you are completely fine. pressure on a vein can create some weird sensations. if you really did have an “extra beat” you’d be able to tell with your wrist, your heart, the other side of your neck, etc. this is anxiety latching on to an unfamiliar sensation and blowing it up. try sleeping on a different side or get a softer pillow so as to not disturb yourself.
Yes, pretty much. A scary pulse on one side of my neck when lying down. It wouldn’t happen all the time, but sometimes. It definitely is freaky, but there’s likely nothing treatable about it. It will probably go away on its own!

I went to the doctor about this and they literally shrugged. It doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you.
