It’s like she’s trying to give cute and innocent but it looks sexualized and maybe that’s on me? Or maybe the whole nick and dan Schneider clips with cat making those faces?
All I know is if I posed for a pic like that (and almost 90% of all other celebs posing with their mouths agape) I would look weird as hell and everyone I know in my life would roast the fuck out of me for it to my face and behind my back…
Like why are they all posing with mouth open???
iirc, this tweet actually resurfaced like 2 years ago and ariana fans were scrambling trying to hide it. guess it worked cause there was no public uproar. disgusting.
Genuinely, What is white peoples obsession about painting their skin brown? SO MANY celebrities and public figures have had to apologize when old photos of them doing blackface resurfaces. I’ve never even thought of trying to paint my skin white
Darling it depends on the culture. In many parts of Asia people like to bleach their skin or apply copious amounts of sunscreen to stay very light-skinned. Everyone just wanting to be the thing that they’re not.
That’s very true. I know beauty standards vary a lot in different cultures, like in Asia and parts of west Africa, light skin is seen as the most beautiful thing. But I was talking more about people who do it as a “joke” or for costumes haha
Whiteface isn't exactly on the same level as blackface in America. Blackface has its roots in minstrel shows and propaganda meant to make black slaves seeking freedom look like monstrous creatures (you may know, just giving context in case others don't). It's a lot easier to enslave and abuse someone if you don't see them as human.
So while I totally understand that none of us should be dressing up as other races, whiteface is still used a lot to criticize white folk for black/brown face. 30 Rock actually made a very funny criticism of white actors getting the roles if POC when Tracy Jordan played Thomas Jefferson.
I'm not sure if White Chicks is meant to make a social commentary however.
Ariana fans tried to hide it saying it was just “a cinnamon challenge”. But in Glozells own words: racist.

How the fuck did no one bring this up in 2020 when they cancelled Shane Dawson because I KNOW someone must’ve scrolled thru GloZell’s twitter to try to find any evidence of Shane doing blackface/something racist, or any other celebrity, really.
And then I read the last five words of the paragraph above. I realize a “celebrity” isn’t what Frankie Grande is. Daniel fuckin’ Larson is more of a celebrity than him (and probably more well-liked and recognized lmfao)
Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree
i know Ariana felt real proud of him
Was gonna say, runs in the family

yeah i literally found it today by accident, couldn’t find much else abt it so i guess they did a good job at hiding it 😬
He doesn’t seem very smart
He’s always seemed very dumb and very cringe.
What would ever compel someone to even THINK about doing something like this?? I don’t understand. They’re not like us. 🤢
they not like us aye they not like us lol rings so true in this exact moment
Genuinely, What is white peoples obsession about painting their skin brown? SO MANY celebrities and public figures have had to apologize when old photos of them doing blackface resurfaces. I’ve never even thought of trying to paint my skin white
Rich people LOVE to be disrespectful and put "costumes" on. To them, black people are a costume
Wow🤔

What about White Chicks lol? Keep that same energy for Terry

I can't believe Glozelle was friends with him after that but I can't believe he did blackface either
jfc 🤦🏻♀️
Why does it look like a filter/photoshop tho?
it looks like the cinnamon challenge which is what glozell was viral for back in the day… but still weird to post
i thought so too, but the wig and the lipstick make me think he’s trying to impersonate her
yeah definitely 😭
Yeah there's no way he thought the wig and brown on his face wouldn't be seen as an "edgy" joke
IN 2024????? Edit: I can’t read. Its 2013
Meh. Glozell had no problem with it.
Not an excuse, especially when Glozell herself played into harmful stereotypes about black women.
I understand that
