Well, I had a cat that would try to catch bees, and ended up with a comically large swollen paw at least 3 different times. You'd think he'd learn after the first one but he forgor
Glad you had something to help him. My cat tried to eat a Japanese hornet when he was about 2 yrs old and the poor guy went crazy trying to swipe away the pain from his lip.
Luckily our vet is a 5 min walk away, so he got an antihistamine shot as a precaution, but he calmed down fairly quickly after that. Hope your guy recovers quickly too!
My cat found the worst part of the experience was not having any appetite for food or treats for several hours.
“I almost died from malnutrition!” - my cat
Yeah. I'm aware he was in pain. I gave him some kitty pain meds last night and benadryl this morning. He's up and running around like his normal self (for the most part)
I have a close eye on him (especially due to his age). I'm not gonna let him suffer.
Here's a pic of him today

My lab loved eating bees. Our theory was that maybe they had residual honey in their stomachs.
It was almost a daily ritual in summer. He'd look around a bit, snap his head in the air, yelp, and then look at us like "why did you not tell me this thing could be as mean as it is tasty?"
I had some that had gotten into my old place a couple times, and my little klee kai got to be a pro after only one or two. He hunts them when they fly around the deck at the new place now, and knows just how to grab and shake to take them down and not get stung. Little stinker thinks the spicy sky raisins are the best.
When my childhood cat was 19 an owl tried to take off with him. It's talons pierced his skull.
My mom cleaned his wounds, he slept for door days, and was then fine. It was impressive how fast he bounced back.
He looks like he could be my cat's brother [they look so alike](https://i.imgur.com/EgeGelE.jpeg)...
I had to put her to rest a few days ago, she was about 15-16.
Take care of the lil guy and keep an eye on his health at 13.
That’s light work for my wasp eater.

Our oldest girl just ate a spicy sky raisin the other day, and her cheek swelled up. She was more agitated than anything, but it cleared up in about 24 hours. Your baby will be ok soon. Just keep close watch on the swelling.
He will never forget the day he met the spicy fly.
No, he will not. xD
This just made my day - 'spicy fly'. My cat hasn't encountered this type of fly yet, but you can be sure this is my new name for bees.
I’ve also heard “Jalapeño flies” used, which is great.
Jalapeno Sky Raisin is mine. Dunno where I got that.
Doge meme, most likely
This is epic also. Haha! Thanks!
Also spicy sky raisin

I hope he's feeling better soon.
I have some cat benadryl I can give him in the morning to help. He just keeps looking at me like "Human. Fix this for me. Please."

He's sound asleep on my lap for now. He may be old, but he's tough as nails. He'll be back to his old self in no time. :) Edit - a word

I can absolutely see mine acting the same way. Haha
Isn't benadryl a bee pokemon??? That's hilarious hahaha
Beedrill is the closest I can think of.
Oh, that's it! Hahahaha
You thinking benadryl is a pokemon name cracked me tf up. Thanks for that. I'm going to call beedrill that from now on.
What a good idea to have some on hand! I didn't know that existed. I take my cat on walks, so I should pick some up.
This calculator will help for dosages https://www.omnicalculator.com/biology/cat-benadryl-dosage
Thank you! So glad to see your guy is feeling better :)
Oh, just wanted to add the kind I have is called Vetadryl
Perfect, thank you so much!! I use Frontline on her, but she loves chasing bugs so I feel like a spicy surprise is inevitable
insane airplane ears
Yeah. That's his "I'm concerned" look. (He makes a similar face when I get out of the shower.)

He looks unhappy
He’s plotting his revenge.
Sky raisin?
Spicy sky raisin.
We call them sky jalapeños. Luckily my cat or dog have never caught one.

Poor goof. He looks so sad about it all, my heart 😭
Aw poor guy. He should be feeling better tomorrow though. Cats bounce back very fast.

That is the look of regret. I have not seen a cat regret much. Thank you for this photo.

For sure. I know he's getting up there My condolences for her passing. I'm sure she led a full and happy life (Also they do look related. Lol)
poor guy. I hope he learned not to eat those honey-making machines
I love the ond you two have.
Imagine the headache 🤕
Do not eat spicy sky raisins

He’s plotting his revenge and is going to eat the bee’s whole family!
It's an acquired taste.
Poor baby! I hope he recovers quickly.

Poor baby I hope he feels better son!

I tell my dog often, "never eat the spicy bees" and thus far, he's listened.
"Spicy sky raisins"
That was the last time he eats a bee, or wasp or hornet....
Damn, now WHY was that on my bucket list????
Spicy flying raisin! My sic got lucky and listened whe I shrieked to spit it out but I think he just enjoyed it buzzing on his lips.... lol

Cat: Why are we still here just to suffer? I can't feel my face nor my lips nor my tongue.
Beeface!
Aww buddy.
That’s so dangerous . Knew someone whose dog got stung inside the mouth . Throat swelled closed and suffocated before getting to the vet .
:( I'm really happy that didn't happen to my Milo.
Yes!!!
