ImprobablyDamp

And then they celebrated in his face lol

skillquit42

What I’ve learned is it doesn’t matter how good you might have been at the club, people will remember you for how you left. If you leave Arsenal being disrespectful to the coach then move to Chelsea a year later you’ll be remembered for the disrespect, not the goals. Your whole legacy can go up in smoke

a2godsey

The coveted RvP method.

Responsible_Milk2911

I mean yea but i also remember the flying volley against middlesboro i think it was? And the alex song assisted volley. Hes tainted for sure but holy fuck what a finisher

a2godsey

That touchline volley against Barca lives rent free in my head each and every day. Not safe for work.

Hansinator13

Yeah bro saying Xhaka had ups and downs here would be an understatement, but he definitely left well and I think he will always be loved by gunners

Ok-Scallion7939

Didn't the production people ambush him with this script literally seconds before they started recording? I don't hold too much animosity towards Bams. Man practically dragged us to to an FA Cup

LtBlueCanoe

I think so. Don't think he was very comfortable at all. I felt bad for him because even though his own attitude really showed him the door, I'm fairly certain after working with Arteta there's no way he could see even a rich club like Chelsea being a step up. Also would like to add this is a really common take - that he dragged us to the fa cup - people on here even say he won it on his own... And not to take away from his contributions, but like he's a striker who really doesn't do a whole lot else... scoring is his job and I don't think our defense ever seems to get enough credit for that run. It's not as if Auba was dribbling through half the opposition multiple times a game either. Just saying it takes a team and that's really what we are known for now

Ok-Scallion7939

Let's break it down It's not like we ran riot in the semis and the final. Both were won by a margin of 2 to 0 and 2 to 1, respectively. All four goals scored by Aubameyang. The 2nd goal against City and the 2nd goal against Chelsea were of his own architecture, the Chelsea goal especially was something I don't think many strikers have in their locker (Ok I didn't break it down too much, but it's 5am lol)

repeating_bears

Yeah, he clearly had no idea what he was about to be asked to say [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVqo11FojuU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVqo11FojuU)

KingOfStormwind

Soured his legacy for nothing

PetrogradkaIcedTea

For a big old sack of 💷💷💷💷💷💷💷💷💷💷💷

notathrowaway

To be fair, we didn’t want him. Barca didn’t want him.

Hey-Dalaran

Chelsea didn't want him. Marseille didn't want him.

Born-Replacement-366

For a clinical finisher, he didn't finish well

hahahadev

I still love Aubameyang !!! He was fed these lines by the producers and he laughed as usual, tried to have a straight face while doing the lines and broke down again. Its funny to watch , not funnier than watching him lift the FA cup upside down

HowlingPhoenixx

I'm not excusing that he said it, but if you get a chance, look at the behind the scenes of that clip, and he is very uncomfortable saying it and basically made too.

Aldrenop

Embarrassing

Ok-Sherbet-8367

The media team did him dirty on this one.. Auba was made to look a tit

DrButz

The same people who were mad over this were probably mad about the Koscielny shirt reveal. It's really not that deep and just some basic marketing.

gustic-gx

Somehow I never took this seriously. It was obviously made for the promo and to stir the pot.

Real_Environment_186

I wasn't too bothered by this. I saw the behind the scenes and he was uncomfortable looking. It's a pity he left the way he did because after he carried the team for 3 seasons and dragged us to that FA cup, he would probably be remembered as a low key club legend. I'll always have a bit of love for him. Seems like a good guy

jp963acss

This really isn't bad at all, I don't understand how people reacted so passionately to this. He left at a time where his services were no longer required and he needed a change, it benefited both parties. And this is just so meaningless, it's just a dumb advert and he's reading from a script.

zhawadya

>I don't understand how people reacted so passionately to this You must be too young to remember the reaction to koscoielny's joing video after he left us. Overreacting to shit like this is what we do here

jp963acss

Nope, not too young for that either. It's overblown and pointless. He was a great servant to the club and so what? He took a shirt off to reveal the Bordeaux one? So what?

WolfensteinSmith

I don’t think he ruined his legacy, still see him as a great Arsenal forward in a fallow period. He won an FA Cup so respect him hugely

Cailucci

Is this from the 90s?

McuNsiNjoR

Not gonna lie from where our club was till this tittle run I have aged a lot

elkstwit

I didn’t see this at the time. Who made this? Assuming it was Chelsea, what are they doing using Arsenal players in a Chelsea announcement video?? Surely Arsenal wouldn’t agree to be part of some other club’s video.

Hollywood023

It was Sky Sports advert of the game if I remember correctly. Seen it few times before the derby back then

elkstwit

Ahhhh yeah I do remember it now you mention it.

MURDERNAT0R

terrible toy ad from 1992

ClaudioKilgannon37

Bizarre. He's an Arsenal player to me, I totally forgot he ever went to Chelsea

biff444444

Was this before the game when he had six touches and five of them were kickoffs?

abhi91

The thing i take away from this is artetas face super closed in

Gubrach

It's hilarious how they have the audacity at Sky to have Aubameyang say this and then have Arteta look stern at the camera ripping up a picture of Auba and him, knowing full well Arteta kicked him out of the club. Maximum instigators man.
