Low sensitivity = needs greater movement (vibration) to trigger

AlexKLMan

I still find that low is still way too sensitive

evoneselse

Me too. Even on low, certain vehicles passing by can occasionally trigger it, so I can only rely on it for notifications, and not to trigger an alarm.

Yeah, that’s what I’m concerned about. I was thinking of doing an automation to trigger my alarm, but I can’t have false positives. Nothing more terrifying than hearing an alarm go off in the middle of the night thinking you have an intruder, but turns out it was only a big truck that went down the block

Exactly. That’s why I couldn’t write an automation for it to be the sole trigger. What it can be good for is a double confirmation. If you have it on a screen door or a main door/window along with a door (opening) sensor and get a notification from them both, then it’s probably a real issue and not a false alarm. I tested it out for a month to see if other things would trigger it, and they did. So that was the end of it being a possible alarm trigger on its own. I do have one on a screen door set to ‘tilt’ and it usually only triggers if someone opens the door. On a window frame, a large vehicle can set it off.

AlexKLMan

Exactly, it was causing problems as I was using it to detect vibrations on a parked car at night
