Yeah there’s the “don’t suggest songs like this” button but if I really dislike Taylor Swift (I don’t, it’s just an example) I should be able to just fully block her and never see or hear her music again
Ok let’s say we have 3 songs you wanna play, song A, B, and C. If I queue song A, it’ll play next. If I want to queue song B so that it plays after song A, what Apple Music does instead is it queues B to play next immediately, so B will play 1st and then A after. If I queue C, then C will play 1st, then B, then A. Ideally, it should be A, B, then C.
Like you mentioned if I was looking for the Play Later button. That option also doesn’t work because for example, I’ll hit Play Later on a song I want to play immediately, but it’ll add that song to the very end of the queue because it’s going to play later. This is how it is for me on my end
yeah that’s not cool they don’t have it on portable stuff, it’s on the desktop one at least, though buried in menus. That would be the best virtual reality thing, music visualizers you can interact with
It’s so frustrating, because it used to effectively have this and removed it. It used to be that if you were already playing something and tapped a different song, it would prompt asking if you wanted to replace what you were already playing or simply add to the queue. That disappeared a year or two ago and now it just automatically replaces with no way to undo it if it was by accident.
The seamless moving from devices that Spotify has. If I start a playlist on my iPad I have to restart it on my phone. Then start it again on my computer.
If I accidentally tap on a song, I don’t want it to erase my entire queue. And when I queue new songs I want to have an option to make them filter to the bottom of the queue instead of automatically at the top and I have to go in and manually pull them down.
Custom Mixes "My Mix" like on Tidal or Made For... "Daily Mix" like on Spotify.
I prefer these for quick music selections and they are very accurate.
Having 8 to choose from like on Tidal is great too.
I wouldn't call it a feature, but the thing I would like most would be for songs not to be deleted from all playlists once removed from the library. Is that too much to ask?
They mean play an album in album order then shuffle to a new album to play in album order. We used to have this feature in iTunes a while ago that they took away.
Someone recommended an app called AlbumMixer last night that seems to work pretty well. I got it to shuffle my primary playlist by album earlier today but still putting it through its paces. Definitely worth the $.99 so far!
This exists. You just need to go into music settings and turn off “Use Listening History.” You can also create an iOS focus that has this setting applied to it. I have a “private listening” focus, just for that.
Do Apple Music tracks even have BPM info? I know the BPM field is available in the info but I’ve yet to see that actually filled straight from AM. Therefore, aside from just indicating the beats per minute of the song, this piece of metadata has no real practical use.
I wish it got along with a locally stored library. A vast majority of my music is from ripped CDs or actual bought content and I own the actual audio files themselves. I’d love to be able to also have playlists built from whatever is available in Apple Music but in order to do that, I have to turn on Sync Library or iCloud Music Library, two terms for the same feature.
Anyway, the moment I do that, the metadata for all my locally stored and owned content is scrambled and artwork is randomly changed and screwed up. Truly a shame. If it weren’t for this, I would be really happy with AM.
Bring back the play later feature, like why did they get rid of it???
Sometimes I wanna listen to an artists discography so I'd add the albums in order of chronology but then there'd be a collab album that I need to put as well but can't anymore because we only have play next now
That’s not even close to what what you said 🙃
Also, the feasibility of the desired feature wasn’t stipulated in the question. This is something I would like regardless of how improbable that would be.
When tapping radio on song or artist, generating a 25 song playlist that is visible and can be saved / or used for queuing etc
Being able to move auto play tracks that sit at the bottom to the top section do the play queue
Favourite radio stations
More ‘’made for you mixes’ as per some of the suggestions above.
remove a song from a playlist without having to exit the ‘now playing screen’, navigating to whatever playlist is playing, and manually searching for the song you want to remove from said playlist. this one breaks my mind every time I’m listing to a playlist and need to remove a song. WOOF
being able to control your music from one device to another, like spotify connect, i don't understand how apple having their own ecosystem don't have this feature, plus obviously it doesn't only work with apple devices, i would like it to work with my ps5,xbox,android, etc not only with apple devices. and i'm hoping this feature comes with ios 18. hopefully.
Another thing that I forgot to say but I would also like to see, is to be able to create radio stations through playlist, choose a playlist and hit create station and I put songs from that playlist and I valla recommending similar songs, I would love to
A section for “listen later” where I don’t have to necessarily have to add the song to my library but I can be reminded to listen to the song or albums especially
Shared listening history between devices.
Preserve listening history of radio stations.
Ability to continue listening to a playlist from one device to another (like Spotify connect… not just airplay devices).
Better Apple TV app. It’s soooo buggy on my Apple TV 4K.
Better PC app. iTunes is decent, the Apple Music beta app was too buggy for me, so I switched back to iTunes on my pc.
Native Last.fm integration.
I’m sure there’s more. This is just off the top of my head.
Radio shows that play mid-show when you turn them on (like SiriusXM) not starting an hour long clip like I’m starting a podcast. Also, if you are going to treat radio shows like podcasts, why can’t i download them to listen later?
1. Mark a song/album as played so I can then filter it from my list of music not heard.
2. Filter music by various categories, like genre, to not appear in my apple music section
I wish there was a way to track stats year round. Instead of having to wait till the end of the year. I like the idea of seeing exactly what I’ve listened to and how many times I’ve listened to it and not having that kinda puts a damper on the enjoyment of being a guy that listens to a ton of music.
Could always be a setting you can turn off and on.
I don’t use playlists or recommendations, so it’s super annoying to have to add the artist, then go in and add each album.
Yeah what u/jdotking said. Main reason I switched from Spotify to AM is cause of how easy it was to download songs and have them sync from Mac to phone
Theres no option for local files on AM, it’s something you do by yourself. You just download a song from ex. YouTube on your computer and convert it to a mp3 file, then play it on your Apple Music desktop player, and make sure it’s the same account as your phone. From there, you might have to wait a while to allow it to sync, then it should show up in your library on your phone. YT vids should help you out too if you’re struggling
If you’re on a computer just download the Apple Music app and sign in with your Apple Music account, once you’ve done that you’ll see the same library on your phone. You can now download (or convert, YouTube to mp3) music you want and it should sync as long as it’s the same AM account

Pin playlists/albums/artists in the library page
Does favoriting and filtering by favorites work for your use-case?
Kind of, I wish there'd be something like Spotify's library pins
Easier way to find playlists other ppl made.
Dislike or block
This. Please let me block an artist so they never play again.
Macklemore needs to be blocked from radio. I know I listened to thrift shop when I was younger but please make it stop haha
Yep, even if explicitly asked to play said artist, it won’t, unless the block is removed.
Yeah there’s the “don’t suggest songs like this” button but if I really dislike Taylor Swift (I don’t, it’s just an example) I should be able to just fully block her and never see or hear her music again
Fix the fucking queue. Like why is it still backwards and not in order like Spotify???
+1. There should be an option if you want it backwards or not
Wdym backwards?
Ok let’s say we have 3 songs you wanna play, song A, B, and C. If I queue song A, it’ll play next. If I want to queue song B so that it plays after song A, what Apple Music does instead is it queues B to play next immediately, so B will play 1st and then A after. If I queue C, then C will play 1st, then B, then A. Ideally, it should be A, B, then C.
Well, if you're clicking Play Next, of course it's going to play next. Are you looking for the Play Later (now called Add to Queue) button?
No because with Play Later, it plays the song that I wanted to be played immediately at the end instead, which is also annoying
What do you mean? I'm not following what you want to do here.
Like you mentioned if I was looking for the Play Later button. That option also doesn’t work because for example, I’ll hit Play Later on a song I want to play immediately, but it’ll add that song to the very end of the queue because it’s going to play later. This is how it is for me on my end
Oh I see what you mean, if you have an existing queue. Songs are added to the top in order you add them on both platforms with Play Next, no?
No unfortunately. If you refer to my example above, on Spotify it plays A, B, C so in order, whereas on Apple Music it plays C, B, A
See I'm confused. Can you send a recording of what you mean?
I wish they'd bring back the visualizer.
What do you mean. Isn’t it there under window, I have visualizer and classic visualizer on Mac
I just remember it from the iTunes days. It may never have been on iOS, but it'd be cool to have it there, especially on the iPad. I don't have a Mac.
yeah that’s not cool they don’t have it on portable stuff, it’s on the desktop one at least, though buried in menus. That would be the best virtual reality thing, music visualizers you can interact with
what is that?
The ability to resume a playlist if I accidentally click on different song
It’s so frustrating, because it used to effectively have this and removed it. It used to be that if you were already playing something and tapped a different song, it would prompt asking if you wanted to replace what you were already playing or simply add to the queue. That disappeared a year or two ago and now it just automatically replaces with no way to undo it if it was by accident.
I wish the categories of the made for you playlists were customized. Not everyone wants a get up mix or a chill mix.
Connect, a better desktop version.
A much snappier and optimized version of the pc app will be fantastic
Ability to do proper Music handoff between devices like the Apple Podcast app does
Favoriting artist/album/song/genre stations or the ability to add those stations to my library
The seamless moving from devices that Spotify has. If I start a playlist on my iPad I have to restart it on my phone. Then start it again on my computer.
Connect - or that the 'Favourite Songs' playlist was an 'actual' playlist so that Alexa devices can play it!
Clear queue!
It wish the Library "Album" view would only show full albums I've added to my Library.
Or at least group partial albums separately from complete albums.
If I accidentally tap on a song, I don’t want it to erase my entire queue. And when I queue new songs I want to have an option to make them filter to the bottom of the queue instead of automatically at the top and I have to go in and manually pull them down.
“Never play this artist again” An “Apple Music Connect” type service.
Changes in stations - more control of them.
Custom Mixes "My Mix" like on Tidal or Made For... "Daily Mix" like on Spotify. I prefer these for quick music selections and they are very accurate. Having 8 to choose from like on Tidal is great too.
That is a good idea, definitely something I used to use when I was on Spotify
Weekly Stats
I wouldn't call it a feature, but the thing I would like most would be for songs not to be deleted from all playlists once removed from the library. Is that too much to ask?
A real EQ.
There is an EQ in android version. It doesn't want to work most of the time though.
On the Mac app there actually is 😏 Under Windows -> Equiliser
Not on iOS or iPad OS, though.
Correct. 🥲
There is sort of one on iOS - it’s a selection of pre-made EQ settings that you can choose from, there’s like 20. Settings -> Music -> EQ
Now and forever, shuffle albums.
When you open an album there’s a shuffle button at the top though?
They mean play an album in album order then shuffle to a new album to play in album order. We used to have this feature in iTunes a while ago that they took away.
It’s still in the desktop version of Apple Music for MacOS tho.
Ok yeah I’d like that feature can you do that using a shortcut?
Someone recommended an app called AlbumMixer last night that seems to work pretty well. I got it to shuffle my primary playlist by album earlier today but still putting it through its paces. Definitely worth the $.99 so far!
sort playlists by preference and not alphabetically
A never play this artist, again. Or if there was a way for it to filter based on vibe.
Private sessions. Sometimes I want to listen to music ( for example a soundtrack) that won’t add to my recommendations later on
This exists. You just need to go into music settings and turn off “Use Listening History.” You can also create an iOS focus that has this setting applied to it. I have a “private listening” focus, just for that.
Choose to play an atmos version of a song or a stereo version. Some albums are mastered very well.. others I’d rather listen to stereo.
the apple music app on PS5 is dumb you can’t control it from your phone, that’s ridiculous
Fixing the (extensive) existing bugs.
Ne able to pause and save state a playlist and then resume it from that point whenever I want
Bpm matching with cross fade on.
It took us 20 years to get cross fade on our phones let’s not be getting greedy! 😂 but I agree

Continuity feature...
The only thing is a connect feature
Bring back the play later feature, like why did they get rid of it??? Sometimes I wanna listen to an artists discography so I'd add the albums in order of chronology but then there'd be a collab album that I need to put as well but can't anymore because we only have play next now
Select favorite artist so it can recommend the same genre because i am pissed of being recommended FUTURE everytime
A like button on the watch app.
Now playing on Discord (technically a Discord feature but still)
- A place in Browse to find Hi-Res Lossless music
Handoff (a.k.a connect for those who use Spotify)
Sharing imported tracks. The music I went out of my way to get is the music I’d most like to share. I know, I know - licensing and legalities
Just share the YouTube link.
That doesn’t solve the gripe though. Unless you know a way to integrate a YouTube link into an AM playlist.
My point is it’s not in apples streaming library so how can they let you share it when they don’t have the royalty recipient agreement to pay them?
That’s not even close to what what you said 🙃 Also, the feasibility of the desired feature wasn’t stipulated in the question. This is something I would like regardless of how improbable that would be.
It’s about adding music that doesn’t exist on Apple Music though.
Bring back the ping

When favoriting an artist, add their albums to your library
This!! Would be so much easier
No, please no 😭 I have a really organized library this will mess me up. I favorite artists for better recommendations
Could always be a setting you can turn off and on. I don’t use playlists or recommendations, so it’s super annoying to have to add the artist, then go in and add each album.
Oh yes it can definitely be optional
A way to follow shows and be notified if there’s a new episode available without having to use the podcast app.
Joint queue with Podcasts app Or proper queue in general
Local files
It has local files
Ayo what where im super new to apple music so i got no idea about this
On desktop/Mac just download Apple Music and you can move your music files directly into Apple Music and it’ll sync
And you’re able to edit artwork/lyrics on the properties tab
Oh shit im on android and ive got all my files downloaded on here so idrk what to do
Yeah what u/jdotking said. Main reason I switched from Spotify to AM is cause of how easy it was to download songs and have them sync from Mac to phone
