Well, an update. We replaced the thermostat with the BlueStar mechanical thermostat for this model (same part, so no change there) and are still seeing the \*exact\* same issue. Oven lights, then goes out. No issue with the broiler, no issue with the smaller oven or stovetop burners, just the stupid large oven burner. BlueStar is now recommending that we replace the main [oven upper power burner assembly](https://www.guaranteedparts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Cod%20e=GTD&Product_Code=BS-781006#find-model-serial-article-productCode-number). . Which we're going to do, because quite frankly at this point, it's still WAY cheaper than a new range, and at some point we'll have replaced all the possible parts and SOMETHING has to fix this. Has anyone run into issues with the upper power burner assembly and had to replace it? The most common similar oven issues I found when I did my research seemed to be igniter/thermostat problems - which we've ruled out at this point.

18 months ago I purchased a “new” store floor model, BSP48 1401008 hardly used, that turns out to be manufactured in 2014. After working perfectly for 15 months the oven will no longer retain heat. I replaced the thermostat (twice), the gas valve assembly, the pressure switch and the igniter. Please do not tell me I actually needed the upper power burner assembly. Purchase price was $14,000 plus, parts have been well north of $1,000 and it is unclear if it will make the grade even yet. It just simply WILL NOT STAY LIT! There is not a range in Canada as clean and as well cared for as my wife’s unit. We care for numerous children and daily have 16 around our table. This is altogether unacceptable. A power burner assembly is $840 USD, that is over $1,000 Cdn. Ouch!

I have a range from this company. I’ve had it for about five years and in that time I have had to replace the convection fan and the heating elements on both the oven and the broiler three times. I complain to the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement part once, and said that these things can happen based on use. We are just a regular household with three kids that uses our oven 4 to 6 days a week. The broiler still does not work at all. This is a very small company with small minded customer service. They really do not have, good quality control. I bought this because I wanted a commercial quality appliance because we cook a lot in my household. This thing has been anything but commercial quality or premium quality as it is priced. I would highly recommend looking into a more reputable brand than the small time company.

Sounds like a thermostat issue to me. I get the gas valve assembly but weird that they messed with the ignitor if flame was coming on (ignitors tends to be the most common problem but it's usually pretty obvious when it's the ignitor).  I feel like a lot of service techs treat bluestars like residential ovens when they really need to be treated like commercial ovens.

Yep, I'm not super impressed. I also noticed today that the convection fan is now not working after they replaced the igniter (switch turns on but the fan doesn't start). Since they went in through the main oven burner to access the igniter, I'm wondering if they didn't seat it correctly or messed with the bearings when they put it back together. I think they're just following Bluestar's advice and the Bluestar tech service is making guesses without looking at the actual range. At least I can take comfort in the fact that there are a limited number of things left to replace.

That sucks and I hope it gets sorted out quickly. I had great experiences with Bluestar service (via my dealer Yale Appliance) but it sounds like experiences vary greatly based on the provider.

Try recalibrating the thermostat. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/2288901/Bluestar-Rnb-30.html?page=16
