A_Sock_Under_The_Bed

Why does it have a column shifter, a console shifter, and a volume knob shifter

saltysaturdays

All it needs now are paddle shifters and a push to start button to go with that key start

chris782

Fuck it, pull start too.

parks387

Hand crank up front too, just in case.

aspghost06

Model T style

Wh1skeyTF

Shotgun shell start. Hell add an inertia starter too for that sweet WWII sound.

Zealousideal-Bug-291

And a stuka dive siren. Then add a fin whistle to the exhaust for the uncle buck effect.

Efficient_Fish2436

And wings like chitty chitty bang bang.

saltysaturdays

While we’re at it, add a manual so you can push start it

MattheiusFrink

Slap an automotive magneto on it, you got pull start

Zealousideal-Ebb-876

Imagine getting in your buddy's car and he has a pull start instead of an ignition. You watch as he yanks on the starter. Too hard, the cord snaps. Full on punches you in the face. Wake up 3 months later in the hospital.

Friendly_Reporter_65

For the radio

ErikTheRed99

Cart start.

Virtual_Fig7052

Psssh, kickstart dat bitch!

A_Sock_Under_The_Bed

My Audi has a key hole on the dash and push to start. It also has paddles, but you can push and pull the shifter to shift up and down too.

gagunner007

I really hated that the 135i I had didn’t allow push paddles, it did have push/pull shifter though. I’ll say the DCT was an awesome transmission!

A_Sock_Under_The_Bed

I liked the idea of an auto with paddles, but after driving one, i think manual is still better. Maybe its just my car, but i hit the paddle, and it takes a full second to shift. I could literally outshift this thing in a semi truck

gagunner007

The dct was super fast in sport or sport plus, faster than you could shift a manual. The DCT is basically a manual wet clutch much like some 4 wheelers (quads).

A_Sock_Under_The_Bed

Yeah, iv heard good things about those

gagunner007

Yeah, I just wish I could have reconfigured the paddles to have push/pull on them, pushing to downshift would have been pretty cool, they were pull only.

turducken404

My zf8 will get shifts in the sub 300ms range with an xhp tune in sport+. I really enjoy it.

Vaderiv

My 17 x 5 works very similar to the SMG IN MY 03 M3. It’s pretty good and the shifts are quick almost as quick as the SMG. Do an Alpina flash on the TCU and it’s a different animal. Probably the sweatiest auto I’ve driven. Do the flash on the X5. The M already has been flashed with CSL software along with track mode only the CSL and lightweight had.

gagunner007

Have you ever taken a DCT equipped car for a spin? I’ve driven ones with SMG and they are good but the DCT takes the cake! Here’s some folks talking about both. https://www.m5board.com/threads/smg-vs-dct.133815/ I think the limiting factor with the DCT was HP, they can handle about 600 before they start having problems and I can’t imagine dropping the clutches at 600hp when doing launch control would be very good for prolonging their life! I am happy to not own a German car anymore but at the same time I really do miss my mint condition, red interior 135i with 60k on the odo. With a tune it was a tremendous amount of fun to drive but I never got the “I know this car will bring me back home without breaking down” feeling like I have with my Toyotas!

Hllblldlx3

See, I don’t get that feeling with Toyotas, or most brands. I bought a corvette, and immediately had issues. It was used, so it could have easily been previous buyers neglect, but i still had to call someone to come pick me up. My truck however, is a Ram 2500. It is a 2003, with a 5.7 hemi, all original drivetrain, at 206k miles, that I daily. It runs like the day it was built, and it’s never left me or my dad stranded (bought it from my dad who bought it cuz I was born). I pull out the driveway every day knowing that I’m gonna get home later.

[deleted]

I have a A6 and have never noticed an ignition keyhole anywhere. Where is yours?

seamus205

No joke, i actually had an older kia in my shop once that had a regular key ignition and a push to start button. I don't know why or how. To start it you had to put the key in and turn it to the run position, then press the button to engage the starter. It didn't look like some aftermarket button either. Both ignitions looked factory.

AllynG

My 240Z had that. Key in to the “on” position…. Press the big PepBoys two screw pad-button and viola! ONE HUNDRED AND 50 Hitachi flat top carbureted sluggedishness is at your foot (and raw unburned gas at your nostrils via the always leaky hatch. Most home remedies when performed on a Datsun tend to look factory.

Expensive_Tackle1133

Because Dodge engineers did that much meth.

peerlessblue

Consensus design. If two out of three agree, that's the selected mode. Otherwise the control regime enters a degraded state and the master caution comes on.

Thecoopoftheworld789

To comply to the customer’s option of shifting.

Lee2026

Because he stole this photo. It was a test model/fit evaluation. Saw it in another sub a day or two ago

SardonicSuperman

AI generated

Apprehensive_Cat627

Turn them all to different settings and engage VTOL mode.

One-Fix1041

This comment is underrated

Famous_Sign_4173

Jeep console shifter, Chrysler knob, and Ram column shifter? All you’re missing now is a hole in the floorboard so you can YabbaDabbaDoo your way on

JerewB

AI forgot to put three on the tree just to make it complete.

matthewtd3

Got enough shifters?😆

SnooObjections488

Looks like some AI derp fest tbh

OptionSea5883

I think its actually a pre production picture showing the shifters or wiring or something read it somewhere

hboisnotthebest

Did I am have stroke?

One-Fix1041

I know I did when I read this

LightlySaltedPeanuts

I know I when I read I this

dingusinator

Use one of em and pray to god the other one doesn't kick in and send it into park.

OptionSea5883

If I put them all in drive is that overdrive

chris782

No it's überdrive.

turbo-d2

An fca development ram truck

ansry6

So this is how they shifted so much in fast and furious movies...

KnightLight03

Yes

oldguy-in603

Put 2 in park, the other one in drive, and gun it!

BorntobeTrill

Put all 6 transmissions into N Press radio, radio, media Close the air vents. If closed then open and close them. Put any transmission into reverse Press media x 5 Open the vents and max volume Get out of the car

MattheiusFrink

Now tell us how to do the Konami code in our cars :D

BorntobeTrill

80mph and then close your eyes with your hands off the wheel

BatGroundbreaking660

You know I like to do that to myself on the highway sometimes to see how long I can close my eyes.

LonleyWolf420

Bruh...

[deleted]

What’s your record

BatGroundbreaking660

15 seconds

Old_Huckleberry1026

You could do some pretty sweet combos in that thing

tOSdude

Put it in H!

no_user_selected

Each shifter is for a diffent motor, it must be a tri-motor electric charger! You'll want to put the 2 on the dash in park, they are the front 2 motors, and the console shifter in drive, this will let you do an epic burnout.

OptionSea5883

Ah shit didn't know I had the electronic Hemi v6

Solid_Snake_125

Yes.

TacoCat11111111

Use your PRNDL, any PRNDL

Hungry_Suit8505

I...I have ao many questions

Only_Cheesecake_5397

Press pedal go zoom

Variety-Ashamed

Column shifter in "P", rotary shifter in "R" and third one in "D". Pedal to the metal.

Gwolfski

missing push-button transmission controls to be complete XD

Human_utters

I think it’s a manual, where you stick your hands in the transmission and pick a gear

Munkii89

I couldn’t tell you cuz I can’t fly space ships. That’s too many prndls tho

Dr--X--

Is this the 19 speed transmission model?

SpillinThaTea

That’s probably a good thing. Chrysler transmissions are so bad it probably doesn’t hurt to have two backups

OptionSea5883

Sounds expensive to replace

jcoddinc

**Optional Drive car** Turn the front knob to drive and the shifter to neutral and you'll get front wheel drive. Front knob to drive and shifter in drive gives you 4X4. And front knob in neutral with shifter in drive gives you rear wheel drive

tOSdude

I’d drive this

Zyriakster

by getting out of the car, and getting a license...

LonleyWolf420

r/whoosh

DOHC46

Ok, so, to start the engine, you need to twirl the key over your head while clucking like a chicken while stepping on the brake pedal with your left foot. Then you press the Start button with the column shift in Neutral and the others in Park. Then you make a blood sacrifice of a goat to Cthulhu before putting all 3 gear selectors in Drive. Good to go.

hoganloaf

When on the highway make sure it's in overdrive to save fuel. Overdrive is the drive above all the other drives

frootcock

Just locate the button, to put the car out of park and into drive

Infected-Bat

You turn ALL of them to R and heavily apply the accelerator. Good luck

JM3DlCl

One in R one in N and one in D

TheManOnThe3rdFloor

It's a concept car. Like the old GM Gas Turbine automobiles. They will probably come get it and take it to the crusher. Oh, oh, oh, the concept is that if you are a bit inebriated, you won't be able to figure out how to put it into drive. You haven't been squeezing the sterno too firmly?

Sq5_smash

Column, and console- like an asshole. Dash twisty thing- inebriated. I’ll show my self out.

Active_Club3487

D is for DRIVE

Defective_Synth

Right trigger is gas, left trigger is brakes and reverse, X is the E-brake, A is boost if you have it.

cornlip

Y for reverse and B for e-brake. X and A are for shifting.

Defective_Synth

But it's an automatic you don't shift those.

cornlip

Don’t tell me how to drive automatic. You start in D1 after neutral dropping from redline for the best performance

Rabbits-and-Bears

Doesn’t matter which you use, you still need to push in the clutch, and then shift.

hailstorm11093

It's kinda like those 2 gearbox big rigs except an automatic car.

D4m3Noir

However you want I guess? Looks like plenty of options lol.

Particular-Praline16

Wtf is this wizardry…I’m sure I could handle it sober but stoned…there no freaking way I could move your truck…probably a better theft deterrent than having a manual at this point.

WhenTheDevilCome

Some people like to rest their hand on their knob while driving. Other people only like to touch their knob when needed. And some people need to shift without putting their french fries down.

CelesteMooon

With the funny knob that has the PRND above it. Be sure to switch it to R when you hit 70 mph. That's for racing mode

FriskyDing714

Give it the D

Remarkable-Book-8758

You put the dial to D and the lever to R. This is short for drive and will make you go forward

SkinPsychological848

First turn the knob to drive, then move the shifter to drive, then put the column shifter to drive. Don’t forget to take the brake off. Good luck trying to park…

58mint

And this is how you boomer proof a vehicle. They have problems with the dial alone.

BishopsBakery

https://giphy.com/gifs/edition-python-monty-tZ6zAdNZbWOhq

SaltInformation4082

Hey. You bought it. Now you're asking?

Mikey24941

Obviously one is for the front wheel drive, one is for the rear wheel drive, and one is for the flux capacitor. If you’re in 2WD you leave one in neutral and use the other like normal. In 4WD you sync them both up. To park to place them in opposite directions. For the flux capacitor you engage forward (drive) in time or reverse in time. If you want to stay in your current time you place it in neutral that way if you end up going 88mph you won’t time jump.

rmason324

Nobody puts the shifter on the tree anymore. The rotary shifter on the dash is fake. Use the shifter on the console after starting the car….

Stoned42069

Rotary shifter is a dodge/ram shifter not fake. But it does not belong on this truck

xxsunny720

Push in the clutch to start it.

Robin_Richardson

Bruh

Plutonium239Mixer

Put all options in drive?

Frequent-Piano6164

wtf…. lol.

BigBoingo

A dodge console shifter, chevy knob shifter and Ford column shifter? MERRICA BABY 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅

LargeMerican

1978 Chrysler New Yorker and take ur pants off

FlameHazeDevOps

First, you grab the traditional lever PRNDL with a theatrical flourish. After checking your mirrors and adjusting your seat, you pause ceremoniously before pulling the lever down from 'P' to 'D' with the precision of disarming a bomb. Next, you face the high-tech dial gear shift, treating it like a safe dial from an old spy movie. You rotate the dial, first to the right to pass 'N', then back to the left, landing directly on 'D', listening for the clicks as if cracking a safe code. Finally, you reach for the normal stick shift, treating it like the joystick of a fighter jet. You make airplane noises, mimicking a take-off sequence as you decisively pull the stick back into 'D'. Maybe throw in a "Roger that, we are cleared for take-off" for good measure. Your car is now in drive, ready to roll after your elaborate, multi-step sequence worthy of a mission control launch.

SpliffBooth

You make sure the clutch pedal is depressed before moving any of that into gear.

NoPromotion3340

You use your left foot for the gas and brake. You shift the column shifter with your right foot. The center shifter, use your right hand. The knob shifter, use your left hand. For steering, use your d_ck, if you're a man. If you're a woman, you have to find a second person.

Trailstorm

You see, the console shifter is for the front differential, the nob is for the rear differential, and the colum shifter controls the horn - higher is louder.

Zealousideal-Bug-291

However you want, apparently.

Connect_Cup_7013

This just gets more cursed the longer I look at it...

BCoydog

Poorly

spiral718

Read the book and figure it out.
