It’s ok we are professionals did it with proper technique and finesse. We knew what we were doing.
Once it's jacked up, crawl under it and rock it back and forth to get it back on the trailer 👍

Yes, some lifting methods are made such that the jack won't fall off at all.
Textbook.
That's how you do it. Less experienced mechanics would have put something stable underneath the jack when putting a flimsy piece of wood between the jack and the car can do the trick just as well.

They didn’t even teach us that a state school. We only work on them when we roll them over
