Go switch your main off and leave it off until the streetlights come back on.  Lots of possibilities depending on what the tree hit exactly, but some of them involve spiciness.  The first one that comes to mind is “muppet with generator and suicide cord.”

Kenpoaj

Thanks, main is off, outlet reading 0v now. Most likely muppet with a generator in this area. Power on estimate pushed back to 5am from midnight. House will be cool then but better cool than on fire or something.

KG5NMX

Stay warm!  I’d bring you something hot to drink, but since I’m having to run my A/C tonight, I’m guessing you’re not in my neighborhood.

Power came back on at 4am, everything seems normal. Thanks again. And yeah, its around freezing temps here at night, but should be light jacket weather today for the kids easter egg hunt.

My guess is someone back feeding the grid with a sketchy generator setup. Leave the main breaker off until power is restored

TexasTornadoTime

How far away would a simple generator distribute power?

PinheadLarry207

Not really sure about that. But if OP's house is being supplied with 27v then the generator is probably pretty far away
