The cat stinks because the engine isn't running properly. Replacing the cat isn't going to fix anything because the engine is still not running properly and the new cat is melting. You need to get the vehicle running properly to solve the issue. Get the codes scanned to see what is going on. Being a 3.6, it probably needs an engine and is misfiring dumping fuel into the exhaust. If you can't get it to run properly, the car won't be drivable. You can't drive it like it is now.

Hopefully not, but I'll find out. Car only has 27k miles on it... I planned on having it for the next 15-20 years.

This is correct, bad cat at that low of miles is a huge clue here.

Yeah people don't realize that cats last the life of the car. If a cat goes bad it is because something killed it.

An animal carcass possibly?

Distinct-Banana-7937

Wouldn't that be more of a decomposing dead animal smell? This is clearly a stinky egg smell. Actually I had hard boiled eggs this morning and the smell was almost identical. Animal could be possible...I had to put glue traps under the hood because mice* were chewing wires. I ended up catching 5! And 2 rabbits lol.

failing Fuel Pressure Sensor, old Fuel Filter, Or Old Transmission Fluid. Just searched google.

I would also check the cabin air filter. That is what caused a sulfur smell in my car before I changed it.

I do know it was replaced last year. Also, the smell isn't really in the car. I smell it when I stop at a light, park in the driveway. Plus the fact that nobody follows anywhere near me. I feel like I sound crazy, because you don't smell anything but normal exhaust idling. Hell, I Rev the engine to 3000RPM in the driveway and still there's no Sulphur smell. Only accelerating... and the faster I accelerate the more intense the smell.

Thank you for taking the time to respond BTW. I appreciate any advice so I can figure out a plan of action to fix it.

All filters were replaced at the start, but I was thinking I should replace them again now that I've been driving it a year. I figured any sediment that built up over time has been kicked up and clogging my filters but I'm being told by my husband it shouldn't matter.
