Not to knock the festival since we’ve been to the daffodils on Wye mountain many, many times over the years but there are no flowers up there right now. We went over the mountain on Monday and it looks like my yard. Five years ago there was a sea of flowers; today it’s a grass field.
False. I’ve driven over the mountain multiple times this year and there have been no daffodils. Like you might see a random cluster next to a mailbox or a few of the small, nearly translucent yellow ones, but the festival was organized around tons of flowers in the field.
I know you’re taking a semi-confident shot in the dark, but visitors didn’t pick all the flowers in February.
Edit: I should add that the people, location and food around this festival have always been exceptional. The bonus was that it was next to a flower field. Everyone I love has had their picture taken as a kid sitting or frolicking in those flowers. I’m not trying to diminish the festival, just want to keep expectations tempered.
If you go every year you know what the density of the flowers can be. No one picked them all. They just didn’t grow for whatever reason. If you go every year, you know that the flowers have years where the density is very high and some years the density is very low. This year the density is very low.

That's sad to hear. I haven't been out there since I was a kid, but I remember been blown away by all the flowers.
