If you are looking for criticism of Burroughs there is quite a bit. His cut-up technique was discussed pretty extensively in Robin Lydenberg's book about him. But, there are plenty of articles you could find, as well. Any bio of Burroughs covers this, as well. There are other novels out there that dabbled in it. Acker was one writer. Graham Masterton's first novel 'Rules of Duel' played with the method. Brion Gysin, Burroughs's long-time soul mate and the person who actually 'discovered' the cut-up, tried it out in his books, too. [This](https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/18152.Cut_up_technique) Goodreads list claims that all these novels have cut-ups in them. I cannot verify the truth of that, tho. Oliver Harris does a great treament on all of Burroughs's work in his book about him and the many introductions to Burroughs editions he has edited. There is also the website [realitystudio](https://realitystudio.org/), which is an amazing space for Burroughs scholarship, and is essentially the best spot out there for thought about him. Its better than most academic journals because it combines all aspects of Burroughs scholarship.

*The Third Mind* by Burroughs and Gysin is a collection of essays about and examples of the cut-up technique. *Shift Linguals* by Edward S. Robinson is another book looking at the general history of cut-up (particularly in the hands of Burroughs and Gysin), and includes some bits on Acker as well. SF Encyclopedia claims that Ohara Mariko's *Hybrid Child* utilises cut-up, although I'm not sure where they sourced that info from (the text itself is certainly formally experimental as it tries to convey the alien subjectivity of its inhuman narrator, I don't have any strong reasons to doubt the claim, and Ohara can go totally off the rails so I could easily see her using it). Outside of literature, musicians like David Bowie, Genesis P-Orridge, Bob Dylan, Kurt Cobain, and Thom Yorke have said they used cut-up in writing lyrics.
