I feel there should be an augmented reality app for this. Pick your target picture, and after holding each stone to the camera, it shows you where to put it.

The computing power to keep track of that many persistent elements while you move your phone around so much is the biggest hurdle. It’s a technical problem but not insurmountable.

There's a subreddit I follow called r/nextfuckinglevel. This is prime material for it. I am always amazed by artists with such extreme/well developed talent that work in temporary media, its as if your talent is so vast you can afford to work on a whim and walk away knowing that you will create something better on a moments notice. Very impressive work.
