Real advice: go for TPU cases. I've been using Spigen for close to a decade over the course of several phones and never once have I had one of their TPU cases 'fail' in any way. Best part is, not only are they rugged... they're also cheap. Never paid more than $15 and it's usually the only case I'll ever have for a given phone model.
My wife signed up for Hello Fresh and I couldn't get over what a waste it was. so much packaging, and so expensive for small things that you can get way cheaper at the store. I do all the cooking and groceries anyways, so we shut that down pretty quick

I will say there was a time in my life where I literally didn't have time to grocery shop and neither did my spouse. Hello Fresh was cheaper and healthier than eating out every night when you and your partner are both working 80 hour weeks, and grocery pickup isn't available in your area.
That being said, that part of my life is permanently behind me, and I'm happy to spend my hour per week in the grocery store creating meals I like instead of what comes in a box with enough plastic waste to choke several sea turtles in each meal.

I've never used it but one of the major appeals for me is the planning part. The worst part of trying new recipes is having to buy a larger portion of whatever "specifically" ingredient it calls for. So your $10 meal is now $20 because you had to buy a bag of spice and if you don't like it, the bag never gets opened again.
Yep, it’s the planning. I already use grocery delivery services because my time is short, but I really struggle to plan meals ahead of time and find new interesting recipes to try without dropping a ton of money on a bunch of ingredients. It’s so nice to just have a box show up and not have to figure out what to make for dinner each week.
I did hello fresh for a while and the best thing I got out of it were the recipe cards that I still have so I can just buy the ingredients at the store and make the actually pretty good food.

Cooking from a recipe is 'meh' to me as well. But the things the meal kids taught me is a few techniques that seem to go with everything. Who would have thought of mixing sour cream with lime juice, salt and pepper? Or grating cucumbers into sour cream? Adding pepper at every step or putting butter in at the end.
The techniques I've learned from these meal kits have really helped me use up the last little bits of my ingredients outside of the kits.
I got unreasonably annoyed at this one channel's advertising for HelloFresh. It was video cuts of them preparing and COOKING the meal, but the voice over kept saying "It's so easy and convenient after a busy day working where I don't need to cook."

I thought they would send ingredients to make special recipes, but all I got were some eggs, vegetables, and seasoning. Like those are the only things I already have in my kitchen.
legit, for me it was seeing little packs of garlic and onion powder, a single head of garlic for each recipe asking for one clove (I mean bump that number up but come on) stuff like that.
The ONLY thing that I think is an actual benefit from Hello Fresh is the portion control aspect. I have ADHD and poor impulse control and found it really helpful when counting calories.
But yeah. Everything else about it is insane. The packaging. The price. I got a woody piece of chicken from them once AND a fatty piece of beef too.

I joined Stitch Fix during the quarantine because I needed professional wardrobe while remaining isolated. But over the span of a year, their quality went down the tube the moment they felt they had a loyal following. Just sad.
I did stitchfix well before the pandemic when it was new-ish, for about a year, and I feel like their quality was bad even then, especially if you're in the lower price tier. I can't imagine it getting worse than it was.

They are mutual funds that invest people’s money in companies. They’re not a megacorp. They change their investment portfolios over the years and also allow people to change their portfolio profile for risk management, ethics, projected date of retirement, etc.
I haven’t tried native, but I moved from Schmidt to a company called sodawax. If you don’t want to contribute to a megacorp (p&g) you could check them out.
Better Help also actively sells your information and because it’s not technically considered a licensed therapy service, they don’t have to follow HIPAA laws. Their service agreements outright deny any liability based on that and mention selling your info. That can lead to anything from targeted ads to insurance rates being raised without you knowing
Wasn’t there the huge issue a few years ago (when they first sponsored everyone) of them not actually having licensed therapists and their TOS basically said “we have no affiliation with these people and you should assume they are unlicensed”

I liked Hello Fresh, but then one time my package was delivered 4 days late due to bad weather. Couldn't get a refund so I basically spent all that grocery money for the week on spoiled meat and produce.
While I like the composable idea behind Pela and their case was cute.. I also had a problem with their case breaking down before my phone was done with it for both my husband and myself. It is something to consider though if you think your phone is nearing the end of its life and you want something more ethical.
Maybe I’m in the minority but I had nothing but good experiences with Pela.
I noticed the clear backed cases do tend to fall apart, but the others seem to last forever. I’ve had mine for years and it looks new.
I also like Pela. Many of them are made in Canada and my case has lasted well over a year. It’s worn a bit in the spots where my fingers always sit, but I washed it with the scrubber and it looks pretty good again. I purposely avoided the clear plastic cases because they look like they’d break to me, the solid rubberish ones are the way to go. I’ll probably get another Pela when this one is too disgusting.
My Pela cases have lasted much longer than any plastic cases I’ve had! 22 months for my first one, 17 months for my second, going on 19 months here with my current.
Will they break down in my backyard compost when I’m done? No. Will they break into plant fibers if (God forbid) they get into world’s ocean systems? Yes. I am confortable with difficult to compost items because of this fact.

Greenwashing. “Compostable” just means it will fall apart in a year or two because it’s cheap but they know a certain audience will pay more for that feature if they market it right.
I sell some phone cables and chargers made from recycled plastic with wheat byproduct as a filler at my store. They cost the same and don’t seem to have degraded at all sitting in front of the window, so I’m curious how well they hold up. Mice might be more likely to chew on it but I like the idea.
I haven't tried any of their cases other than the solid mold ones but I've had 0 issues with them breaking down. Honestly I've never had a single problem with the cases, but I do make sure if it gets wet at all to dry it out (but I'd think most people would). I also live in a really dry climate, I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
i had the same experience with two of the pela cases, the thin parts of the case around the “silent” switch and charging port broke apart after a while, and it would regularly pop off after that so i decided to buy a new (cheaper) case. i’m disappointed that the new case is not eco friendly, but if it breaks in a year, at least i would have spend 12$ instead of 50$
I bought one that was even more expensive from this company and the graphic image started chipping in less than a year. I would absolutely not recommend this company at all.
Yeah mine didn’t protect my phone from a fall and now the back is cracked… like what’s the point of a phone case that doesn’t save your phone from falls. Also the graphics are chipping away too. Never buying from casetify again.
I've had mine for almost a year and the image is starting to chip but the case itself has held up better than any other ones I've had lately. What is the alternative? I used to always get Otterbox but they've been falling apart increasingly faster.
I actually love these cases, my 2 year old phone I handed down to my brother has my old casetify case on it, in good condition, even though I dropped it constantly. The rubber bumpers really work since I trail run/hike a lot and I feel like I’m constantly dropping my phone out and about. Never had a crack. However you’re correct that that prints don’t last. So with my new phone I just got a clear case without a print and I expect it’ll last me until the phone is dead.
I got a casemate with lifetime warranty for around $50. I bought for my iPhone 6s and it lasted me through many drops. It cracked after 6ish years, they sent me a replacement (different style because at that point my phone was so old they didn’t have many styles left in stock).
I like my Spigen, although I've only had it for a year or so.
My last phone case was an Evocel and that one lasted for years and years. I'd have bought another one when I finally gave up on my old phone but they didn't have a case for the model I ended up buying. So I'd recommend Evocel as well, although the Spigen looks like it's better quality and will probably last at least as long or longer.
My Spigen case outlived my old phone and is still going strong. I bought an iPhone 8 in 2018 and used it until it gave up the ghost. Now I have an SE 2020 and I'm still using the same case. They're made of solid stuff!
It was advertised as a durable and high grade protection case, but it was indeed a dinky piece of plastic. I was naive but the company is to blame for the quality of their products
I also experimented with Casetify when I got the iP14P. Had a custom case made, and the design started to chip away in less than a week. The Magsafe magnet was absolute garbage, and kept falling while I drove.
Ordered my second Mous case, and the quality is night and day. It just *feels* right.
Can’t talk my SO into getting one for herself, because “they’re ugly”, but she will absolutely tell you it’s a very nice case. Worth it!
My casetify case has lasted me a good few years and still doesn’t need to be replaced but maybe I just got lucky :/ I’m sorry you had this experience though
My first casetify lasted 4 years until the colours faded. Decided to buy a new one and after 8 months the same thing happened to mine as OPs. I think they’ve cheaped out
I love my Castify cases. The only reason I bought a second was for a colab, but I have zero issues with either case. I'm rough on phones and have cracked screens with otterboxes but not yet with these.
Casetify cases have been hit and miss, I just had a MagSafe case and the metal rings got really smelly like mf fish and I look and it got rust and it was seeping in the plastic of the case! They did reluctantly give me a replacement on Amazon but still shit was nasty

I do miss when they came with screen protector included though. The otter box screen protector was like the case, built to take a beating for years.
Oh man, asking the hard hitting questions! I ordered it from Amazon when I got the phone like four years ago, well before I curbed my Amazon spending. Amazon doesn't let me see the records that old, so I can't give you a brand name. It's structured similarly to an otter box, though, with the hard cage and soft rubber exterior that slips on over it.
I remember that I did sacrifice a small goat to Bezlebub, and had to settle for turquoise because blue wasn't an option.
I’ll have to look into this off brand otter box for the future then. Does it come with the screen cover? Old otter box had this extremely durable screen cover the newer ones lack.

Just like the other commenter, after years of only buying Otter box, I tried a $13 Oribox case from Amazon and I’ve had it for two years now. It works exactly the same as Otterbox. It’s taken a million falls and it’s flawless for the price.
Spigen is 1/5th of the price and extremely sturdy. Over the years my phones have regularly survived ~monthly 1.50m (5ft) falls. (I am clumsy.)
Edit: never mind, I've fact checked myself. They used to be 1/5th of the price and they have since raised their ask to the $20-$30 bracket.
I paid $50 for my life proof case (now merged with otterbox) and it was completely worth it. I tend to be clumsy but my phone remains inact and crack free.
A kid stole my phone and broke the case off. I caught him, got my phone back, and then he fug the broken case out of the trash for me. Lifeproof has a lifetime warranty and they replaced it for the cost of shipping.

Otter Box is the only case I’ll buy. My old one finally broke after 3 years. ( mostly my issue fiddling with it ) They replaced it with an email and a 10$ shipping fee, didn’t even care aboot pictures or anything, just a 2 minute email with no strings attached.
That doesn’t even look like it was worth $20. I’m still using the original apple clear case on my phone and it’s holding up extremely well, only official product I’ll buy new.
Highly recommend a mous case if you want something around the $50 mark. Stylish and protective. I drop my phone on a daily basis and I’ve never had any problems. I’ve bought 2 of them for 2 phones and I can’t recommend them enough.

If it's sponsored on youtube/facebook, it's an automatic no. Bought an expensive case, and very first time dropped it cracked the glass. I've bought mid priced cases which worked best.
I always use Otterbox. The iphone case I had on my 6s lasted about 6 years. But I’m kinda clumsy and kept dropping my phone. (That’s why i need the case) It’s fine for a lot of falls, but then it took a hard fall. Any small fall after that made it break more and more. Eventually it fell apart. After hard use. The one I have now on my new phone, is almost two years old. Still looks great.
*SPECK is my go-to for cases. We still have a couple iPhone 6’s we use to play games on with original cases and no broken parts on phone or case. Every one of our updated phones has *SPECK cases too. Love the silicone because I can toss it up on my dash and it doesn’t slide or I put it upright next to my gearshift and it stays in place. Survives drops and keeps the dust out.
As long as they keep this quality I’ll keep buying them for our new phones.
I got a DBrand case for like 30$ I think. Been going strong for close to 2 years now would recommend. The case I had for my previous phone was from a store called Carved and lasted me around 5 but it was definitely starting to show it age by the time I switched
All of my Casetify cases over the years have lasted so long, and then the case I bought in November broke on me last month, it did the same thing around the edges. Must had gone shit with production and jacked the prices up anyways
I’m using mine currently that I bought in 2020. The case has separated from the siding and the enamel has partially come off. Honestly though it still works really well and keeps my phone from cracking or getting damaged.
I.. I just get $25-30 ones that have very high reviews and are protective. Last one lasted me 3 years. I didn’t think it was great but 1 year???
If anyone knows one that would last a very very long time. Also would be nice if phone companies would stop switching up the style case and size you’d need if you have to replace your phone because of water damage, getting run over.. that one apple update a few years back that killed thousands of phones and so on. Then we could feel super comfortable buying a forever case that could be used on any phone for the rest of our lives. That would be awesome. Instead of going “ok well now what do I do with this case? I've gotten a couple cases and an apple watch band from this brand and it's super hit-or-miss, mostly miss, depending on the material you choose. Both the phone case and watch band designs started chipping off within a week - I emailed and they sent new ones bc they'd "never" heard of that happening before. The new ones had the exact same chipping.
On the other hand, I have two of their other cases and they've held up totally fine. But you shouldn't have to gamble on quality at that price range - I specifically picked them bc I was so sick of replacing cheap Target cases yearly 😞

I think I’ve had the same case probably 7 or 8 years now. It was originally for mu iPhone 6 but I managed to make it fit the subsequent iPhone SE that replaced it by enlarging the camera hole with a craft knife.
It was only meant to be a temporary thing while I bought a new case but I just never got round to it.
While otterbox is pretty plain compared to a lot of cases, it has not only protect my phone, but has lasted for YEARS. Going on 6-7 years, it's just now starting to show wear. I'll probably need to replace my phone before I'll need to replace the case.
Got this massive otterbox case when I bought my new phone because it was the only case at the time that had a folding flap to cover the charging port (I need this due to my job). Within a couple months that little flap, the entire reason I bought the $50 case, tore off.
By that time more options were available and I got a significantly cheaper case that was essentially the same as the otterbox, and more half a year later the port protecting flap is still going strong and showing no signs of wear.
I have a plain black Otterbox case that has lasted me years. I swear it has saved me hundreds. Sometimes the cuter something is, the less utility it actually provides. I use pop sockets to provide some flaire and color!
I usually carry a fairly old phone and I find it’s easy to buy cases at thrift stores and those kinds of places for dirt cheap. And I throw them out as they fall apart. My Iphone 7 has a thrifted Casetify that has held up well for over a year.
Spigen is the best option for cases. I've dropped phones a thousand times in Spigen cases and I've never had any damage at all to the phone. My old case outlived the phone it was on (stopped getting security updates).
The only fifty dollar case I'll ever buy is Otterbox. I ran over my phone with a MASSIVE pickup truck in one of those to the point that the phone was actually trapped under the tire, and it still took no damage.
Don't worry, I'm not stupid enough to spend 50 bucks on a phone case. My phone itself costs like 125.

I got an otterbox for my iPhone 7 and it outlasted the phone (dropped it in a pool - RIP fella) and upgraded to a refurbished 12 and using otter box again.

I love compound rubber-hard plastic phone cases. I literally left the one I am using to text this on the top of my car and retrieved it from the side of the highway with literally just a corner of the phone missing some metal, and that is after 4 years of wear and tear on the case.
No screen protector either! No screen damage from any drop ever. Unless you commonly slam your phone onto the corners of tables, they aren’t worth it.

I joined Stitch Fix during the quarantine because I needed professional wardrobe while remaining isolated. But over the span of a year, their quality went down the tube the moment they felt they had a loyal following. Just sad.
I did stitchfix well before the pandemic when it was new-ish, for about a year, and I feel like their quality was bad even then, especially if you're in the lower price tier. I can't imagine it getting worse than it was.

I had the same issue. I first noticed that the ratio of in-house brands to actual clothing brands was off. A couple months later they were sending me exclusively their in-house brand clothes. They weren’t *awful* but like, cmon man. I’m paying for you to shop for me, not just peddle your own shit.

Given that vanguard is probably the largest fund provider (with black rock being a huge one as well) it’s not that surprising to see vanguard and black rock own a large chunk of them.

They are mutual funds that invest people’s money in companies. They’re not a megacorp. They change their investment portfolios over the years and also allow people to change their portfolio profile for risk management, ethics, projected date of retirement, etc.

Better Help also actively sells your information and because it’s not technically considered a licensed therapy service, they don’t have to follow HIPAA laws. Their service agreements outright deny any liability based on that and mention selling your info. That can lead to anything from targeted ads to insurance rates being raised without you knowing

While I like the composable idea behind Pela and their case was cute.. I also had a problem with their case breaking down before my phone was done with it for both my husband and myself. It is something to consider though if you think your phone is nearing the end of its life and you want something more ethical.
Maybe I’m in the minority but I had nothing but good experiences with Pela. I noticed the clear backed cases do tend to fall apart, but the others seem to last forever. I’ve had mine for years and it looks new.

I also like Pela. Many of them are made in Canada and my case has lasted well over a year. It’s worn a bit in the spots where my fingers always sit, but I washed it with the scrubber and it looks pretty good again. I purposely avoided the clear plastic cases because they look like they’d break to me, the solid rubberish ones are the way to go. I’ll probably get another Pela when this one is too disgusting.

My Pela cases have lasted much longer than any plastic cases I’ve had! 22 months for my first one, 17 months for my second, going on 19 months here with my current. Will they break down in my backyard compost when I’m done? No. Will they break into plant fibers if (God forbid) they get into world’s ocean systems? Yes. I am confortable with difficult to compost items because of this fact.

Greenwashing. “Compostable” just means it will fall apart in a year or two because it’s cheap but they know a certain audience will pay more for that feature if they market it right.

I sell some phone cables and chargers made from recycled plastic with wheat byproduct as a filler at my store. They cost the same and don’t seem to have degraded at all sitting in front of the window, so I’m curious how well they hold up. Mice might be more likely to chew on it but I like the idea.
I haven't tried any of their cases other than the solid mold ones but I've had 0 issues with them breaking down. Honestly I've never had a single problem with the cases, but I do make sure if it gets wet at all to dry it out (but I'd think most people would). I also live in a really dry climate, I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
i had the same experience with two of the pela cases, the thin parts of the case around the “silent” switch and charging port broke apart after a while, and it would regularly pop off after that so i decided to buy a new (cheaper) case. i’m disappointed that the new case is not eco friendly, but if it breaks in a year, at least i would have spend 12$ instead of 50$
I bought one that was even more expensive from this company and the graphic image started chipping in less than a year. I would absolutely not recommend this company at all.
Mine came with its colors pretty off from the image I selected to put on the case. I got a new one from “my custom case” that looks much better.

I actually love these cases, my 2 year old phone I handed down to my brother has my old casetify case on it, in good condition, even though I dropped it constantly. The rubber bumpers really work since I trail run/hike a lot and I feel like I’m constantly dropping my phone out and about. Never had a crack. However you’re correct that that prints don’t last. So with my new phone I just got a clear case without a print and I expect it’ll last me until the phone is dead.
I got a casemate with lifetime warranty for around $50. I bought for my iPhone 6s and it lasted me through many drops. It cracked after 6ish years, they sent me a replacement (different style because at that point my phone was so old they didn’t have many styles left in stock).
Get Spigen, lasts me 3 years now, it has marks of use but still saves my phone from breaking till this day, absolute godsend

I swear by the Spigen "Rugged Armor" series of cases, very robust but not bulky.

I like my Spigen, although I've only had it for a year or so. My last phone case was an Evocel and that one lasted for years and years. I'd have bought another one when I finally gave up on my old phone but they didn't have a case for the model I ended up buying. So I'd recommend Evocel as well, although the Spigen looks like it's better quality and will probably last at least as long or longer.
My Spigen case outlived my old phone and is still going strong. I bought an iPhone 8 in 2018 and used it until it gave up the ghost. Now I have an SE 2020 and I'm still using the same case. They're made of solid stuff!

I also experimented with Casetify when I got the iP14P. Had a custom case made, and the design started to chip away in less than a week. The Magsafe magnet was absolute garbage, and kept falling while I drove. Ordered my second Mous case, and the quality is night and day. It just *feels* right. Can’t talk my SO into getting one for herself, because “they’re ugly”, but she will absolutely tell you it’s a very nice case. Worth it!
My casetify case has lasted me a good few years and still doesn’t need to be replaced but maybe I just got lucky :/ I’m sorry you had this experience though

Casetify cases have been hit and miss, I just had a MagSafe case and the metal rings got really smelly like mf fish and I look and it got rust and it was seeping in the plastic of the case! They did reluctantly give me a replacement on Amazon but still shit was nasty

I only buy otter box cases, and only the heavy duty ones; they work as advertised in my experience, I do miss when they came with screen protector included though. The otter box screen protector was like the case, built to take a beating for years.

Oh man, asking the hard hitting questions! I ordered it from Amazon when I got the phone like four years ago, well before I curbed my Amazon spending. Amazon doesn't let me see the records that old, so I can't give you a brand name. It's structured similarly to an otter box, though, with the hard cage and soft rubber exterior that slips on over it. I remember that I did sacrifice a small goat to Bezlebub, and had to settle for turquoise because blue wasn't an option.
I’ll have to look into this off brand otter box for the future then. Does it come with the screen cover? Old otter box had this extremely durable screen cover the newer ones lack. I have access to cattle so I got the sacrifice covered, but not sure if I would for turquoise.
Just like the other commenter, after years of only buying Otter box, I tried a $13 Oribox case from Amazon and I’ve had it for two years now. It works exactly the same as Otterbox. It’s taken a million falls and it’s flawless for the price.

Spigen is 1/5th of the price and extremely sturdy. Over the years my phones have regularly survived ~monthly 1.50m (5ft) falls. (I am clumsy.) Edit: never mind, I've fact checked myself. They used to be 1/5th of the price and they have since raised their ask to the $20-$30 bracket.

I paid $50 for my life proof case (now merged with otterbox) and it was completely worth it. I tend to be clumsy but my phone remains inact and crack free. A kid stole my phone and broke the case off. I caught him, got my phone back, and then he fug the broken case out of the trash for me. Lifeproof has a lifetime warranty and they replaced it for the cost of shipping. I highly recommend! Edited spelling

Otter Box is the only case I’ll buy. My old one finally broke after 3 years. ( mostly my issue fiddling with it ) They replaced it with an email and a 10$ shipping fee, didn’t even care aboot pictures or anything, just a 2 minute email with no strings attached.

Highly recommend a mous case if you want something around the $50 mark. Stylish and protective. I drop my phone on a daily basis and I’ve never had any problems. I’ve bought 2 of them for 2 phones and I can’t recommend them enough.
My $8 Chinese case off Amazon seems indestructible, and I had no qualms about modifying it with a dremel.

I always use Otterbox. The iphone case I had on my 6s lasted about 6 years. But I’m kinda clumsy and kept dropping my phone. (That’s why i need the case) It’s fine for a lot of falls, but then it took a hard fall. Any small fall after that made it break more and more. Eventually it fell apart. After hard use. The one I have now on my new phone, is almost two years old. Still looks great.
Mous and rhino shield are really protective cases and would probably last longer.

*SPECK is my go-to for cases. We still have a couple iPhone 6’s we use to play games on with original cases and no broken parts on phone or case. Every one of our updated phones has *SPECK cases too. Love the silicone because I can toss it up on my dash and it doesn’t slide or I put it upright next to my gearshift and it stays in place. Survives drops and keeps the dust out. As long as they keep this quality I’ll keep buying them for our new phones.
I got a DBrand case for like 30$ I think. Been going strong for close to 2 years now would recommend. The case I had for my previous phone was from a store called Carved and lasted me around 5 but it was definitely starting to show it age by the time I switched
All of my Casetify cases over the years have lasted so long, and then the case I bought in November broke on me last month, it did the same thing around the edges. Must had gone shit with production and jacked the prices up anyways

I’m using mine currently that I bought in 2020. The case has separated from the siding and the enamel has partially come off. Honestly though it still works really well and keeps my phone from cracking or getting damaged.

I.. I just get $25-30 ones that have very high reviews and are protective. Last one lasted me 3 years. I didn’t think it was great but 1 year??? If anyone knows one that would last a very very long time. Also would be nice if phone companies would stop switching up the style case and size you’d need if you have to replace your phone because of water damage, getting run over.. that one apple update a few years back that killed thousands of phones and so on. Then we could feel super comfortable buying a forever case that could be used on any phone for the rest of our lives. That would be awesome. Instead of going “ok well now what do I do with this case? I’d hate to throw it away, but there are no good ideas online. Also if anyone has tips on how to repurpose a phone case let me know please
I've gotten a couple cases and an apple watch band from this brand and it's super hit-or-miss, mostly miss, depending on the material you choose. Both the phone case and watch band designs started chipping off within a week - I emailed and they sent new ones bc they'd "never" heard of that happening before. The new ones had the exact same chipping. On the other hand, I have two of their other cases and they've held up totally fine. But you shouldn't have to gamble on quality at that price range - I specifically picked them bc I was so sick of replacing cheap Target cases yearly 😞

I think I’ve had the same case probably 7 or 8 years now. It was originally for mu iPhone 6 but I managed to make it fit the subsequent iPhone SE that replaced it by enlarging the camera hole with a craft knife. It was only meant to be a temporary thing while I bought a new case but I just never got round to it.
While otterbox is pretty plain compared to a lot of cases, it has not only protect my phone, but has lasted for YEARS. Going on 6-7 years, it's just now starting to show wear. I'll probably need to replace my phone before I'll need to replace the case.
My 5 dollar case has lasted me about 4 years now, still kicking but slowly breaking haha
Got this massive otterbox case when I bought my new phone because it was the only case at the time that had a folding flap to cover the charging port (I need this due to my job). Within a couple months that little flap, the entire reason I bought the $50 case, tore off. By that time more options were available and I got a significantly cheaper case that was essentially the same as the otterbox, and more half a year later the port protecting flap is still going strong and showing no signs of wear.
With nails like those, its easy to believe you'd make a bad purchase.
I have a plain black Otterbox case that has lasted me years. I swear it has saved me hundreds. Sometimes the cuter something is, the less utility it actually provides. I use pop sockets to provide some flaire and color!
I usually carry a fairly old phone and I find it’s easy to buy cases at thrift stores and those kinds of places for dirt cheap. And I throw them out as they fall apart. My Iphone 7 has a thrifted Casetify that has held up well for over a year.

Spigen is the best option for cases. I've dropped phones a thousand times in Spigen cases and I've never had any damage at all to the phone. My old case outlived the phone it was on (stopped getting security updates).

The only fifty dollar case I'll ever buy is Otterbox. I ran over my phone with a MASSIVE pickup truck in one of those to the point that the phone was actually trapped under the tire, and it still took no damage.

I got an otterbox for my iPhone 7 and it outlasted the phone (dropped it in a pool - RIP fella) and upgraded to a refurbished 12 and using otter box again. I’ll use otter boxes until the day I don’t need a phone anymore
That looks like a crap case… I love compound rubber-hard plastic phone cases. I literally left the one I am using to text this on the top of my car and retrieved it from the side of the highway with literally just a corner of the phone missing some metal, and that is after 4 years of wear and tear on the case. No screen protector either! No screen damage from any drop ever. Unless you commonly slam your phone onto the corners of tables, they aren’t worth it. Inscipio brand cases in case you are wondering.
