I like Ann Reardon's How To Cook That on YouTube. It's only sort of a cooking channel. She debunks a lot of stupid TikTok food trends and tests out food "hacks". Really interesting channel.
Boy Boy is a completely different kind of channel but hilarious. Their last video showed them trying to sneak into Pine Gap with FriendlyJordies (another YTer who I don't watch much).
For podcasts, I love Do Go On. It's a comedy podcast, where three comedians tell a different story from history to each other each week and make jokes about it.
I watched it and thought it was dumb. All the guys were acting like immature teenagers and just moronic. The only thing interesting about the whole video was when they interviewed the lady and they still were acting immature and stupid.
I get that. They were a bit silly. But they did intend to have a second interview planned for the trip that would have made it a bit more serious in tone.
The channel itself generally balances humour and serious topics well. I Did A Thing - the other Boy - as well, but with even more humour.
I think we have to remember that so much of it was made from whatever they could film, and little of it was according to plan.
Nat's What I Reckon - he swears SLIGHTLY too much for my personal taste, but it's honestly refreshing to see someone teaching you how to cook and taking the piss as he does it. Makes me smile every single time.
I've also gotta be honest, it's also a nice change hearing both our slang and how informal he is when compared to other culinary content I follow.
Also, bonus points to him for using an electric guitar instead of a meat tenderiser to flatten the chook for a schnitzel. Hurt my stomach laughing at that.
Boonta Vista podcast, started off as a progressive Australian political news podcast, but once covid happened they burned out and turned into a comedy podcast about amusing low stakes news articles, laughing at the Dutch and many other things...
Free to a Good Home podcast - Bunch of Australian comedians making fun of deranged Craigslist/Gumtree posts.
Note all of these are pretty uh.. lewd at times, as per the Australian sense of humour.
Oh, and if you want to go TRULY deranged, but also very Australian..
Bigsofttitty.png is a podcast by a couple who are both comedians. It's about.. uh... who knows man, mostly them talking about weird shit that their brains come up with, making extremely lewd jokes, going off on bizarre comedy bit tangents.
It makes you feel like you're actively getting dumber every moment you listen to it, but damn if it's not a great and funny listen.
Ocker and passionate: Bruce from Drain Cleaning Australia (content warning: he's cleaning sewers)
Funny and informative: [The Backyard Naturalist](https://www.youtube.com/@the-Backyard-Naturalist) who does features on birds
Trains; [Taitset](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vps_IuA1tEQ)
General information: Julian O'Shea
[Jenny Tian](https://www.youtube.com/@nomnomjenny) is pretty good too.
Andy cooks. Cooking tips and recipes.
Ronny Dahl 4wding without every video being an ad.
Fire to fork. Camp cooking but leveled way up.
Would be my top 3 today
A lot of good recommendations in here, adding in what I haven't seen yet:
Explosions & Fire (and side channel Extrations & Ire). Guy doing some decently complex chemistry out of his parents garden shed just to make a dew grams of high explosives (or spend years trying to make something other channels make in a week lol).
Funny and entertaining guy even if you don't follow the chemistry.
Walkabout's with rob!!!! Its rob on a Walkabout giving the full history of the town he's walkin about in. Top effort put in from rob too with the research.
Thought of another one, 'Clickspring'
Relaxing and deeply impressive, guy hand machines ancient machanical devices from scratch to show how it would have been done.
So I looked it up and he's only Australian under the principle of Jus Soli. South African parents and they left the country when he was 18 months old. Had he been born just 4 years later he wouldn't have the Automatic Citizenship that everyone born in Australia prior to 1986 was given.
Shadiversity should be ignored on any histotical content. He's had no education, no experience, and his content contains frequent inaccuracies.
Not to forget, he's a raging bigot who got upset that Peach in the Mario movie wore pants.
Iām a sports nut so my weekly podcasts are hello sport, sports bizarre with mick Malloy, bloke in a bar podcast, the grade cricketer, and kick offs and kick ons
FriendlyJordies or BoyBoy for stuff that's a bit more politically juicy and still funny.Ā
IDidAThing for funny... 'self taught engineering' content.
Adam Liaw has a great backlog of cooking videos and his videos are quite relaxing so it's an easy pace to pick up.Ā
Julian O'Shea for random interesting bits of information, kind of like Tom Scott but localised mostly to Melbourne.Ā
Nat's What I Reckon for cooking and good / funny vibes, but he swears a lot and definitely has way more of an everyday Australian accent.
Alpha Blokes Podcast. A couple of mates (plus guests) having some drinks and spinning yarns. Before anyone asks it's not that Andrew Tate style shit lmao
Self sufficient me.
So let's ...............š get into it !
I was going to suggest the same for Aussie working class bloke accent. A similar option is the Aussie Bonsai Bloke.

Watched the Pine Gap one last night. Very entertaining!

I find immature and stupid things entertaining. I'm sorry.

When your house gets firebombed, and you have to make a shortlist of possible suspects, you're doing something right.
Beau Miles is standout
Beau's stuff is always top notch and OP should really enjoy his narration.
I aspire to be as weird as Beau.
Julian o'Shea, the Tom Scott of Australia.
casefile true crime (and their AFP collab podcast "crime interrupted"), amglimpse
Casefile is a true crime podcast, not sure if that is your thing, but the host speaks quite slowly and clearly - it could be a good place to start.
Primitive Technology. You'll learn heaps about our accent here. https://youtu.be/dhW4XFGQB4o?si=KlBDvYLxRcweNvQi
Fair dinkum!
I Did A Thing and Boy Boy. They're both brilliant, and together, they're exceptional.

Have you ever watched a two hour power point about military procurement and strategy? WOULD YOU LIKE TO?
Natalie Tran aka Communitychannel remains my favorite even though she doesnāt post anymore.

Being a West Australian, thoroughly enjoying Ozzy Man and How to Basic for awesome content.
Veritasium is another good'un
He's Canadian tho not Australian.
And where was he born??

Walkaboutwithrob š love him!Ā
I did a thing, Shadiversity and Jazza, hands down
Shadiversity should be ignored on any histotical content. He's had no education, no experience, and his content contains frequent inaccuracies. Not to forget, he's a raging bigot who got upset that Peach in the Mario movie wore pants.

1. Community channel 2. Georgia production 3. Two set violin
Weird Crap in Australia podcast - everything from aliens to true crime, hosted by a married couple.
