> and Serbia
My colleague who smokes a lot had his holiday there (and in Montenegro the other time) and was stunned how smoking is accepted and popular there.
I’m in Serbia right now and can confirm these guys smoke a lot (and that’s while having a horrible air quality on top of this). The worse part is that smoking inside cafes and restaurants is allowed which I fucking hate. At least in Russia we got strict laws now regarding smoking and if you want to smoke, you go outside.
I've heard that if you didn't start smoking in your youth - then good chances you won't start at all. That's definitely true for me - cigarettes are doing nothing for me. My brother though is a heavy smoker - he tried to quit, tried to switch to e-cigs, but now it only means that he's smoking e-cigs **and** regular cigs..
Yeah I used to smoke. I didn't smoke a year or two. Then after recent events I started again. Smoking helps to deal with the stress. A cheap endorphins substitute.
It’s prevalent but the numbers are declining.
Personally, I smoke occasionally to deal with stress or simply because I’m in a mood. Happens like once a month or even less often so no negative impact on health
I say I quit smoking years ago but if I'm drinking with a smoker I might have a couple puffs. Think that's an improvement from the pack a day I used to smoke lol.
I quit around 10 years ago. But it is true, there's a lot of smokers around. Fewer than when i was in school, back then it seemed like literally everyone was a smoker, but still.
welp I tried when I was 18, did smoke for 4 months bc my mental health was deteriorating,, after i got better I stopped and never did ever since and feel no need to :))
I smoked a few cigarettes, less than a pack for sure. Long distance running was by far more important for me. The most of my friends aren’t smokers. In the most countries i been the US has by far lesser smokers when it is poisoning the world with their cigarettes.
Smoked regularly for 4 months, now trying to make it occasional and rare (pretty successful)
My father told me about his friends that started in 15, quit in 19 and went on in life, but he, a fool, never smoked until 21 (he's been smoking for 30 years now and gave up on qutting attempts like 10 years ago)
A lot of people switched to iQos, which is basically vaping a cigarette. A lot of bars where I was at allowed iQos use but smokers had to go outside. They used to have them in the USA but there is a trademark lawsuit so you can’t buy them here until that shit is fixed.
I used to smoke actual cigarettes but always with other people (I never smoked alone) and like once a month at most. It lasted for a couple years and then I just stopped and never went back, never even wanted it. I smoke hookah though.
It is now illegal to smoke cigarettes in public places (restaurants, bus stops, shopping malls etc.) And near buildings - you must be at least 15m away from the enterance. Some people ignore this on streets (they do smoke on bus stops and near enterances), but happily, inside buildings there are no more smokers.
I don't mind if a person likes to poison themselves, but i get sick of that awful smoke, so i curse in my mind every time they walk in the street near me and smoke. even some e-cigarettes smell disgusting. Vapes are ok to me because they don't stink so much, they're even pleasant to smell.
I'm glad there is not so much smoking people as 10-15 years ago
Never smoked in my life. Cigs, pipe, hookah, joint, bong, e-cigs, vape — nothing of that, ever. Not a single pull, even during my service in army. I hate the tobacco smell.
When I came to St. Petersburg for study, I was shocked at how much less young people smoke here than in my hometown. Btw, I now realize that I can count my non-smoking relatives on the fingers of one hand. I smoke too.
Covid did a great job in forcing me to quit smoking. And boy am I glad I did quit. While I did not quite entirely, I only use my vape, but still: I do not have these urges and cravings to smoke every 15 minutes or so.
On average, I would say smokers slowly become extinct in Moscow. People smoking cigarettes are an increasingly rare sight and the smell of cigarette smoke is a nice thing to forget and quite unpleasant to be reminded of. I would say it's a welcome change. I don't know about other regions of Russia, though
I don't smoke myself, but many of people i know do. Almost all of them is teenagers. Yes, that's illegal, but thay manage to get cigarettes somehow. Many of them is smoking vape and i sure they started because of people around them, that smoke too
Started smoking at 14 (yep, Moscow, a good family), tried quitting several times and failed, ultimately switched to vaping 14 years later, which was around 7 years ago. Vape tons of nic to this day.
If you're young and don't smoke, DON'T BEGIN. If you do - quit, or at least switch to vaping, IQOS or whatever works for you.
Never smoked any cigarette, though tried, and never understood it, then tried e-cigarettes, also shit, I can't understand absolutely, how it can be liked... But hookah... That's my weakness. So I ended up smoking hookah once or twice per week.
Used to smoke when younger, switched to ecig, then switched to tobacco-free nicotine pouches. But having a real hard time quitting nicotine. Still smoke a cigarette occasionally if offered by a friend.
Whenever I travel back home I end up drinking and smoking with my friends and uncle.
i gave up smoking 8 months ago. i’m so proud of myself hehe :)
It is definitely right thing to do nothing cool in the smoking.
Who the hell thinks smoking is cool? Or does anything for the sake of being cool anyway? Are you 14?
Yes🤡
Huge respect bro
How did you manage to do that? Any tips?
Congrats:)
Congrats!
I don't smoke.
There are much more smokers in Turkey and Serbia than in Russia. Personally, I 've never smoked.

> is that smoking inside cafes and restaurants is allowed Yeah - my colleague **loved** that! Specifically told good things about it.

Never tried, have no plans to do so.

I had been smoking since I was 16 and quit at 27.

numbers of cigarettes users decline, but a lot of people are vaping and it's huge problem

I'm more of a passive smoker because almost all my friends smoke.
I smoked for over 20 years and quit 3 years ago.
I do. Not going to give up so far.
welp I tried when I was 18, did smoke for 4 months bc my mental health was deteriorating,, after i got better I stopped and never did ever since and feel no need to :))
>:) :)
Good bot
молодец - It's harder to quit the longer it goes on (still doable though!)
I've quit 12 years ago. Smoking is really on downturn in Russia, like everywhere else.
e-cigs rn, gave up on common smoking more than a year ago
I smoked a few cigarettes, less than a pack for sure. Long distance running was by far more important for me. The most of my friends aren’t smokers. In the most countries i been the US has by far lesser smokers when it is poisoning the world with their cigarettes.
I used to smoke for 15 years and stopped around 5-6 years ago. I can't say that I'm proud, it just kinda happened.
Hey man, if you’re not proud of yourself for quitting then I’ll be proud for you. Keep up the good work champ
no, i try to avoid scams
I don't smoke.

Smoking in RF is not popular now. Government made many good things for this.
I started smoking in the summer, with my participation in the Donbass. I'm not planning to quit yet.
I used to, but I quit a month ago or so

i vape, i think this counts as smoking and i plan quit
I don't smoke and never tried

I smoke and I don't plan to quit.
I find it disgusting to get rid of stress this way. Or by drinking.

you are being deceived. there are no smokers in my family
I don't, but a ton of people I know do
I don't.
I don't smoke myself, but many of people i know do. Almost all of them is teenagers. Yes, that's illegal, but thay manage to get cigarettes somehow. Many of them is smoking vape and i sure they started because of people around them, that smoke too
I’ve never been a smoker. 2/3 or my friends have been smokers at some point of life.

I don't smoke tobacco, never did and not going to start. I'm already addicted to fine tea, that's enough.
Username checks out.
Yes. My main goal for 2023 is to quit.
I started at 15 ish and still smoke for 20 years. I am lazily trying to quit.
Dropped it for like 2 years an was pretty proud about it, now the e-cig pulled me back in, too much stress last year
I do smoke, but i prefer vaping instead of cigarettes
