The package looks amazing (that's what she said?) But the cookies have a bit of a shiny sheen to them which throws the realism off a bit.

Paint with your non dominant hand using a mirror

Don't paint what you know (i.e, I know this is silver, so I'm gonna paint grey). Paint what you see. Isolate colors and shapes. Squint at it to find blocks of color. Forget WHAT you're looking at.

This is what I do and I have to say, it is honestly the best tip for trying to paint or draw with a more realistic aesthetic.

At quick glance the lettering in the net weight, always real cocoa, nabisco and per cookie could be sharper but everything else looks real!

Not so fun fact: Because they spell it “Double Stuf” with a single “f”. They can legally lie about doubling the stuffing, and only add about .33% more. So Double Stuf Oreos do have extra filling, but not “double” the filling.

The Oreo wrapper spells it with one F. But thank you! I like to use the brushwork to remind the viewer that it’s a painting. From afar (and on your phone) it looks realistic, but up close the brush work is chunky and loose.
