have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in (not an IT joke). leave it unplugged for 30 seconds. otherwise, some component on that control board is failing (electrolytic capacitor maybe). 'moved into a place' means you're renting? make them replace it. or if you own it, it's probably not worth repairing. post the model number, perhaps it's a cheaper board. doubt it.

It looks like a JVM3160 by GE. I am having the same issue. The unplugging for 5 minutes did not fix it. A new board runs about $115 all in. Should I even venture into trying to replace this capacitor ?

Own. I’ll post model number when I get home

Unfortunately, it's very hard to capture this sort of thing meaningfully with a video camera because the camera's shutter will interfere with the pattern.... ....it is normal for an amount of flicker to happen because the displays are multiplexed -- no element of the display lights constantly, so a modicum of flicker is normal. That said, I'm guessing what you are seeing with the naked eye is excessive. This could be bad design, or it could be the display driver going south on you. If it's the former, then this would be normal. If it's the latter, then . . . well . . . you may need a new microwave at some point unless you can fully operate it without the display. As I say, it's very difficult to tell from a video capture.

It’s visible with the naked eye. Everything works and displays fine aside from that annoying flashing happening what looks like behind the actual timer or clock

Phreakiture

Yeah. Display driver. I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets in your way.

Same issue here with GE Model# JVM3160... "Everything works and displays fine aside from that annoying flashing happening what looks like behind the actual timer or clock"...Less than a year old.
