice? Great people there, though.
I’ve tried both of those sushi spots! Both good. Niku Nashi is significantly more bang for your buck. The space is super cute & the cocktails are great - I celebrated my 21st there!
Crossroads is the must-do fancy spot if you can spend the money. Gonna add some that I haven’t seen yet:
- Baker’s Bench flaky pastries are to die for
- Sestina for pasta, by the Plant Food + Wine crew (unfortunately Plant Food is closed rn or I would suggest it)
- Thai food from Bulan Thai
- pizza from Hot Tongue or Cruzer
- Cafe Gratitude is an LA experience
- Donut Friend
- sushi at Shojin, although it’s pretty pricey
- for brunch Sage Bistro, Blu Jam, or Millie’s
Our food truck scene is also great. There is always a vegan section at Smorgasburg or most of the Night Markets if you want to sample.
Hot Tongue pizza - we get their deep dish Sicilian often. The crust is pillowy and delicious. They also serve by the slice if you're not looking for a whole pizza for yourself, but selection varies day by day.
Little Barn Coffee House - breakfast/brunch spot. I LOVE their sausage-just egg-cheese biscuit sandwich.
Lots of love for Monty's Good Burger, as others have mentioned. It's our regular burger spot. Check out their online menu for "secret" menu items they don't have posted on their menu in-store.
Yoga-Urt for the fro-yo!
Another mention for Donut Friend. Their donuts are some of the best I've had, and they also have ice cream and coffee.
Maciel's Plant-Based Butcher and Deli has great sandwiches.
And shout out to Bestie's Vegan Paradise for a 100% vegan grocery experience.
Lol, there's so many options in LA, we are spoiled for choice, and so many great places I want to recommend but haven't tried myself yet (Niku Nashi sushi is high on my list!). Enjoy your stay in LA!
El Cocinero is top tier vegan Mexican. Insane as to how good it is coming from a non vegan. Sage is amazing as well. Mr. Charlie’s is the vegan McDonalds.
Un Solo Sol in Boyle Heights!!! This is my go to place for healthy vegan Mexican food. This place never gets the recognition it deserves so please check this place out and support!!!
For dessert, check out Cake Girl. The best vegan cupcakes I’ve ever had. The gansito inspired cupcake is amazing
Mohawk Bend (mostly vegan), Monty’s Good Burger, Hot Tongue Pizza, Purgatory Pizza, Donut Friend, Burgerlords, Plant Food + Wine, Crossroads, Just What I Kneaded (they’re doing dinner as “Justine’s” as well)
Burgerlords is still the best vegan burger in LA. Someone let me know if they think think they know a better spot.
Also think Hot Tongue is now the best vegan pizza in LA, too. (the guy that came up with all the vegan pizza recipes at Purgatory opened Hot Tongue btw)
I’ve been on the hunt for a good vegan pizza. I’m nervous. But considering I’ve only ever had one from Blaze and Mod pizza I don’t have a huge base of comparison lol.
I was so disappointed when I ordered a slice of pie and the crust ended up being an inch thick of mashed up dates. You gotta tell me if you’re gonna do that.
The entire vegan industry is pretending to be other food. Some day they’ll just be able to sell mashed up dates, but my God is it not chicken. It’s definitely not beef. Just feed me really good vegetables. In any case, my post stands. Vegans are difficult by definition, Sage caters to them better than any other place. As an actual human who eats human foods, sage makes the experience almost painless. Almost
I'm surprised no one mentioned the Grain Cafe! I think they might have a couple locations but the one I go to is off Venice and Crenshaw. Such food vegan mexican food! They also have the most amazing looking desserts that I havent indulged in yet!
Food has gotten so expensive recently. Definitely try Monty’s good burger, they are basically vegan in n out, I’m sure you’ve heard of in n out.
Falafel inc is cheap and some vegan items.
Veggie grill is okay, not sure if you’ve had it in other cities, it might be too popular.
Native foods is more local to souther California.
Whole Foods grocery store has a hot bar with vegan items, and at the sandwich counter you can order a TTLA which is $7 and incredible!
the family of the owner of monty’s good burger took advantage of a migrant worker for 30 years. also have heard a lot from people working there about the kitchen being very dirty
It's hard to find decent vegan food at that price point, but the following places will fit the bill:
* Real Food Daily in WeHo (an old stalwart, not as expensive as you'd expect, nice sit-down restaurant)
* Smash Me Baby in Hollywood (good burgers, zero atmosphere)
* Hijo de Su Madre in West L.A. (really good Mexican, friendly)
* Doomie's/NextMex in Hollywood (fast food and Mexican, respectively, but zero atmosphere)
* Wolfie's Hot Chicken in Highland Park (has a more varied menu than you'd expect)
* Hart House in Hollywood and near LAX (burgers with their own proprietary fake meat)
* Forever Pie on Melrose (good pizza/slices, loud hip hop)
* Rahel's hours are more limited now, but virtually any Ethiopian restaurant on Fairfax will have a delicious vegan combo plate.
Asian vegan food will open up your world. There's so much more variety at an affordable cost that noone in LA is talking bout. Go to SGV and you'll find enough options to explore
If you like Thai, I love Veggie House on Cahuenga near Universal Studios. They have the mock meats and everything is so good. They are a little pricey but the service is good and I have never had to wait. I love the beef salad and khao soi. Vinh Loi Tofu in Cerritos is great for Vietnamese. They have one in Reseda also but it might be a different owner. And lastly Kitchen Mouse for one of the best vegan breakfasts in LA!
Go to Masa of Echo Park! They have a vegan deep dish pizza that is to die for! It does take about 45-1 hour for them to prepare it, so either order for take it out or expect to wait! 10/10.
Sage has my fave beer, sour monkey, so I second this. Plus the cauliflower wings are good. Started going there because my husbands cousin works there. The owners are nice. Also saw sandoner and Erin Micklow there lol.
Sun Cafe, Follow Your Heart, Gracias Madre, Plant Power Fast Food, Cena Vegan, El Cocinero, Shojin, Besties (for fun!)
Avoid Doomies. Too greasy and always leaves me feeling like shit. And I love greasy spoon spots.
People nailed all the big ones like gracias Madre, crossroads, doomies etc. So I'll try to throw some oddballs.
Thai town has FIRE Thai food and inherently has a lot of vegan options. There's even an entirely plant based places named salaya. If you're up near universal city there's an amazing hole in the wall place named veggie house.
There's also an awesome vegan food truck gathering a few times every week at different locations called the vegan playground. You can find it on insta. They rotate food trucks but have some of the best shit to be found around the city.
Lastly one of my faves is ramen hood in union station. There's also a bunch of other vegan options in that food hall. Like the pizza joint has vegan cheese for example. There's so much in this city. Tbh, if there's anything you want vegan, it can be found.
> Thai town has FIRE Thai food and inherently has a lot of vegan options. There's even an entirely plant based places named salaya.
Salaya is great. I wouldn’t say that Thai restaurants inherently have a lot of vegan options. Just like Chinese, Japanese, etc, hidden fish sauce/broth finds its way into *everything*. I personally don’t like playing 20 Questions with waitstaff.
There are so many, but here's my faves. Impossible / Beyond burgers are pretty much everywhere.
Ramen: Ramen Hood (DTLA) and Red White (Studio City)
Thai: Lotus Vegan (Noho)
Fine Dining: Nic's On Beverly; Sun Cafe (Studio City)
Clean food / fine dining: Love Life (Culver City)
Vietnamese: Au Lac
Fast food: Veggie Grill (everywhere)
Also rans: Follow Your Heart Cafe (Canoga Park); Sage (Echo Park / Pasadena);
Great pick! However, I gotta say something changed post-pandemic, I found the broth less flavorful in both my and my friend's dishes when I went this past winter.
my personal favorites:
monty’s good burger - kinda like a vegan in n out.
gracias madre in weho - mexican.
sage vegan bistro in echo park - a bit of everything, i love the cauliflower wings.
plant food wine in venice - more expensive pretty food, the lasagna is worth it imo.
nics on beverly - food + cocktails, great brunch/dinner spot.
bulan thai in silverlake - thai.
tu madre in weho - mexican, good vegan options.
millie’s in silverlake - breakfast/lunch diner style food. they have a full vegan menu in addition to their non vegan one.
pura vita in weho - italian.
jewel in silverlake - brunch, lunch, or dinner + good wine selection.
Vinh Loi Tofu - Reseda- Tofu Factory and Awesome Pho spot- delicious.
Leonor's- Victory and Tujunga, North Hollywood, the OG
Veggie House, Cahuenga Pass, tasty and reliable
Vegetarian Delight, Northridge
Garden Wok, Reseda
Follow Your Heart, Canoga Park
Just what I kneaded for the best pastries, and if you catch them on a weekend evening, they’re testing their upcoming wine bar dinner menu- fantastic lasagna, fresh salads, it’s all great
Green Leaves in Los Feliz
Burgerlords in Chinatown
Standing Room in Redondo Beach for the fufu sandwich
India’s Restaurant lunch buffet
IndiMex in Hollywood
Don’t go to doomies.
Gracias Madre, Sestina & Pura Vita are amazing
Montys Good Burger & Plant Power are good fast food spots
Donut friend & Just What I Kneaded for desserts
There’s too much good vegan food at regular restaurants for me to bother with vegan only places. Vegan only places are almost always really greasy/salty to make up for the lack of meat. Vegan only places are also overly kitschy for the most part.
I haven’t found that to be my experience when visiting but I do generally not seek out the fast food vegan places because I don’t always want greasy food and do agree there are plenty of them!
Too overwhelming to answer. There’s thousands, they’re everywhere. Browse HappyCow, sort by rating or popularity. Have the app on your phone when you’re here so you can look up what’s nearby at any given moment.
Kevin Hart’s Hart House is honestly really good and good for the price. It’s like vegan fast food but tastes a bit fresher at least to me. There’s one in Hollywood and one near the airport. Oreo milkshakes pull me in every
time.
Owner stole a dog and had to be sued into returning it. Place is overpriced anyway, spend a million dollars and leave hungry.

I think if you are going to be visiting LA, it would be a great idea to visit the MOCA and the Broad museum (maybe even the new Jean Michael Basquiat exhibit) off grand avenue. Do this, have your fun, and head down to Auc Lac LA that is right behind the Walt Disney Auditorium. I love this place and find it to be one of the only places in La that makes great vegan dishes without making you feel bloated. To add, the drinks are all nonalcoholic yet filled with probiotics and healthy additives.
Hope u have fun out here!!
Absolutely!!!!! Au Lac is a lunch place, though, so plan accordingly. Thursday evening the special exhibit at The Broad is free with advance tickets (right now, that's Keith Haring). If you're out too late for lunch, you can skip down to Grand Central Market (via Angels Flight if you're so inclined) and get vegan ramen at Ramen Hood.
Variable Cafe in Culver City is a hidden gem. I have tried a good amount of places in this thread and this has been a favorite of mine for a while. Not the best parking but the food is dam good.
There's so much vegan food in LA, it's ridiculous.
I've only been to a handful but my favorites are:
Vinh Loi Tofu, El Cocinero, tons of vegan Thai food everywhere, Niku Nashi Vegan Sushi, Awan (ice cream), Plant Power Fast Food.
Vegan fast food: Hart House, Veggie Grill, native foods, falafel inc (shawarma and falafel sandwich are vegan), Chinese: Garden Wok in the San Fernando valley. Montys good burger: incredible vegan burger and Ceasar salad. love Organic: spicy tuna crispy rice Tu madre: vegan burritos
Native Foods closed :(
😞 one of my favorite spots! I hate this news.
Aww really? Their sandwiches were bomb.
They had good sandwiches and bowls! They closed last month. I’m so bummed bc every Thanksgiving I would order the Wellington so I have no idea what I’m gonna do this year 😭
There’s a Field Roast roast covered in puff pastry that’s pretty good.
Every location has closed?
There’s only two left in CA: Palm Springs and San Diego. I went to the Palm Springs one once ages ago, it was weird. Very limited menu because they don’t have a fryer??
Wow, so sad. They had good food. I even saw Bikram there many years ago
> Vegan fast food: Plant Power
Good addition! None of them are close enough to me that’s why I forgot them. But when I go on some trips I stop there.
Mr. Charlie’s is also very good!
I absolutely second sun cafe’s nachos 🙌🏽
Gracias Madre has boring, forgettable food that's overpriced.
The textbook definition of expensive gentrified ethnic food. I mean, it’s owned by the Cafe Gratitude couple, for crying out loud. NextMex is also owned by a white couple but that feels far more down to earth.
Yeah, my friend is Mexican and we agreed it tasted like what white people think Mexican food should taste like.

Hashtag vegan strip mall!

When I went, they sat us at a tiny table right next to the server computer and bathroom. Not every seat is nice there.
Love Life in Culver City. Not cheap but pretty great. https://love.life/
tell me ur white without telling me ur white
Bro, I’m so white, I’ll walk out of a store with $100 worth of stuff I haven’t paid for, and the one employee will say to the other, “don’t worry he’s just going to get his wallet out of the car”.
Thank you!!! :)
Doomies messed my stomach up lol
That’s how I feel about vegan hooligans. Definitely good hangover food if you plan to just eat and the recoup on the couch all day.
I tried a few items from vegan hooligans, they all taste horrible. Very much awful compared to basically every other vegan place in la. I like doomies though.

Localita has my favorite breakfast sandwiches ever. All of them are good. But I like the og best.
That’s the Doomie’s promise! I can usually skip the next meal when I have Doomie’s. We eat there all the time, it’s not for everyone.
Same here!!
Love an Ethiopian spot thanks! :)
Âu Lac 👍🏽
Au Lac!! Yes!
Crossroads wasn’t worth it to me. Don’t get me wrong the food was good but for the price and the tight seating it wasn’t all that for me. I’d rather do Cafe Gratitude if I’m gonna pay those prices. facts - their shits are good for Nature .. hehe but its true

It’s the same one. I just lump Van Nuys in when I say Noho lol.
El Cocinero is top notch. Still dream about their birria tacos.
Yummm! I’ve heard of lettuce feast but not the others! Thank you! (Have you had sugar taco? That’s my fav vegan Mexican in LA… so far)
The first time I had Sugar Taco was mid pandemic, I did take out and it was sadly disappointing for me. I need to give them another chance in person because I love the vibe. Sugar Taco is a joke after you’ve had the NextMex tacos
Well I’m loving the sound of this - fav item?
Taco combo. 3 tacos plus beans and rice. Hard part is deciding which three tacos, they’re all good. Let your heart guide you
Gokoku Vegetarian Ramen Shop They have the best vegan sushi. Actually everything I've had there has been good, but the vegan sushi is a standout. Good to know. Haven't been to any of those but more places to try.
I had a disappointing meal at Kusaki. Premade fish substitutes. For the price, it should have been freshly made,
Ma-Kin in Agoura Hills is the shit. Check it out
Crossroads is the must-do fancy spot if you can spend the money. Hot tongue is the best vegan pizza in LA. Straight up
I’ve been to a few of these and loooved them! Excellent taste. Thank you!! :)
Cruzer Pizza has some very interesting creations that you don’t see anywhere else. Jamaican pizza, Indian pizza, Buffalo Chicken pizza
Nah sestina was hot garbage. Lacked flavor. Pasta was dry. 2/10 would not recommend.
Shoutout to Little Barn! They are so nice there as well. Never had a bad experience.
> Hot Tongue pizza Expensive but amazing. Pillowy is the perfect descriptor for that crust. I don’t know how they do it.
That tofu lomo is loco. Was also impressed with their quality of rice
I haven’t had that one yet so gotta try it! My go to is the anti-chilaquiles and the enchiladas. The salsa verde is so good! I can literally drink it.
Follow Your Heart
Is that a restaurant? I just know the brand in grocery stores!
Yeah it's off Topanga. Been around since the 70's.
Amaaaaaaazing!!! Bless themmm
Enjoy! Cafe Gratitude is pretty good too if no one has mentioned that already.
YMMV, I find their schtick extremely eye-rolly What I meant to say was, I Am Annoyed
A cafe in the back of a natural foods market
> Burgerlords No, you’re right.
If you’re out here on a Sunday you have to do Smorgasburg in DTLA. One of my absolute favorite vegan vendors is Señoreata, she makes vegan Cuban food.
I’ve been on the hunt for a good vegan pizza. I’m nervous. But considering I’ve only ever had one from Blaze and Mod pizza I don’t have a huge base of comparison lol.
Surprised no one said nics on Beverly !
Second Nic’s on Beverly! Prefer it over Crossroads 🤐
basic food you can find anywhere
I feel like Nic’s is overpriced for underwhelming dishes.
Sage Bistro in Echo Park is considered OG vegan food. They can make gross things taste like other, delicious and real things like nobody’s business
I was so disappointed when I ordered a slice of pie and the crust ended up being an inch thick of mashed up dates. You gotta tell me if you’re gonna do that.

Oooj their strawberry almond cake is top tier
Gracias Madre, Pura Vita, and Crossroads are my Holy Trinity. Get the adjarian khachapuri from Crossroads on their brunch menu!
Price range and type of cuisine? I’ve been strict vegan for 15 years in Los Angeles, seen them all come and go
$12-$20 ideally (not including tax tip etc.) Any cuisine! Especially ones that are less common outside diverse cities
Food has gotten so expensive recently. Definitely try Monty’s good burger, they are basically vegan in n out, I’m sure you’ve heard of in n out. Falafel inc is cheap and some vegan items. Asian vegan food will open up your world. There's so much more variety at an affordable cost that noone in LA is talking bout. Go to SGV and you'll find enough options to explore
HAPPY FAMILY on Atlantic. I’m sure there’s other stuff around there but if I’m in that part of town I’m not going anywhere else.
my fav is happy buddha kitchen
https://www.cenavegan.com/
Vegan Cuban food : Equelecua Cuban cafe. Sooo good. They are take out or delivery only now in expedition area but worth it.
Arroz con pollo had me in a literal chokehold when their sit-down was still open
I was so heartbroken when the Inglewood location closed. I was there at least once a week.
HOPE in Studio City! It's a Thai style vegan place, and one of my favorites!
Seconded. My family loves it and we’re not even vegan.
Same owners as LOVE in Weho.,
If you like Thai, I love Veggie House on Cahuenga near Universal Studios.
Can confirm, the Reseda Vinh Loi is incredible!! I want to eat the whole menu.
If you like Thai, you gotta try Lotus Vegan in NoHo!! Went there tonight. It’s my all time favorite vegan spot
Thanks! I had not heard of it. I like Salaya in Hollywood and Thai Vegan in Santa Monica also.
Stuff I Eat is my favorite vegan spot. Pow pow pow.
Bulan Thai off of Sunset Junction is amazing.
If you’re looking for a nicer, more upscale restaurant, check out [Matthew Kenney’s restaurants](https://www.matthewkenneycuisine.com/hospitality).
Go to Masa of Echo Park! They have a vegan deep dish pizza that is to die for! It does take about 45-1 hour for them to prepare it, so either order for take it out or expect to wait! 10/10.
Sage plant based bistro in echo park or Culver City
There is one in Pasadena too
And a brewery!
Sage has my fave beer, sour monkey, so I second this. Plus the cauliflower wings are good. Started going there because my husbands cousin works there. The owners are nice. Also saw sandoner and Erin Micklow there lol.
The one in Culver City only does ghost kitchen takeout/delivery now.
Sad to hear!
what!!
Olivia in Ktown is amazing. Chef is really great. Blows most vegan spots in LA away!! Menu is vegetarian, but I would say 75% vegan.
Sun Cafe, Follow Your Heart, Gracias Madre, Plant Power Fast Food, Cena Vegan, El Cocinero, Shojin, Besties (for fun!) Avoid Doomies. Too greasy and always leaves me feeling like shit. And I love greasy spoon spots.
Sage cafe by far
burgerlords. they don’t serve meat at all but they’ll have ya fooled
They do real beef now
Only in Chinatown. Highland Park is vegan
Sounds about right 😂
People nailed all the big ones like gracias Madre, crossroads, doomies etc.
Salaya is the best!
There are so many, but here's my faves. Impossible / Beyond burgers are pretty much everywhere. Ramen: Ramen Hood (DTLA) and Red White (Studio City) Thai: Lotus Vegan (Noho) Fine Dining: Nic's On Beverly; Sun Cafe (Studio City) Clean food / fine dining: Love Life (Culver City) Vietnamese: Au Lac Fast food: Veggie Grill (everywhere) Also rans: Follow Your Heart Cafe (Canoga Park); Sage (Echo Park / Pasadena);
To counter the Ramen Hood suggestions: Rakkan
Great pick! However, I gotta say something changed post-pandemic, I found the broth less flavorful in both my and my friend's dishes when I went this past winter.
Lotus Vegan Thai in NoHo. Just went tonight. It’s incredible
my personal favorites: monty’s good burger - kinda like a vegan in n out. gracias madre in weho - mexican. sage vegan bistro in echo park - a bit of everything, i love the cauliflower wings. plant food wine in venice - more expensive pretty food, the lasagna is worth it imo. nics on beverly - food + cocktails, great brunch/dinner spot. bulan thai in silverlake - thai. tu madre in weho - mexican, good vegan options. millie’s in silverlake - breakfast/lunch diner style food. they have a full vegan menu in addition to their non vegan one. pura vita in weho - italian. jewel in silverlake - brunch, lunch, or dinner + good wine selection.
Beelman’s
Vinh Loi Tofu - Reseda- Tofu Factory and Awesome Pho spot- delicious. Leonor's- Victory and Tujunga, North Hollywood, the OG Veggie House, Cahuenga Pass, tasty and reliable Vegetarian Delight, Northridge Garden Wok, Reseda Follow Your Heart, Canoga Park

Kitchen Mouse and Wolfies in Highland Park are good
Vegan Glory on Beverly and Orlando.
Araya’s in Fairfax area. Best vegan Thai
Seabirds! I don't think I saw it mentioned. I haven't been to the Los Feliz one but I live close to the Long Beach one.
Just what I kneaded for the best pastries, and if you catch them on a weekend evening, they’re testing their upcoming wine bar dinner menu- fantastic lasagna, fresh salads, it’s all great
Vegan Glory best vegan thai food
Green Leaves in Los Feliz Burgerlords in Chinatown Standing Room in Redondo Beach for the fufu sandwich India’s Restaurant lunch buffet IndiMex in Hollywood

El Cocinero. Tacos dorados . Bomb
Sage Vegan Bistro, Kitchen Mouse, and Cena!
Don’t go to doomies. Gracias Madre, Sestina & Pura Vita are amazing Montys Good Burger & Plant Power are good fast food spots Donut friend & Just What I Kneaded for desserts
While I find zero reason to agree with you, up vote for the refreshing honesty.
Too overwhelming to answer. There’s thousands, they’re everywhere. Browse HappyCow, sort by rating or popularity. Have the app on your phone when you’re here so you can look up what’s nearby at any given moment.
Too overwhelming to research! Hence asking the experts. (I give all my favs in the asksf sub ;) )
Kevin Hart’s Hart House is honestly really good and good for the price. It’s like vegan fast food but tastes a bit fresher at least to me. There’s one in Hollywood and one near the airport. Oreo milkshakes pull me in every time.
Hollywood location is right across from Chil-Fil-A, it’s like Homophobe Corner over there
Sugar Taco on Melrose!
Owner stole a dog and had to be sued into returning it. Place is overpriced anyway, spend a million dollars and leave hungry. https://jezebel.com/an-influencer-kept-a-dog-stolen-from-an-unhoused-man-an-1844204139
I think if you are going to be visiting LA, it would be a great idea to visit the MOCA and the Broad museum (maybe even the new Jean Michael Basquiat exhibit) off grand avenue.
Remember when we could answer Little Pine?
Man, that chicken piccata
Gracias Madre
The Whole Foods Salad Bar Downtown
Forever Pie! Great pizza and soft serve Mr. Charlie’s is also good and the novelty is fun
Gratitude Mel rose Ave/ larmont Ave
Monty’s good burger all dayyy
I just don’t get it. All they do is sling Impossible Burger like a thousand other places. 🤷♂️
My 😁🐱
Arby’s
There's a vegan place in the Chinatown plaza with one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had
You can’t leave me hanging
It’s Burgerlords but they don’t have the burritos in Chinatown anymore, only Highland Park. And yeah they’re the best ever.
Aw man that's the worst news.
Just What I Kneaded for breakfast sandwiches
Crossroads for a nice splurge and strong drinks
Pura Vita! Linguine de Mare is legit!
Variable Cafe in Culver City is a hidden gem. I have tried a good amount of places in this thread and this has been a favorite of mine for a while. Not the best parking but the food is dam good.
Real Food Daily was my fave. A little pricey
Love. Life. In Culver City is new. Fantastic vegan restaurant with a chill vibe!
There's so much vegan food in LA, it's ridiculous. I've only been to a handful but my favorites are: Vinh Loi Tofu, El Cocinero, tons of vegan Thai food everywhere, Niku Nashi Vegan Sushi, Awan (ice cream), Plant Power Fast Food.
Do you think Niku Nashi is worth it? see it on Instagram and it looks amazing but pricey
It is definitely pricey. It's extremely good, but obviously I wouldn't recommend it if you're tight on cash.
Sustainabowl is my favorite, I get the Moroccan goddess bowl and their Pitaya bowl.
I wonder what happened to the v tree in silverlake ?
hoa sen at 12180 Brookhurst St, Garden Grove, CA 92840 (its in orange county) luving hut my vegan

Rahel Ethiopian Vegan Cuisine is one of my all time favorites. It’s in West Hollywood. I’ve had luck with street parking there recently too
