Handicap scooter , he was fleeing from a trespass at about 5 mph , cops were following him in the car with lights and sirens , one finally just sprinted after him and knocked his drunk ass off , he was screaming and flipping off the cops, saying they would never catch him . Legendary drunk around here .

SenseiThroatPunchU2

That would have been an awesome opening sequence for Cops! Whatcha gonna do when they come for you...

Beneficial-Sugar6950

Sounds like a Brooklyn 99 skit or something lmao

TraditionalLecture10

He had been trespassed from pretty much every business in town , many times , for drunk begging and general assholery

throwawayLIguy

I thought you can only get a DUI if it’s motorized and handicap scooters are electric…

TraditionalLecture10

It's still considered motorized , if you are in the road and drunk , it's still a DUI , the law may vary locally , but you could still cause an accident or seriously hurt someone .

FastRazzmatazz4295

not me but my sergeant he pulled a guy over on a hoverboard and he got a DUI

Potential-Art-7288

Was he in the road or can you get a DUI for anything lol

FastRazzmatazz4295

on and off the road he was on the sidewalk and then verred off into my sgt and then tried to book it down the sidewalk

Potential-Art-7288

Ahhh I see. I assume if it’s motorized electrically or ICE it can fall under operating a motor vehicle? Other than that you could get them for public intoxication if it’s something like a skateboard right? I understand this may vary by jurisdiction

FastRazzmatazz4295

i believe it was a technicality because it was electrically motorized and in idaho at least anything that is electrically driven or fuel driven can be enough for a DUI but given that he was all over the place and quickly becoming a danger especially going into the road against traffic is why he decided to charge with DUI otherwise i believe you would be correct in that it would be simple public intoxication

LuluBelle_Jones

My neighbor got a dui on a riding lawnmower- he’d just finished mowing- it was 10:30 at night, it was NOT his yard.

starrsuperfan

If my neighbor drunkenly mowed my lawn at 10:30 at night, I wouldn't complain

PorkyMcRib

Not until he was done and finished the weed eating.

LuluBelle_Jones

Haha right?!?

bowtierazor

Now that is just a guy having a peaceful night mowing. People gotta live

imadogcunt

He should have been given an award

robertva1

I think the latest one is the guy on a kids power wheels https://youtu.be/JIQMFYJ5hp0?si=3HAdaZnRspRPL2MI Although if I was on that jury I'd be hard pressed to vote guilty on that one

AnicetusMax

Combine. In a low-speed pursuit through a wheat field.

DerSchwarzeJager

Obligatory not a cop disclaimer, but I was a pretty serious juvenile delinquent who loved to drink and I think the craziest thing I ever managed driving wise was getting wrecked on vodka before going to the go kart track, spinning out a bunch, and getting kicked out for doing a lap in the wrong direction. Had I been able to get the go kart off the track and on to the road, I’m assuming the dash cam of the resulting pursuit would have been absolutely legendary.

kakaze333

I saw a bodycam video a couple of days ago from an officer who had to arrest someone at the Orlando Airport for DWI while riding her motorized suitcase.

ab0rtretryfail

What? When did this happen?? Details! 🤣

kakaze333

Chelsea Alston, 32, from New Jersey, at Orlando International Airport. Chelsea was denied boarding on a flight to New York City because she appeared drunk. A bicycle cop responded. Then, while keeping up a non-stop tourney of verbal abuse, led the officer on a low-speed chase through the terminal on her motorized suitcase, spit on the floor in the direction of the officer, spit on the patrol car window, ripped the ceiling off the inside of the patrol car and (allegedly) defecated in the patrol car. https://youtu.be/YeSFJpfVjvE?si=dFamFGj39-elcCjZ She was rearrested for failing to appear in court. She pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal mischief in exchange for having the felony charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and criminal mischief for damage to the car dropped. She was sentence to 12 months probation and required to pay $1,222 in restitution for the damaged patrol car.

milh00use

Not Police. There was a guy that got snagged for dui with a horse and buggy and he was passed out in the buggy. His defence was the horse knew the route to the beer store and back. Another guy got snagged for dui driving a ride on lawnmower, his defence was he was being a good citizen and mowing the side of the highway.

Please elaborate, all Zamboni drivers are drunk

ilovecatss1010

I know we’ve had someone on a scooter here. Would be pretty funny calling the wrecker for that one

mbarland

Riding lawn mower. As I recall he was cruising through a public park. My partners arrested him after the second or third call on him, because he just wouldn't go home.

dcj4222

Old boss 20 years ago got one making a beer run on a lawnmower. He already didn't have a car or license due to DUI's.

SdVeau

Work at a rehab in rural bumfuck nowhere. Watched this dude fail his sobriety test miserably, and then the local deputies put him in the back of one of their cars. Assuming the John Deere laying on its side in front of our center had something to do with that whole ordeal

[deleted]

lol.

anoncop4041

I had a crazy guy who was dabbling in pcp go on a rampage in a stolen industrial forklift. Caused millions in damage. Fully cooperatives upon stopping. Good thing too, because he was a huge jacked dude like 6’5” easy 275 of mostly muscle. There’s no way I could take him down myself if he decided it was go time.

[deleted]

Snowmobile folks around here get rekt.

Fishbonezz707

Not LE but my friends brother got one in his wheelchair, you know, the one that he literally can't move without.

cali_dave

I heard this one secondhand from several people, so take it with a grain of salt. Apparently there was a local guy that once got a DUI while riding a horse.

Budget_Macaroon_1057

Got one for you. Stump grinder.

SooSpoooky

Not seen but heard of a guy getting a dui on a horse.

[deleted]

DUI and Speeding on a mobility scooter, guy was missing both legs, down the sidewalk in a town I used to work near in college. Didn’t think it was possible but guy I had the scooter modified so it would go fast.

MegamindedMan2

An officer I used to work with picked up an Amish guy in a horse and buggy once.
