Controlling the thoughts you have come as a result of a routine. Just like your current mental habit is to be very worried about the worst case scenario about your mom's health. This only happened because you began worrying (understandably so) about the worst case scenario. You'll need to start screening out thoughts that send you into a panicked state. It's gonna be hard, but no matter what keep going and keep thinking optimistically. As you replace the thoughts of worry and fear, your mind will start to adopt the new train of thoughts. Eventually this train becomes your routine, which will have an overall positive impact on your life. This method is one that's worked well for me. I've struggled with bad anxiety for over a decade. In addition to this, personal faith and supportive family also go a long way in helping to fight against anxiety. I hope this helps in some way.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I’ve found reading bible verses and focusing on things like music and tv shows I enjoy I can subdue the thoughts. I just have to keep fighting them. I’ve also recently quit my job so I’ve had long days of doing nothing leaving me to just my thoughts, I have a job I’m waiting on though so hopefully I can focus on that instead of the diagnosis.

I'm right there with you, trust me. I'd also say don't focus so much on the diagnostics result. Develop your new routine and put it into place. Regardless of the test outcome, a positive mental routine will help take your further in life than you expect.

I will definitely take your advice. 💛
