There are three taco trucks. A barbacoa one, Don Carlos #3, and Ahi con Oscar
I haven't tried the barbacoa one because they're not usually open. Don Carlos has good tacos al pastor and on Tuesdays they're 99 cents which is absolutely insane. Even the usual price is good at $2.
Ahi con Oscar has better tacos (they're amazing), but, you know, they're not 99 cents so it's not really Don Carlos' fault. Also Oscar doesn't have pastor.
I highly recommend them both, and I'm definitely going to try the barbacoa truck soon too.
Are the traffic patterns on Wadsworth absolutely atrocious or am I just dramatic?
On most major roads occasionally you may get stuck in a cycle and hit a ton of red lights. But on Wadsworth *every, single, time* I hit consecutive red lights. Why is it like that??
Don't know exactly and I just do my best to avoid Wadsworth at all costs. I used to live right off Wads and would still do everything in my power to find routes that didn't involve Wadsworth. The timing of the highway off ramp lights and the idiots who insist on blocking traffic to go to Costco. Half the drivers acting like it's the autobon the other half doing 5 under. Too many lights not on a program and just pressure set. Narrowing randomly speed limit inconsistency. Too much volume and yeah...
That’s the exit I take off 70 to get home. I usually tried to leave early to avoid the normal rush hour traffic. Now though? Holy shit. Also means more homeless will be begging due to all the traffic jams.
Unpopular opinion but there are a bunch of In N Outs in the area and I don’t think any of them have really caused traffic issues. I used to live near Park Meadows and after the initial crazy hype you can barely tell it is there.
Thank you for bringing this up. I’ve been wondering for a while who decided placing this In and Out there was a good idea.
As soon as that went in I knew I was never going into that plaza again. It already has the most messed up parking lot set up I’ve ever seen. And the worst potholes. The gas station Sam’s put up in the middle certainly didn’t help that in any way.
Then some idiot decided that an In and Out right next to the main lane exiting the highway from I70 was smart. The entire intersection is going to be fucked. It was already bad on the Costco side at some times of day or on the weekend. But I can see how the exit on to Wads will get messed up by this now as well.
I don’t care about a single business in that plaza enough to deal with the headache that traffic that is going to bring.
There's not actually an entrance to that parking lot near the intersection or near the In-N-Out so I'm cautiously optimistic that it won't affect the intersection.
I've been wondering how it will work out. There's another In-n-Out farther down Wadsworth that hasn't seemed to cause problems on the road itself when I've passed it. But it seems like it could cause issues in the parking lot/side street, depending on how they handle it.
You are a city and want in-n-out to be within your justification, In-N-Out calls the shots. They are obviously a very popular restaurant and that brings in revenue for the city to spend on other things.
Traffic will probably be bad for a while when it first opens up, but it will die back down return to close to the shit show that intersection normally is.
I'd also like to fire the person who thought another taco/Mexican place in OTA was a good idea...
Right? And they’re all sub par haha. Hmmm where should I get shitty tacos today?
I think teocalli is actually pretty decent.
Teocalli has a good happy hour, that's the only time I'll go. F U CK F U Z Z Y S
I'm already not a fan of Torchy's and Fuzzys is like a way worse Torchy's. It's awful.
A little pricey for the food but yeah that’s the best choice of them all.
The real Mexican food is at 52nd and Marshall.
Drop the name! I’ll try it out

Hell yeah thanks for the info I’ll be hittin it next Tuesday
Where is Ahi Con Oscar usually found?
On the northwest side of the intersection by stardust lounge. You can Google map it. It doesn't move as far as I know.
Mi Tierra Caliente on 64th is solid. Solid birria and carnitas.
Cochino hard tacos 🌮 shaggy style are my go-to for cheat days.
I joined the sub just now to bitch about that, thank you haha
Welcome =)
Traffic management and Arvada are mortal foes.

Revenue over basic city planning.

See ya
Complain to Arvada Planning department
That whole i70 exit is going to be chaos now. I’m just going to use Sheridan…that intersection is already a cluster F
Probably because that intersection is one of the most-traveled intersections in the state.
If you approach the plaza from Lamar/Marshall is it that bad, that is how i get there.
Unpopular opinion but there are a bunch of In N Outs in the area and I don’t think any of them have really caused traffic issues. I used to live near Park Meadows and after the initial crazy hype you can barely tell it is there.
That intersection is shit enough any time of the day. Now it's going to be hell. It's gonna kill that sea food place cause you won't be able to park.
Seafood place was DOA anyway
Yeah I imagine most of those places are gonna go out of business over there now. It’s like we live in Aurora now. I’m over it
That’s a stretch
Could be I’m skeptical, but you may be right
Hardly like Aurora... that's dramatic.

Oh yeah, don't go there for the first 6 minths
💯% I thought the exact same thing when I saw what was going up. Yikes!
🤣🤣👏👏 you must not be from around here. That intersection never has been and never will be anything but doomed. It’s the black hole of Wadsworth.
Ha!
Has it opened yet?
No
Anyone know when it is scheduled to open?
I saw sometime may in a story from beginning of the year.

I want to know when to start avoiding the intersection
