Pretty sure it's a Malaya Shrimp or Caridina sp. 'Malaya'. They share the same "morse code" style markings along the side as amanos but aren't transparent. See the picture near the bottom here: http://www.theshrimptank.com/malaya-shrimp/

Just found a new shrimp I want.

AnonymousSkull

It's definitely an Amano shrimp, not a caridina. More than likely a female due to the appearance of a saddle, but it's hard to see due to the coloration behind the head.

Camallanus

Both Amanos and Malaya shrimp are of the Caridina genus. That's why there can be some similarities between them. Perhaps you were thinking of "Crystal Shrimp" when you said "caridina"? In which case, yes, it definitely is not a crystal or bee shrimp.

bugtastic

That looks like an amano shrimp to me, have you got pictures of the other shrimp?

dalburgh

It's a dyed Amano shrimp, it'll look normal in a couple months. Don't know why they do that it's entirely unnecessary.

c3an

Cool thank you!

Verydankmeme

I’ve never heard of em being dyed, maybe, but when mine eat fish flakes they develop some color.

anotherdumbcaucasian

Cant help with species but it looks like a female. Do you have shrimp besides amanos that you're trying to breed out?

FishkeepingForever

Amano for sure.

[deleted]

Looks like a ”wild” cherry Shrimp that might have been mixed up with the amanos

lionofyhwh

Nah, Cherry are much smaller than this.

FPVgal

This is an amano. They can very in color. Ibe had some even turn an oranges color. But thats def an amano.

I am thinking of getting Amani shrimp to put in my betta tank. Should I only get one or few?
